  1. Interesting feature on Newsnight. For me its still between Ed Miliband and Burnham for my vote. Think overall it will be between the Milibands!
  2. It will be David Milliband Id like one of Burnham, Ed Milliband and Cruddas! Harman also if she was standing! Actually Ill say Andy Burnham is my prefered choice, looking forward to being able to vote on this!
  3. Yes, all of us probably (see the debate about ten pages back, where Torys think Boulton won and everyone else thinks the opposite) Only just got in, sorry! According to Twitter he's done it again later with Bradshaw? Sky News going to have some explaining to do at the end of all of this from Ofcom hopefully
  4. Surprised at Simmonds Isn't Berry actually a forward?
  5. At time like this I do sometimes question whether I should move more to the left and become a full on socialist! Why are markets telling us what to do? It's our democracy!
  6. I have to say that a lot of students couldnt believe they didn't need ID (having voted in Brum council electuons every year I knew the score) but for most it was their first vote. Even in Sabb elections we have to show ID
  7. I have no idea how Labour held Edgbaston. Pleased Perry Barr has an increased Labour majority!
  8. Apparently students were seperated from residents in Sheff Hallam, and then didnt get a chance to vote at ten! Unconfirmed at the moment though!
  9. Working at Leicester and seeing them play every home game I'd say Leicester have hit decent form this past month or so. Fryatts back too
  10. Shocking stuff , and no place for people like him (or his party) in Politics saying that it will be hard for labour supporters who didn't condemn Prescott's street brawl to not appear a tad hypercritical if they now condemn this bloke Come on, completely different! Prescott did not kick or hit a man on the floor
  11. Was the first to vote in my ward this morning at 7am Back in Leicester now and helping Solusby until polls close now. Come on Labour!
  12. Thats the thing with the Tory's it's not so much Cameron who I just don't trust, or even Hauge, Clarke or Davis. But Pickles, Osbourne, May and many of the new breed of Tory's and the people that back them, the people who are in Local Conservative Associations, and many others who you don't see on camera I just could never trust. The Tory candidate for Perry Barr, I read an old blog of his today. He said how the new top bracket of tax would be easy to get out of and encouraged people to do so who know how. How is this right? Where is the fairness in this? I have some soft left tendicies, none of which are matched by the Conservative party! It actually saddens me!
  13. think it traditionally has always been that way .. my college invited the Labour MP in and made it compulsory to attend .. ( I publicly walked out within seconds of him starting :-) it wasn't politically motivated I just didn't agree with the fact it was compulsory and that no other MP got invited in to talk to the students I put it down to the fact that Students don't live in the real world :winkold: All of NUS top dogs are Labour. Although a quick wiki search shows that this has often been the case
  14. Btw something I've noticed just by Facebook etc, the majority of Uni students seem anti Tory. And a lot are voting Lib Dem. I predict Libs to do well in constituencys with large student numbers in them, if they bother to vote that is...
  15. Voting at 7am before getting the train to uni. To be honest I now wish I was voting in my uni constituency as its a Lab/ Lib Dem marginal and I know Labour will get in Perry Barr anyway. But Its my last two months at uni so I thought it was right to vote where I'd likely be at for the next five years. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if Labour in Leicester South lost out by one vote though...
  16. Quick question? Why are all the Birmingham seats called Birmingham Perry Barr, Birmingham Hall Green etc yet Sutton Coldifeld is just sutton Coldfield? They are in Birmingham, have been since the 70s. Or is it more to do with what I often hear from Suttoners that they don't want to be associated with Birmingham as its seen as common? BTW they've been handomsely rewarded with projects from Birmingham City Council ever since the Tories gained it so they should be more open to it!
  17. Wheres the story on the Tory who said they could cure gays? Was the most tweeted story on twitter, yet not reported on any of the main news outlets?
  18. Just had some shiny leaflets through from the Torys! The council candidate starts off by saying she dislikes football and is dreading the World Cup (thats a vote winner I'm sure) Whilst the CV of PPC says he advises firms with taxs issues (ahem...) more like dodging tax I'm sure..
  19. Neil to Cable, isn't the biggest myth of this election your reputation" brillant
  20. again ..you'd think by now Cable would stay away from any TV shows with Andrew Neil on them Oh dear hes really being shown up by him now
  21. That would doom Labour for still longer if it happened. As an interim? I think he's come out quite well over the last two years
  22. You know what I reckon Darling could be a future Labour leader, showing up Osbourne well here
  23. Saint Cable being shown up by Andrew Neil and Flanders! Chancellors Debate on BBC2 now
