I can't see the U21 tournement changing the NRC situation that much, the only thing that will happen is that the price on him can be affected by his performance, but because he playes well in a few games should not make i.e. spurs more interessted than the are right now - if they are then their buying police is seriously stupid. Even DOL knew not to judge a player on a few good games in a different setting.

Don't start getting positive on us all of a sudden!! For what it is worth I can't see us signing a new attacking midfielder, we have Stan, Young, Berger (I guees) and Maloney. What we need is a top defensive midfielder. Then we desperatly needs a right back, cover for CD, goal and LB and then if available a big top quality striker.

I tend to agree with you, but I seem to remember DOL trying it out and it did not work to well.

I think he is great since he will keep Newcastle down on his own.

I think it is true that JOL is under presure. He ha a strong squad and really should have done better with it. I too find it hard to believe that Spurs will have a lot to spend and I can see Villa being the one club to challenge the top 4. Don't get me wrong I think Spurs could do it as well, just not with JOL, he had his chance. Everton is not going to get stronger, same goes for Bolton and Reading (2'nd year is tough). Portsmouth have a good sqaud but needs to build and they will find it hard to get players others want as well so Harry needs to use some of his old magic, can't really see them getting much better. Newcastle could get better if they get Big Sam, but I don't think they have to much money. City are a mess - the same goes for the rest. Sunderland could be a surprice package. So in short I see Spurs and Villa as the major contenders, but Spurs seem to have lost the momentum and Villa are just gearing up all the time.

If this is not ground for a point reduction what is? 3 or six points of and a fine. The argument of prize money is silly, a point reduction will ALways reduce the price money recieved (unless you are a lot of points off your nearest rival). FA made a mistake, end of.

Don't get me wrong, Bent is a to quality plyer and I wouldn't be complaining if we got him, all I'm saying is that the £15m it would take to buy Bent would probably sort out our defense and midfield which would be better for us imo. I see what you mean, but I think you can relax since there will be enough money for players who can add value to the team.

Hero for his behavior and personality, but he has not done the bizz on a regular basis so he is a flop.

There is a logical reason for not selling Bent to Wham - I think Wham would have to pay 50 Mill to get him. How much money will it cost Charlton if they go down and Wham stay up? If they are selling him it is not going to be to a club they think they can catch. We might get him for 15-16 mill. I guees. But we could not play 433 with him and Carew could we?

And Milner in the last window?

I think that is when the player wants a move or the club wants to sell. Or if the buying club wants to draw attention to the deal. The kind of players we are after is not players the clubs wants to sell. And Villa are not a team players will die to play for so they wont make a fuss to be allowed to leave. The agents are always interessted in a deal, but if there is already contact between the clubs the agents have no interest in leaking the deal. Man U. and Chelsea often leak transfers but I think that is to unsettle the players. If I was MON right now I would do all I can to keep it quiet since I would not want a bidding war. So as I see there can easily be ongoings, but we might never know.
