  1. For me, as long as they pay the dosh, they can write what they like on the shirts. However, as we are looking at retro shirts I reckon a series of FXPro says would be great FXPRO says Shit on the City FXPro says Pride of Birmingham FXPro says 100 years and they've won ??? Sounds good to me. However, seriously, as I saif - to me, its about the pound signs. Is there any report how much this is worth, everywhere I see just sayd "record deal". However, giving on our other deals, a hapeth of Chips would do that !
  2. two things s) The comment above about Ellis is absolutely spot on !!!. For 30 yrs we slagged off Ellis for coming out with the same crap the fans are now.... 30m is too good to turn down , we cannot attract those sort of players (just remember a bottom of the league Blue Teenwolf signed bloody Dugarry !) , six place is a fantastic season for a team like us , we cannot achieve top 4 , a team like Villa will never attract stars. blah de blah This goes to show how much bloody pain Ellis caused us. The fans have had it drummed into them for so many years, they now believe it. Onto Milner - he ain't THAT good, I keep saying it. Couldn't get another player of his quality, even if we spent 30m. Tell you this. Milner is 24 1/2 - he ain't that young, and he will probably only get better now out of being bled into the centre role and getting used to it - he won't improve his actual ability. Stephen Ireland is just as good, potentially better at what, 8m And I tell you what - there is a kid 5 years younger, showing just as much potential as Milner and will cost nowt come December - his name is Fabian Delph. Milner is back up to Barry and SWP or Joe Cole Now that my friends, says it all on how good he is. He is an England squad member at 24. Good , but nowhere near this hype he is being made up to be.
  3. Milito is 30. Henry is 32. Your point is invalid. And so is Emile Heskey I think I'd rather have a 32 yr old Thierry Henry than a 32 yr old Emile Heskey to very much
  4. I agree, I like Keane and think he will come herre. Now it isn't my money so as long as we buy good players, I don't care if they cost 2m and we get a bargain, or 30m and we get ripped off - as long as they perform, what do I care. But if I was randy, I think if I was quoted 15m, I'd think I'd just gone to the Edinburgh Fringe !
  5. Now I voted no sale under any circs but I am very surprised, Personally, as I have argued on here, I don't think Milner is anything special. I think he is a good player, but no means great and there are many many players out there that could be better. So why vote stay ? Not for Milner himself , but for the message it sends out to Young / Gabby and any prospective purchase. Why am I shocked. Because reading the thread, people are up in arms about selling him, then you look at the poll and 60odd percent (is it 61 ?) say they want him sold as long as we get 30 million. Wierd
  6. Bloody shame. Lets face it, none of us know why he hasn't played but from the outside it is clearly mystifying. He is a class class RB that, if he wanted, would probably be lining up on Monday in an England shirt. Even if Carlos was performing at his maximum, then Luke is clearly the better right back, but the truth is Carlos has struggled badly, so it makes it even more strange. However, what I would say, and I said it in September and got slagged totally for it , is it seems Luke may have a suspect attitude. The rumoured fall out over playing left back. The having 3 months off. Now I felt sorry for him, but I would suggest that virtually every person on here who works and knows there contract would tell you that for the same circs, they would get maximum 2 weeks compassionate leave, and some, including me, a lot less. It was a shame but 3 months was excessive. Then the saying no to England seems well odd. 3 months before the world cup, Capello says he wants you and you say no - why ?, although I think it is disgusting Carragher was even asked, you'd be mental to turn it down. (Scholes is different, hes had so many big nights, a world cup is probably nothing special) but Young has done nothing and had a chance to go down in history. Then, as I saidm, there must have been a reason ONeill wouldn't pick him. So although I think he is great, and should be playing - I'll leave off having a go at ONeill as I suspect there is more to it than meets the eye.
  7. After a long hard 15 hr shift at work I get home and this thread cheers me up no end. Look lets face it, we have got as much chance of signing Kaka as Thierry Henry, but the point it, some people on here think he's "over the hill" and "wouldn't touch him with a barge pole !" And yet, some of the same people think we should sign players like Lee Catermole. Cheerts for cheering me up all. Pu it this way. An over the hill 31yr old, bought last year has just done absolutely crap for Inter Milan tonight !. I will state this, with a touch of sarcasm, but lets face it, probably a lot of truth in it. Thierry Henry at the age of 48 , would be a better forward than Emile Heskey aged 28 ! Oh, and Petrov, definately, but again , absolutely no chance. If MON won't play Luke Young or NRC after "spats", Petrov would have no chance !
  8. You are a Sun editors dream you really are. Out of that list I'd actually take Lennon - personally, he reminds me of Tony Daley with an end product - you would stand every time he got th eball. However, you have put in Adam Johnson - this guy who has played about 12 games for the "Mighty Man City" of which he /they were so good they lost 4th place when it was being handed to them on a plate - and is suddenly the greatest prospect ever. Why don't you look at the real game and appreciate players yourself apart from just believing what the Sun says. Now personally, and again , another one that everyone said was "crap" and not in Ashleys league I'd take Nani everyday , he bleeding showed Warnock up like a pillock at Wembley- but hey - he must be shit - he ain't being linked to Man City for 50m
  9. a_ Since when where Liverpool when Heskey played for them a top class side ? Liverpool (unless you count 1977-1985) are about as far from Man U and Barcalona was bleeding Pelsall Villa are !. Take out the years I have just said, and how many trophies have they won - I haven't got it to hand, but I would guess at about 7 ? Fecking hell you will be saying bloody Steve Bull next as he had 500 appearances for the once mighty wolves !
  10. JEEESUS I am getting mad here The fact you can judge a player on who they play for is the top clubs only buy the top player ! In fact, in any sport the top players play for the top clubs. Does Jenson Button / Lewis Hamilton / Vettel drive for Hispania The top clubs buy the cream - they don't buy shit. Now, not every player makes it at the top clubs, and some move on quickly. - the good old JJ twins is a case in point However, if you are at a top club - a Man U, a Barca, a Chelsea , and Arsenal - and you amass over 100 appearances for one of those clubs Sorry to tell you - you are a fecking good player. Joe Cole (who I would cream after, can't get anywhere near the Chelsea side, so the player who is keeping him out of it must be a bit handy ) Surely you get this ?. Michael Carrick has amassed 188 appearances. In this time, he has mostly kept out players like Giggs / Scholes. Alex fergusun must think he "isn't bad" to be keeping out players like that. Please tell me you get the argument, it is easy. A player who is bought by a Top Band side (Barca . real. Man U) isn't necessarily world class However If you play for one of those sides for 4 yrs, keeping out players that are better than Aston Villa have ever had in our history, then you must be a little bit handy. Savvy ? Edit above Carrick is a forward attacking midfielder, Barry is a holding one. Barry isn't picked over Carrick, the fact is Carrick has had lampard and Gerrard to contend with for an England place - and he ain't gonna win that one, even if he was Kaka (well maybe kaka but you get the point) Barry has ousted (or maybe pushed the wheelchair) of Hargreaves
  11. JESSSSSSSSUS Here is the point If someone (lets say Jonathan Greening) plays 15 games for Man Utd, then gets sold, it is fair to say, he isn't to a standard that Man U expect Michael Carrick has played 188 times for Man Utd. Is this hard to understand - you do not play 188 times for a club like Man Utd if you are not top class. Man Utd are the creme de la creme - along with Barca and Real - they buy players, some players dont work - they get shot of quickly (Forlan perfect example) Michael Carrick has played 188 times for Man Utd - how many other players have played 188 times for Man Utd ? - go on. You only play 188 times for a club like Man U if you are TOP CLASS. Honestly, do you think after all this time, Alex Fergusun is that stupid ?
  12. Hence Man City's £20m bid for him. Oh, hang on... What a complete and utter STUPID STUPID STUPID statement Sorry but that has got to be the most ridiculous statement ever made on Villatalk - and I've been accused of a few. So , lets get this right. James Milner must be better than Eboue because Man City want to buy Milner for 20m and don't want to buy Eboue ? - do I get this right. Therefore, and I think I understand here - Craig Bellamy must be better than Wayne Rooney - because Man City signed him instead. Or maybe, Nigel de Jong , is better than Frank Lampard and Ronaldo as Man City bought him instead of them. Fecking unbelievably ridiculous. Sorry to ask - are you 6 ?
  13. Eboue. Hilarious stuff. Yeah - hilarious, the right back that plays for Arsenal - probably the 2nd best footballing side in Europe, finished 3 places above us, was only a fwe points off the league Appearences for this unbelievable side that we can't even dream of geting near 119 appearances But hey, of course Arsene Wenger, proclaimed a genius by anybody who knows football plays a totally shit player 119 times in 3 years, including YET AGAIN a Champions League final You are just making yourself look a complete tit do you know that Tell you what. The day Luke Young , Carlos Cueller, Stewart Downing (who are the positions Eboue plays) play in a Champions League final. I'll come up and clean your whole house naked with a toothbrush up my arse - how about that ? EDIT Forgot to mention the 50 caps for a country that has as good as chance as England of winning the World Cup this year Yeah - utter hilarious how I think he's a good player !
  14. No, no he isn't. Now this is EXACTLY what I am talking about. thinking other players aren't as good as ours, just coz they don't play for us. Lets put this simply. Michael Carrick has been at Man U since 2006 Since this time he has played (league games - remember 38 games - 33, 31, 28 and 30 Of those he has missed he has mainly been either injured or suspended. Therefore Michael Carrick has been the MAIN Man Utd central Midfielder in the three most successful years in Englands most successful club in history. He has won 3 league championships, 1 Euro Cup , A world club championship, and most heartbreaking - a League Cup. And there are people on here that think Petrov is better than him !!! Put it this way, if Milner was at Man U for the last three years - do you think he had have acheived 188 appearences !!!!!! I keep saying it - will somebody PLEAAAAASE listen Alex Fergusun doesn't play you 188 times , in virtually every game INCLUDING a Champions League Final if you are shit !!!! Now please grow up !!!!
  15. month not week eejit ! Which for Osbourne is 40k pm too much
  16. No i am saying just coz you think Jack Rodwell isn;t as good as Milner, doesn't mean he isn't. Here is a shock for you - at this time Milner IS NOT as good as Gareth Barry, never mind the "world class" player some say he is. Milner is good. He has had a very good season. But at this moment, he has acheived nothing. He is not this "unbelievable" central midfielder people are making him out to be. Have a look through the match threads, since Xmas, there are plenty that were saying he needed to go back to the wing and NRC needed to come back in the centre. Milner will stay in my opinion, and I truly hope he goes on to be as good for us as David Platt was. But, at this minute - he isn;t - and thats the truth. He got fans player of the season this year - he didn't get the players - Dunne did. Last year Petrov got it, closely followed by Luke Young. Milner has had a few "not bad" seasons, followed by a very good one. Only time will tell if he becomes consistant. Remember it was only 4 yrs ago we all thought Steven Davis was going to be the next Gordon Cowans, in fact, come to that, Ashley Young was YpotY last season, being linked to all and sundry, including Arsenal, and this year people have been slagging him off left right and centre !. All I am saying is Milner is not the player some are making him out to be (yet anyway) and like it or not, there are players out there, playing just as well without all the hype. There is always one "english" goalie and one outfield player hyped every season, especially world cup year - think Walcott !). This year it is Milner and Hart - go back through time, usually 50% of them go onto better things (Rooney for example) some die a death (Richard Wright, Rob Green, Micah Richards (yes remember how he was the new Bobby Moore !) Time will tell which one Milner is - but at the moment he is just "up and coming"
  17. Er with Mr Osbourne - it is, and I know it is 100%. I cant say how, just trust me, it is ! Was this as 100% as your assertation that Eboué, Rosicky, Carrick and Rodwell were all better than Milner? It's still worth repeating it's so hilarious. You see you are talking shite when you come out with stuff like that. Who do you trust as a manager. Me ? O'Neill ? Fergusun ? Mancini ? Ancelotti ? Now personally, although I reckon I could be a successful premier league manager, I trust Ancelotti and Fergusun to be "not too shabby" Now, they both left Barry alone (even though they had the chance) They are both leaving Milner alone But they are tapping up Rodwell like bloody mad !. Now personally, just coz you just see B6 as the be-all and end-all of football (well, actually, so do I) , I also look around and see that other clubs have players that are actually better than ours. And believe me, Jack Rodwell will be the next Ryan Giggs at Man U ! Don't blelieve me if you want. But I think I'd trust Fergie a little ! Just open your eyes a little will ya, I presume you were one of those saying last year that Ashley Young was 10 times the player of Nani and valencia !
  18. Er with Mr Osbourne - it is, and I know it is 100%. I cant say how, just trust me, it is ! Below You are taking that off a Daily Mirror transfer thread. Pure speculation !. If you search long enough (coz I have as I have tried to get the Deloitte link) you will see 45 , 50, 60, 65, 80 and one one (get this) 160,000 !!!! they are all just crap !
  19. As I said he is (well I thought it was 60) but when you think logically, it makes sense. He has been in the top flight for 13 yrs. He has moved from Leic / Liverpool / Blues / Wigan / Villa - each time, obviously getting an increase. He is (somehow) one of the first names on the England team sheet. It only stands to reason , he will be on high wages. Don't make it bloody right though !
  20. And even more disgusting Osiah Osbourne is on 38k per month NET !!! - thats money in the bank And that is FACT !!!! , 100% cosher ! , no arguments !. And if he can get that - then the world is f...... crazy !
  21. Believe it if you want but Heskey is on 60k per week. Milner if I remember was on about 40. However, for god sake don't get so bloody serious will ya - it was a fecking joke about Salifou !!! Again, Shall I put this in plain English coz some people on here do not seem to have a) Brains , a sense of humour c) any common sense. What I was getting at was Milner will out of all this be a Villa player come September, but get a rough 75% increase in his pay packet for doing sod all apart from let the press bump up his negotiating power. Is that OK for you ?
  22. In principle I think you are correct. However, whats 30m nowadays. Wouldn't even get you Jack Rodwell and Carlton Cole (on the selling clubs valuations that is). If you get 100million for Ronaldo - then 100m can do some serious damage, or 70m for Torres. But 30m will get us 2 decent players, we couldn't overhaul our squad with it.
  23. Pretty certain that right there is bollocks. Pretty certain it isn't. Pretty certain it was released in some document by Deloitte and Touche about 3 months ago regarding players wages against club turnover. Villa top earner - Emile Heskey - 60k per week !. And if you think, it makes sense, he has been around for 13 yrs at top level, and is for some god forsaken reason, an England regular. It is fact (well if you believe accountants which I do)
  24. Can'r believe there are so many thinking he will go. I don't think there is a chance in hell he will go. What will happen, and this is probably the crux of it all, and who can blame him, is Mr Milner has just guarenteed a very nice pay increase at the Villa. Lets face it, Heskey is the top earner. If you were Milner, would you be happy (come to think of it, if you were Salifou would you be happy !) Jimmy has just placed himself on a nice new 3yr contract, probably guarenteeing him to be in line with the top paid Villa player, more than likely with a clause that if in two years, we aren't in Champs League, he can talk to clubs that are. And that is all that will happen.
