 Nope... This is becoming unbelievable for a club of Aston Villa's stature...    regardless of our league and current position we find ourselves in!

How do you know he hasn't signed yet? Even if he hasn't and there are a last few contract issues being agreed, how is that 'unbelievable' for a club of any stature?

its all over bar the shouting now, don't get the Hamilton hate on here, i think the only reason rosberg will win the championship is cus Lewis has had all the unreliability, least deserving champion since button won it in 2009

I don't think the 'hate' is anything to do with Hamilton's ability or equates to a support for Rosberg.

Oh, ok. I've just not read them. Best I've seen is that it might not work out when we're back in the PL.

To my mind that displays a level of arrogance I thought we would have banished by now. I do however understand that if you're happier than I am to take the risk of spending a few years rattling around in the Championship then someone like Wagner would be a better fit.

I am not against such a manager, I won't be against any manager. I want the quickest return to the Championship possible and I feel Bruce presents us with that over basically anyone realistically available.

Premiership*, I hope. We're not dead and buried just yet.;)

    * Premier League (I believe the other word is now a HD Ellis copyright).

  4. This thread has taught me that the managers available to us will 'end in failure', make people 'throw up' or even 'give up on football'. I don't envy Tony and the board's need to make a decision.

I could cheer myself up by naming all the managerial possibilities in individual posts - each stating they won't be any good; just so I can re-quote it when he's about to be sacked in the future.

  5. Mercedes knew the risks from the results of their engine testing during the week before. They took a gamble on running with an engine management that had the power but was a known reliability risk. The gamble obviously didn't pay off for Hamilton.

My answer was in reply to Demitri_C's post, he said he would be very suprised if Wagner took the job. If he wasnt interested, he would surely have ruled himself out by now.

Wagner could be waiting to see what Villa can offer him before making his decision. By keeping quiet now, his decision could still be that he stays at Huddersfield with an improved contract and an even greater appreciation from his club's board and fans.

James Bond from Russia with love on Tv

he started running a bath then heard a noise went out to investigate and then gave the naked Russian agent what for all night ....

how much water leaked into the floor seeing as he didn't turn the bath off ?

That would depend on the size of his overflow.

a couple of weeks ago some absolute div made a noise complaint to the council about my local footy league team

less than 200 fans, one home game a fortnight, been at the same ground for over 100 years and we finally get a noise complaint

council have advised us that they will be monitoring, possible outcome if found guilty could be a fine

people have realised the possible PR opportunity we have here - '114 year old football club have overly noisy fans'

    for tomorrow's game:

I'm not a giant fan of drums at football, but hey, if it upsets captain dickhead at number 42....

In all seriousness, you need to establish what is the council's pass/fail criteria and applicable regulation in regard to:

    1. The maximum sound level permitted.
    2. The time duration the maximum sound level must not be exceeded.
    3. The distance and position the sound is to be measured at.
    4. The exact regulation and law that is being applied and why it is applicable.

Unless you are made aware of all the above, ask the council how the football club can be expected to know how to avoid being 'guilty'. Without knowing exactly why the club is 'guilty', the club can't be fined.

So it seems the new Transformers movie is filming just over the water down here in Portsmouth.  The filming is literally a 5 minute walk away followed by a short 5 minute hop on the "Gosport Ferry" from my home.  It's interesting but filming a Hollywood blockbuster in Gosport? WHYYYYYY?!

It's because everything looks futuristic against the Isle of Wight.

90% of the time I'm really excited...the rest I'm thinking...wft am i doing? Is this gonna work out? How much debt am i putting myself in?

I'm hoping this is a normal bloke reaction?

You've got to live somewhere and that will cost.

Most people prefer companionship and if you create the right relationship you'll have decades of gratification on tap.

Only time will tell if it will work out.

Don't worry about the debt of buying. Better to pay X for 25 years to own than to pay 2X over the next 50 years to own nothing.

I wish you and PieFacE all the best.:)

I've got two kids. One can have my Barclaycard bill, the other can have my Amex bill.

I'm happy to be buried in the garden or put out with the food waste. Not overly bothered, I'll be dead.

    I'm keeping the pen.

I think most think of the event in the same simplistic way. Unfortunately, the reality is very different and whilst the deceased isn't able to give a hoot, those left behind will be trying to arrange something that has to happen in some form or other.

When you're driving on a main road and a car ahead in a side road keeps edging out so you have no alternative but to let them out otherwise you'll take the front of their car off. Pricks

I tend to assume it's because the traffic on the main road is that heavy and no one has been kind enough to let them out that the only alternative to edging out is waiting for ages and ages and ages...

    and there's a free pen

I think the plans are like most financial products. There's some okay ones and some poor value ones. I'd be steering away from celebretity endorsements and freebies. One good thing they can encourage is getting the parent or grandparent to write down their wishes in regard to the service they want. The last thing I want when my parents die is to be arguing with siblings over how grand the service should be, whether it should be religious or humanist, what hymns or songs should be used, where the wake should be and what the buffet should look like.

Who on earth takes out a funeral plan? Who wants to prepare for their own death

It's seen as a selfless act so that there is less cost and hassle for the loved ones left behind. 4 of my 6 parents (2 actual, 2 'step', 2 in-law) have them.
