I began supporting AVFC in the early 90's when Bozza was between the sticks. Being Australian and watching Bozza strut his stuff (via the ABC initially) automatically tied me to the club. Have been following Villa ever since. Whilst holidaying in Europe 2 years ago, managed to sneak in a visit to Birmingham and to Villa Park - but have yet to watch a game yet. Love the club with all its history and heritage.

Hirdy can do a job at RB and CDM, as mentioned he's not a CB. He's a good squad player but not good enough to hold down a first team spot.

Brett was always going to be a player that gave it his all on the pitch - but I always suspected that we would not have the technical ability to play in the Premier League. No shame in that - as many players aren't cut out for what's required to play in the PL. As an Aussie, I'm a little disappointed that he has decided to sign for a club in a non european league, however I guess faced with the choice between going to a less league - like the Dutch, where has already played, or getting a nice pay packet in the Middle East, the latter option proved more attractive - cant really blame him for that. Anyway best of luck Brett.

hard to believe that we paid roughly each for cuellar and curtis davies - yet we are able to purchase a season dutch international for 3 mil.

hi, another OzVillain here - been supporting Villa since the early 90's; Since were all coming out of the woodwork, I might as well give my two cents. Normally I would greet the news of AVFC signing an aussie with much excitement and fanfare, but in this case its prerry ho-hum. Holman is at best an average player, that might do a job for us as a squad player. Anyone expecting anything further from him, is heading for dissapointment. Technically he is very average, and whilst his application is beyond doubt, the end product is often lacking.... The notion that this is the calibre of signgings we can expect over the next couple of months depresses me greatly.
