  1. If you don't want a negative response you better keep parents out of this, His name is spelt AFONSO, as stated here!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afonso_Alves
  2. I read on another forum that apparently the Spainish press are denying a deal has been done between Valencia and Sneidjer, and to be honest after hearing what Valencia's manager has had to say about the deal i don't know why Wesley would wanna go there, the manager wasn't optimistic about signing him that's for sure.
  3. Seen a lot of him, have you? I don't get portuguese football on my TV, do you? That's all right then. Alves isn't Portuguese and doesn't play in Portugal. Exactly, I tend to digress the idle folk these days.
  4. You don't think he could turn it around?, i think with a little faith in him he just might be a bargin, look at Kanu for example!!, no-one wanted him when he left West Brom on a free transfer and Rednapp took a chance on him and he was class for them last season, And yes Julie that's the question around Alves, but i think he can, he's got pace to burn with lovely skills, his finishing is class too, we'll have to wait and see, i only hope the big guns don't get in there before us.
  5. You know people might knock Kewell, but we could have said all the exact same things about our very own Berger before we signed him, and although it's been a long time coming he finally showed us what a class player he is, i was shocked to see that Kewell is still only 28 years old, we signed Merson when he was 29 and we all know what he did for us, i just think Kewell needs a change of club and a new start and if we could get him for a decent price then he'd be worth it imo, I'm also chuffed that the Reo-coker link is still around and absolutely delighted that we're linked with Afonso Alves, the man is class and would be a massive signing.
  6. Yeah it took him time to settle in europe after his brilliant spell with Sao paulo!!, but this year he seems to have clicked into gear, Kanoute get's all the praise in Seville but Fabiano has also played his part, this link came out of the blue last week and it seems to be growing, he's got caps for Brazil and he's a decent player for me, he can only get better.
  7. 13 goals in 29 games doesn't suggest that notion is valid. his record this year is nearly a 1 goal every two games ratio in both europe and in the spanish league and he's only 26.
  8. Well it looks like the Fabiano rumours that were going around the other day might be true http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=41179 It was said that Mon was at a Seville game the other day so i guess he was there to watch Fabiano, i remember when he was making waves in Brazil and scoring an amazing amount of goals, he got his big chance at Porto but it never worked out for him there, then he moved to Seville and he seems to have done well, when i look at his record this season it's actually very impressive, he's played 29 games and has scored 13 goals, 3 goals in 7 matches in the uefa cup and 10 goals in 22 la liga matches He's only 26 and can only improve, from what i've seen he's got nice skills and can finish very well, imo he's one of those players who could easliy come to the premiership and have a Berbatov or Mccarthy impact, the only thing is he's got a bit of a temper on him though so he has been sent off a few times but it's nothing Mon couldn't address imo, i think he'd be an exciting signing and he could play alongside any of our forwards. Some vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh4pqY9zsSU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_77iU-GvcM
  9. I'd take him before Reo-coker to be honest, the kid is very exciting and is box to box with no little skill, i think a lot of peoples grip with being linked with the likes of Bellamy, Taylor and possibley Reo-coker is that they're not names that really blow your socks off, even though i'm sure we all agree they'd all add something to the side everyone likes something a little more exotic than they're used to, we want the next Ronaldo, the next Henry or Vieria!!, but sometimes the player who you think might just be "a solid signing" can turn out to be the hero we've been looking for!!.
  10. Because he would be a big upgrade on our squad no question. Don't bother trying to explain krr, as certain people will still fail to comprehend it. Cut it out or you'll get banned. The post had nothing to do with you but because it was aimed at Jez you had to stick your nose in. Last warning - CV
  11. I know your views were that's why i continue to remind you!! , you were on a one man campaign to "prove" to everyone that Milner was "miles ahead" of wright-phillips and i'm sorry but it still makes me laugh!!.
  12. I never saw your Post bicks, and i agree it's over!!
  13. It was against the might of Kenya. Having everything to your game would make you the complete footballer... I'm not surprised you're getting bored of being proven wrong... Was it against Kenya?, care to provide a link?, and nope i said he could still improve!!, having little bits of everything doesn't mean he's the complete player, it means if he works on his craft he can be the complete player!!, Being proved wrong am i?, how exactly?, you've already professed that you can't prove me wrong so you're contradicting yourself again!! ,
  14. He scored for Mali against some other african no marks. No way is that a higher level than The Premiership. Sissoko's played nearly 100 games at club level without scoring...great 'striker of the ball' eh? He needs to improve then? You told me he was the complete footballer earlier... So can you name these "African no marks" then?, or is that just another fabrication? , and futhermore i never said Momo is the complete footballer i said he has "everything in his game and is still improving", if your gonna quote me at least do it properly, please take Blandys advice as i'm falling asleep here!!.
  15. What you mean like Milner is "superior" to Wright-phillips?,
  16. Well he's scored on the international scene which is a higher level than league football, and him being left out of a few games does not mean he'll be out of the picture for good, that's speculation, the way you're talking it's as if he can't improve his game, he's 22 not 32.
  17. How is his age relevant? I'm making the point that you don't have to be talented to win medals. He's a Benitez favourite. I think Everton was about his level until Benitez came in, no other top club would have touched him. You don't know what you're talking about. You've proven this with your comments about him winning them the champions league/Super cup, with your comment about him striking the ball clean....despite him never scoring a professional goal at club level...and with your comments that medals somehow prove whether a player is good or not. You also seem to think he's a great passer, which is ludricous. You're talking like your a damn red scouse season ticket holder!!, you remind me of smarty pants!!, loads of effort but no substance, you have no proof to back up your feeble argument and have been questioned not just by me but by others who disagree with you regarding Momo's ability, how doesn't his age come into it?, the fact that for one so young he's managed to play for two top sides and win things is evidence that a top manager like Benitez and also cuper had faith in him abouv other experianced players. if he couldn't pass and shoot like you've been crying about then he wouldn't be at Liverpool, it's that simple, but i guess you know more about the game than Benitez!!. This debate is getting boring now, and i don't think anything conducive can come out of debating with people who think about drowning puppys!!,
  18. Djimi Traore won the champions league and FA Cup without having any ability at all, it proves nothing. David May won the treble, Shearer's won 1 league title....does that mean May was the better player? You judge players on ability, not what they've won. Obviously you like to judge them not only on what they've won......but what they've haven't won too, like Sissoko winning them the champions league. Arguing with you is like drowning a puppy....too easy and a bit cruel! Yes and Traore was 22 when he won the champs league was he? , Momo won the title in spain when he was around 19 years old, so again your argument is floored, you seem to completely miss the point i was making, that crap players don't win as much as he does and play for not one but TWO decent sides without having all round ability, blimey your idle drivel is in over drive today!!, stop crying and move on.
  19. Of course it's a big mistake. You tried to claim he had some massive influence on them winning the champions league....despite them winning it whilst he wasn't at the club!! Oh and he won them the european super cup, did he? He didn't even come on until after 71 minutes. How can I prove he doesn't pass well? Just watch him and see. In particular, have a look at Man Utd - Liverpool at Anfield, he was awful. Mascherano had a great champions league final and excelled against Chelsea too, all whilst Momo was rotting on the bench! You claimed Liverpool "went out of the champs league when he came" but you also failed to mention that it was when he was injured in the first leg against Benfica and couldn't make the 2nd leg that they went out!!, that's how much of an influence he was, he also got man of the match against Barca too!!, but oh no "he's not good enough!!" , he's won the uefa cup, La liga and the Fa cup!!, all without being able to pass?!!!, yeah right!!
  20. Pretty big mistake to make. And completely blows your argument out of the water, as Sissoko had no influence on them winning the champions league. He was there when they got knocked out in the 2nd round last year though. He can't pass and he doesn't strike the ball well though. That's where I object. Erm no it's not a "big mistake" as he joined them the exact time they won the damn thing, and furthermore at least he won them the super cup, which is more than Mascharno has won them, you have no proof what so ever that the kid can't pass well, and your notion doesn't seem to be in harmony with the scousers either.
  21. No, they didn't. He wasn't there when they won it. Shows how much you know. When Sissoko can score, pass long and short, play through balls and carry the ball through midfield...he'll be fit to be compared with Gerrard, until then he's a black Robbie Savage. Oh my mistake, i mistook the champions league for the european super cup!!, obviously that proves that i haven't seen the lad play of course!! , and excuse me what's momo's race have to do with the debate?, you're going way off course here with your feeble argument, the lad can pass, break up play and strike the ball well, i don't know why those facts hurt you so much!!, it's strange.
  22. Erm yes i have seen him play hence why i think your notion is floored!! , it's funny, with Sissoko they won the euro cup, without him they lost it, i don't think Maschereno is better than him, and i don't know how you can compare Gerrard to Momo when the age difference is about 4 years!!, Gerrard was hardly pulling up trees when he was 22 either, and even when he was 24 he was beaten time and time again by Vieria in the midfield battle, i think Momo has the tools to go all the way, if you don't that's fine, no need to shed tears over it.
  23. He's nowhere near having everything to his game. He's very raw. He can't play killer balls and in fact, struggles to play square balls half the time. He makes McCann look like a footballing genius at times. The shot against Barcelona was an open goal, which he missed, hardly something to remember... No player who can't play a "killer pass" and "play a squar ball" plays for both Liverpool and Valencia as much as he does, your notion is pure fabrication imo!!, and by the way the shot against Barca was hit first time from 40 yards!!, hardly the miss of the season!!
  24. I think that's a bit of a misguided view, the kid from what i've seen has everything in his game and is still improving, Vieira at his age wasn't as good as him many believe, and against Barcelona in the second leg he hit a cracking shot from about 40 yards that hit the bar, he's not that bad going forward, i remember Everton were very close to getting him before Liverpool stepped in, i doubt they'll let him go but he'd be an excellent signing if we did manage to pull it off.
  25. I remember a rumour in the papers not so long ago that said we would do all we could to try and bring Reo-Coker to Villa Park. Yes, it was said we asked West ham to name their price and that Mon would do everything he could to get him, i hope it's true.
