  1. apart from Gabby, are we watching the same game ? , Tekkers not winning the headers he should but he had more movement in the 1st 15 than he has shown all season so far, Delphs ball for the Goal, and Gil a bit shakier than usual ... happy to see gabby off for a rest but not sure if I want Weimann,Bacuna or Grealish in in place Sanchez having a wobbly one as well UTV
  2. interesting/nice to see (~) 90% agreement on the back four and I am guessing most here would have no issues with okore or baker ATM either? anyway I hope Sanchez starts, I feel he has as much talent as any in the squad and after a few shaky starts he was shaping up nicely, then one shocker of a game and he is out of the lineup ... shame that didn't happen with Tony Moon though he still gets Kudos for that goal , & I don't think Cleverly finally having a good 45 mins after all the headless chicken running around he has done for so long warrants a start esp with Delph/Sanchez/Bacuna/Gil/?Westie? in the running Got a good feeling about this one ... and whilst that's usually a bad sign, today I think things might be different, either way UTV
  3. ... like I said, the Missus likes him a lot BTW last game in charge at Spurs for Sherwood ... 3-0 Villa .. thats probably tells us something but not sure exactly what
  4. oh , forgot, the missus reckons he's hot as well ... don't fancy him much myself that way but if it keeps her quiet during the match, cool with me~
  5. ignoring the last few posts cos of the win... to all the posters suggesting that we will get relegated now because of Sherwoods appointment ... just where the feck do you think we were going exactly ? and FFS give the guy a chance, as for the contract length ? so theFeckwhat ? Lamberts 4 year deal was worthless in the end so dont stress about that stress about getting behind the VIlla and ... WELCOME OUR NEW OVERLORD UTV UTS
  6. Cleverley will start even if was pronounced dead my an MD , just get over it .. actually almost was useful against Chelski though would rather he was benched, we don't have the time for him to find form if indeed he has any.
  7. much better performance but Lambert wearing his alternate reality glasses again, we are creating chances, bringing in crosses so bring on Benteke.. makes sense yeah ? well yes unless you then go and change the setup which stops those crosses coming in allowing for more quality teapot impressions from Tekkers though to be fair he did try to get about a bit more than usual... Cleverly had probably his best showing for us today.. still poor but even a shot on target (in my definition), so the one and only time he should have been left on the pitch ... you could have guessed it, and the swap for Sincliar made no sense.. though FAR more sense than the WTF Joe Cole for Weimann. Basically Lambert saw we were actually making a good fist of it ... can't have that, time for some pointless subs, change the way we are playing and guarantee mediocrity and inevitable loss. If he had left well alone we may well have had a shot at a point, if any changes were required... Delph was having a shocker and Sanchez should have come on (or Cole for Delph rather than Weimann), Sanchez had a shocker last week for sure but has been one of our most promising, alongside Gil. Picked Clark MOTM though Gill/Okore were as worthy, I don't think anyone except Delph had a bad game as such though Sinclair was ineffective if not entirely his fault. Cole is always good value but why and where need to be addressed.
  8. Sorry its Lambert, payed the wrong tactics, again waited until its too late to make a sub, then took off weimann when he should have took off Richardson or Sanchez who were both having a shocker. Why did Sinclair not start? he was hardly going to be worse than Cleverly was he ?
  9. its not even that, he just wont move, if the ball is not placed at his feet or head or is more than 3 or 4 feet away he just busts the 'I'm a teapot' move ... he really needs to be put on the bench for a short while, he wont move and mostly we cant provide though much better today in the second half. Sanchez is Motm, Okore not far off, Gil vv impressive start and might help weimann find some form, sooner Delph is sold the better, Hutton could be brilliant given the chance,Baker a good stint as well, Ally I like but is not quite good enough any more, the difference after Cleverly came off tells its own story. Much better, was not absolute shite despite the comments, but Lambert needs to go, end of.
  10. Sanchez on a mission, pleasure to watch, he is all over the shop and thats starting to cause problems for them. Sorry but Cleverly far more useful than Delph ATM though one of them at least needs to come off at HT we go again....
  11. My dog Lulu is out of contract ATM, shes good at chasing stuff, does not mind a scrap and knows when to give up, knows when shes been a bad girl ..she also likes a good belly rub, not sure about the belly rub but she has Lambert on all the rest. Taking her down the beach later but she will be available after that.
  12. utter shite. Okore, Clarke , Guzan, Sanchez (to a point cos he had a couple of shaky ones) the only reason we were not plastered. I don't think Gabby is that bad,I also don't think Weiman is that bad and we KNOW Tekkers is not that bad, but they were all useless , Benteke's lack of movement and , `I'm a teapot` disbelief is giving me the shits, Gabby and Weimann don't know where [and perhpas why] they are playing, this HAS to be coming from the bench, Hutton is not making the runs down the right he made early in the season... why not? I don't think its his preference, his body language suggests otherwise, or perhaps he knows he will be wasting his time since 7/10 even one of our more gifted players (Sanchez) has been drilled to pass it back and keep possession rather than forward to create a chance. What I mean is I really don't think our squad is that bad.. so why we play so much utter shite? has to be instructions, has to be Lambert. So now I don't know if I should be screaming for Lambert to replace cleverly after about 20 mins or not, I mean whats the point? he will make a non-nonsensical sub anyway who will also look as confused as anyone else as to know what to do (other than pass it back), perhaps Cleverly is a better player, we just may never get the chance to see that under Lambert. How to make something happen? booing is just not on, though I smiled to hear the chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' after the Sanchez sub. I cant threaten to boycott Villa Park cos I live in Australia, so only a thought boycott for me, but perhaps no bums on seats for a while may begin to hurt Lerner in the only place he requires stimulation, or at least make him look like the crap owner he is... he has to have some pride/ego somewhere he wants to defend, his type normally do~
  13. Sorry but N'Zogbia and Richardson should not have started in the first place, I (and I am sure most here) have no idea why N'Zogbia is starting games, he sadly offers nothing, he has all the chances in the world to get back into some form but its obvious to world + dog - Lambert that that is not going to happen. Richardson had a rush of blood to the head but that happens, thing is even though so many here dislike weimann for unknown reasons he should have started (unless not fit). Not sure why anyone voted for Sanchez, he has improved from a 50/50 percent chance of competing a pass to probably 70/30 but thats still not good enough in his position though I see his potential in glimpses. Benteke played quite well I thought, Gabby mostly anonymous, Delph at least gave us a couple of `shots on target` for the stats, after the goal WBA played like we normally do, Lambert should have made the changes there and then, 1/2/3 goal loss makes do difference at this point in the season, we could have nicked a draw or more but as usual Lambert waits too long (though not as long as usual) to do anything about it. Okore was truly excellent, Hutton also, Red card was a bit of a killer but Starting lineup was wrong (again) and subs were mistimed.
  14. ...which gets us a goal ?@! Was Cole subbed cos he was tired ? did not look it to me, looked like Lambert thought it was all wrapped up and forgot what usually happens when we are defending a 1 goal lead in the second. Did not mind seeing Grealish out there but Sanchez was the only one that needed subbing (unless Cole was knackered) , I was grimacing behind a cushion every time he got the ball wondering who which side it would go to this time, 50/50 like a toss of a coin, not that I know who we had to replace him but until he gets some confidence back he is as much a liability as anything else despite the talent we can all see lurking inside. So usual Lambert tactics, sub the goalscorer and the feeder when we are defending our MASSIVE one goal advantage. for okore, thought that was soft if in fact a penalty at all Cleverly hard at it and starting to settle in can see potential there, Hutton good, Gabby worked hard and scared the bejesus out of them a couple of times running for a lost ball (someone said he was lazy today, **** off) , in fact I thought everyone (bar Sanchez and westie was average today methinks) but we lose... to Burnley .. seriously if this is not Lambert dictated style of play then WTF is he not beating the crap out of them when it happens again and again, I think his substitutions show his thought processes and they suck.

Oh well if thats how they say its pronounced then I can't argue, but so used to saying good on yer, it hurts (me) to say ma-tay , like I order a flat white coffee, can't be bothered with a tai-chi frappacino etc. @limpid , still use linux and li(y)-nux on a daily basis since I can bever remember which was the right way, heard Torvalds saying it once but cant remember which way

why does the guy keep saying matay... like satay or pate ? surley its MATE as in good on yer ... ? I had to stop watching the vid it was making me nauseous listing to `matay`
  18. when the PC is plugged in via ethernet does it get internet or not ? if it does not then probably the ethernet port on the PC is borked, if it does then either its the router itself or you have setup (accidentally of otherwise) a ad-hoc wireless connection to the pc.
  19. lol what I meant to say but got sidetracked was that that was (IMO) a decent result all things considered, and a good start to the next few games where we could pick up a few points.
  20. cant quite add up what I saw (on Foxtel) with all the comments, we were pretty average but regardless of how crap everyone seems to think southampton are they were on a roll and a good if not world class squad, I was expecting a drubbing, would have been nice to wrap it up but at least we did not sit on the goal as much as usual there was still some effort there to try and continue at least in the first half. On the positive side we finally have options in defence, we had a solid defence tonight even without concrete and Senderos and (cant believe I am saying this) Baker, so we finally stand a chance when Vlaar is injured which is quite often, it used to be no concrete no hope. So building from the back is a good start, with Delph and Benteke back we may start to push forward assuming Lambert does not decide to play N'Zogbia and Bent all the time, I want to love both of them but Charles simply cant hold onto the ball (and sadly constantly tries to) and Bent.. dunno, he looks as lost as Charles most of the time. CANT STAND nor understand the constant derision of Weimann, he works his tits off each and every game, is one of our only 2 goalscorers and frustrates the hell out of the opposition whatever their quality, but all he ever gets is crap here, I would understand if Lambert had a Suarez or Bale on the bench and Lambert had options but he currently hasn't [and to be fair even if he had he would play Bent instead~] I don't understand why our midfield is so innefectual though, Sanchez/Westie/Ceverley/Delph are all good players they just don't seem to gel whatever the line-up, I think if they could get it on then Gabby/Benteke and Andi could wipe up quite nicely.
  21. And yet N'Zogbia started ?, I want as much as anyone for him to find form but it is looking like it is never going to happen, yet he was started again over Weimann who is 1 of our only 2 goal-scorers this season .. logic please?? Its good fun to watch Grealish get seven shades knocked out of him as soon as he comes on and he obviously frustrates the opposition which is worth something, Charles can't even do that and I am well over watching Benteke with his semi-shrug hands in the air every time he does not get the ball or gets tackled or.. well .. just because. I don't think my Mom could do much worse at the moment so WTF not give someone else a go? Thats was the most woeful performance this season (1st game was bad but at least no concede..) Gotta question why Lambert waits so long EVERY TIME to sort out the obvious, ... let's wait for a another goal/till its too late to change things around. Only positives were Cleverly looking like he actually gave one and working hard (esp in second half) and Hutton (MOTM) for effort alone. Cissoko had a bad game but he still has credit Actually wondered today for the first time in I don't know how long if Given should be given a game.. not because of the muffed save that cost us a goal but because of the awful distribution... Guzan has lots of credit up his sleeve but he needs to work out that its only him who is playing counter-attacking football at the moment and you cant play that game on your own from in goal..... why has he not worked that out yet ? On that note, goal kicks and throw-ins now.. we would be better just giving the ball to the opposition, every throw-in is the same. WAIT until everyone is nicely marked No, wait a little longer the opposition need more time to form up OK throw the ball at whoever is marked closest/most Fail to control the inevitable return from the under pressure receiver Seriously we would be better just throwing the ball as far as we can into open space. I could do a similar list for passing and Guzans distribution but I think you get the point. Our players really are not that bad so something else is up .. Roy needs to start kicking someones booty.
  22. no MOTM for me either, too many options and unfair on the others. 60Mill plus is nothing against TEAMWORK , which is what we got today, honorables for Cissokho,Senderos,Baker,Richardson,Hutton .. Andi and Fabian , Gabby all worked anonymously but hard, Cleverly seemed to fit in nicely, my only worry was the substitutions would rather have seen Grealish for Charles at that particular point in the game and Sanchez sub was not required ? Anyway, permanent grin for a week or so at least. Why all the calls for Kozak here ? not that I dislike him but not sure what provenance you all know about that I don't? cant wait for Tekkers to come back though, those calling for Kozak to replace Gabby or Andi need to record a few matches and look at the work they do (Andi esp 100% every time) We can win without Tekkers. We can defend without Concrete We are second in the league unbeaten (I know only 4 games ) We are Villa I am loving it :)
  23. Err the world + wife knows exactly the opposite... hopefully this wont reverse. Loved it, every minute, are all the Bent haters just picking on him cos they cant have a go at Gabby and Andi ? , he was not great nor was Charlie but Charlie worked hard and Bent was where he was supposed to be, did not hurt anyway thats for sure .. and he was offside ONCE , so shoot him ?
  24. Errr why is everyone pounding Andi ? he worked hard as usual even if he had a bad game, and last week we kind of really needed him since Gabby does appear to be off the ball at the moment but we do need Benteke or a Bentekesque man up front which if you recall is when Andi and Gabby become even more useful. What magic does anyone remember Kozak conjuring up ? I don't get everyones enthusiasm there, but if he is played it should be in Bentekes role which means leaving Andi and Gabby in to feed him.... Bent I like but he is no Benteke, not even close and feel he is best on the bench. > we DID have a couple of shots on target in the box but they were blocked early and we did look dangerous more than once , even the geordie tool spotted that. > Ref really was diabolical. > Sanchez not on for long enough but he felt `safe` immediately needs to be given a game ASAP On Lambert .. for a change I thought the subs were correct in the situation. So far it appears that what he has done with what he had to play with ($6.50 and a packet of crisps) is pretty impressive, financially we are punching way above our weight. Last season we would have gone down either in the first 10 or just before half time OR gone one up ourselves in the first 10 then got slowly slaughtered 2/3-1, best result in this fixture for a LONG time so heads up and smell the roses peoples. I see improvement, if the injury gods are kind to us...
  25. you don't rate him ... so you would rather he was not there today ? Weimann always plays his heart out, look what happens if you put him in the right place instead of watching Benteke standing there with his hands in the air all the time. Bowery played well but if it had ended up a 1-1 draw or worse then he would have been the villan I assume.
