    That do it for you?

sorry, off topic.....but that sentence just reminded me of this classic

well worth 5 mins of your life if you've not seen it.....and (again) if you have

We are limping. The stats show that we nearly always concede making it all the harder to control and win games as we were doing earlier in the season. We are now into a clear phase of  random unpredictability, so very hard to know what you will get from us. Still capable of some very good attacking play, but it's not at all consistent and the defensive mistakes always leave us vulnerable to disappointing results.

i get it all....the injuries to the squad....the grit of the team...digging in....not having a settled back four...the experiences or lack of...Martinez playing a blinder and keeping us in the game....etc

what i don't get is a team going 2 up in the 2nd half and well on top and then......all of a sudden, 2nd best.....

why didn't we carry not on and try to get the 3rd which would have effectively settled the tie?

    that's what i don't get

we won.....but it feels as shit as it did on Saturday.....

Despite the sort of negative post I myself have posted, and the majority of this thread have too, we’ve just won a home leg of a European quarter final 2-1 lads

    drink it in

yeah, but come on, i hear you...

    Martinez motm

    a wafer thin off side

why am i so disappointed, and i mean really disappointed,  with a home win?

We’re doing that thing again where we are playing by conserving effort. I’d rather we did that in the second leg when we are protecting a 3-0 lead though!

Hope you’ve got your £10 donation to VT ready

No way would i be backing us at those odds.....i reckon the bookies have priced that up wrong

Lille are no mugs by any stretch of the imagination and this game will be a though one.

I think its OK but too slow.

I mean I've seen the 3rd of 5 episodes and don't have a clue what the song might sound like.

    General annoyances:

    1.  Poor Birmingham accents straying into scouse frequently
    2. The Pantomime gangster. Just so  OTT and unnecessary.
    3. His constant bad poetry. Not sure if that's the point but his songwriting is going to be amazing, but it's really irritating and they really should have got a better writer in on the poetry.
    4. The constant references to The Lulu's. Quite sickening
    5. The constant references to the M6. It's actually weird.
    6. Why is he constantly walking underneath the motorway going from seemingly nowhere to seemingly nowhere.  Did they not invent buses till after 1981 because that's how I got pretty much everywhere back then.
    7. He lives in Chelmsley Wood yet goes to college in Handsworth (as does his femal skinhead friend) along with another girl who lives in Sutton Coldfield. That Handsworth college must have been one hell of a draw.
    8. Why does his Coventry cousin speak in a Birmingham (ish) accent? He seems to have lived in Coventry his whole life as far as I can tell.
    9. A lot of the music featured and referenced is not contemporary which I find odd.  It was the premise of the show that was kind of advertised.

Other than that it's OK.  Just a very odd show.

Thanks for the summary but i'm not going to waste my time watching anything that references that rabble down the road.....

i'd rather watch this than anything to do with them

Watching The Outreau Case on Netflix. The mind just boggles, it really does.

just watched it and as you say it's mind boggling.

I had to keep asking myself whats really happening.

    Spoiler

To think you can be sitting at home watching tv then one day your whole world turns upside down.

Hve to feel for the family of the one who committed suicide. Such a shame.

    A good watch

I think there was a question mark over about 5 players positioning.....Mings does organise us, we miss that, so when some question, will he get back....when he's fit, he walks back in for me....as does Kamara

of course both of them do and Mings has been a far bigger miss than most people would have thought

it still a complete lack of discipline for Digne to be on the oposite side of the pitch (why?) and fro Luiz to pass the ball back to them to allow a quick free kick.

Isn't this also what happens at the start of the season when teams are just finding their feet, and also in the middle of the season when Cup matches and international breaks and the holiday schedule mean that games are coming thick and fast?

    Basically, it's league football.

not really....you'll get a team down the bottom put a run together out of the blue

a bit like us when we stayed up !!!!

  11. at this stage of the season strange results start to happen

teams drop points where they would have expected not to

teams pick up points where they would not expect to

it happens every season in the run in. pressure mounts from varying quarters when all of a sudden you realise the games are running out.

as has been mentioned previously, there are many more twists and turn to come and not just from Villa.

Guess the next club to fall foul will get 0 right?!

Plucking numbers out of the air springs to mind

yup, they just make it up as they go along

  13. just watched motd again and a couple of things of note for there 1st and 3rd goals for me

1st goal. what the hell was Digne doing on that side of the pitch? It just seems bizarre to me as to why he would be over there in open play.

3rd goal. It's a free kick to Brentford and Luiz casually passes the ball back to a Brentford player. Why on earth do that? Just leave the ball where it is and stand over it until the ref tells you to go away.
