  1. Im sorry you feel this way about tickets - i really am. There will be Birmingham City fans who have never been to a birmingham match, let alone a Villa one (apart from when they are working in the stands) who will be sitting in the Villa end at Wembley singing for the opposition (in which tickets say if you know of any opposition fans in our end it is to be reported - in which im doing), while there will be loyal fans who wernt able to get to this game because of this. TBH, it doesnt come as a surprise to me - the ticket office as been a shambles for as long as i can remember and i dont see why it would change now. *PS. This is nothing personal towards you general, just venting how i feel about something at the club. Hope your well.
  2. I could understand if they gave some staff loyalty bonus's if they worked there over a few years but its a disgrace. I know a lady who has worked at Villa Park for 21 years, and shes been ill this season so has only done 13 games - and she miss's out on this scheme. I would like to know whos paying for these tickets? We havent spent anymoney in the transfer market - so is this where the moneys going? Or are Villa making such a profit of us that it covers these free tickets?
  3. General This is a bit of a moan about wembley tickets. I understand the way the club is running things, with season ticket holders get priority etc etc. However, i found out today that all staff members will recieve free ticket each for this game. All they have to of done is worked 14 out of 17 games this season. Firstly, why are staff getting free tickets when i know that theres many who support other clubs, including Birmingham City. Secondly, why should they get free tickets when season ticket holders who spend there hard earnt cash paying for the staff wages to get to games, only be able to have 1? I might aswell get a a job on a match day - watch the game like many of the staff do and get a free ticket. I will then save £450 i payed for my season ticket.

  5. Hello General, Firstly i hope you and your family had a nice festive period and i wish you all a very happy new year. Now onto the point of my post. Yesterday sore a very poor turn out at Villa Park of just over 25k fans. I just wondered if the club had any plans to prevent this of happening again? With the credit crunch and the cost of games in the premier league the costs do start to take there toll on the average football fan. Yes i know Villa dropped there prices to around £15-£20 - but even i knew this was never going to fill Villa Park. We now have been drawn against Brighton, so we will be lucky if we get that sort of crowd for that game unless we drop the prices a lot more than what we did against Blackburn. Im talking say £10 for adults and kid for a quid maybe? Surely the club would make around the same amount if we had a full house from fans paying them figures and the money they would spend on the concourse's? Ill leave this one with you to have a think about and maybe discuss this with the board in the future. Best wishes.
  6. Im running a coach and i have 4 seats that have just become available. We are leaving Birmingham City Center at 2pm. Seat cost: £17. These seats are on a first come first serve basis. Contact me for more info: avstu@avillafan.com
  7. Hello General, We havent spoke in a while so i hope all his well with you and your family. Now onto my issue - the upkeeping of Villa Park. You could call me a little sad but sometimes when im bored (usually in the summertime), i tend to take a drive to Villa Park and just look around at what i like to call my second home/church - whichever suits you best. Anyway ive noticed on a few occasions of late that not all the lighting Has been working on the signage that can be seen on the M6 motorway on the Doug Ellis Stand. Are the club aware of this? And another point, when Randy took over he had the North Stand jetwashed down so it looked cleaner and with this being one of the first stands people see when arriving at Villa Park i feel this should be done on a regular basis. It looks very dirty and grubby at the moment. Does Randy or any of the team have any plans concerning this matter? Thanks for your time.
  8. Lol nope ive just been enjoyed a pretty good season. I fully enjoyed my trip to Hamburg and if its affordable im planning on heading for Malaga for Villa's pre-season tournament. Another question for you. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all have there own television channel on Sky/Virgin here in the UK. Do Villa have any plans to follow suit? Im sure im not the only person who would love something like this.
  9. Hello General, I havent spoke to you in a while so i hope both you and your family are happy. Now to my point on the season tickets that has already been discussed. I personally renewed my season ticket but as i run another villa website away from Villatalk i get to see what a lot of peoples views are and some are because of the losing streak. No fan likes to see there club lose 1 game let alone have a poor run in the way we have - and im sure once the dust settles in the summer more people will renew than it seems. Also, i know Villa are still one of the cheapest around however its no secret that this country is in financial difficulty and price's compared to say 10 years ago are ridiculas in football. Thats nothing particulary aimed at our club but its a fact of life. £400 to watch 19 games of football is a lot of money. I was thinking that maybe the club could offer some kind of reward scheme for season ticket holders in future season in cup games. Its no secret that we struggle to fill the ground when we play against lower league sides in the cup competitions so maybe season ticket holders should get free entry to reward them for sticking by the club? Surely those fans spending money on food and drinks and even matchday programmes in the ground is better than not having the fans there at all?
  10. avstu (mainly playing fifa09) Feel free to add me
  11. Hello General, The Holte Pub My girlfriend works at Villa Park as she has told me just how unsuccessful it has been to fill the Holte Pub on a consistant basis. May i suggest the Villa actually treat this more like a pub and not a posh bar? This is something that puts a lot of Villa fans off. Also, instead of this lottery thing on match days have Villa thought about having a first come first entrance system in the Holte? That way people that do like the place will pack the place out to the rafters on matchdays and it will probably have a knock on effect in midweek when the pub is empty and just losing money. Tickets I would like to give credit to who evers idea it was to do the combo deal for the two uefa cup fixtures. Im a season ticket holder and go to over 50% of away games a season im just gutted im gonna miss the biggest european night at Villa park for a long time when we play Ajax due to a holiday. Atmosphere Now on Villatalk, my website (i know your know my website) and numerous over Villa websites a lot of fans moan about the lack of songs at Villa Park. In the paper i read this week that Bolton are helping the fans to create a better atmosphere at the Reebok by giving out songsheets and a free pint to there first so many in the ground. I was thinking Villa should look into doing something like the songsheets for games? Hopefully that way some new songs will be sung in the Holte End and generate a even better atmosphere down Villa Park?
  12. General, A question a bit out of the blue if you read what everyone else is talking about. What is the clubs policy on flags at the ground? Do they have to be certain size? would there be a problem if a flag had a website url on it? I ask this because when you watch football in general i have noticed quite a few grounds around the premier league have fans flags with fansites on however there dont seem to be any at villa park? On the Barry matter. I like Barry but im fed up on the whole story. I trust MON and the board and no.1 single player is bigger than the club so whatever the future holds for barry then so be it. I just hope MON doesnt let is interupt anymore of our preperations for the new season. Best Regards
  13. Hi General, I have a couple of points i would like to bring up but firstly, your post about the PR and how transfers are being run etc, was spot on. I was shocked by how you expressed somethings, but at the same time shows passion. And its what we all like to see. 1. Regarding Transfers. Now in this day and age i understand football clubs cant shout about every deal they may or maynot be involved in. But i ask you to see it from a outside point of view. We the fans pay a lot of money (still the cheapest around - thankyou) but regardless, its still a lot of money. We also love Aston Villa to bits, just like yourself and probably Randy. However, You and Randy know whats happening being the scenes. We dont. We hear stories after stories after stories but dont see much action. Thats not to say MON isnt working is bollucks of, because i believe in that man and have every faith in what hes doing. But sometimes, it would be nice for someone to come out from the club, and just state where we are in transfers. Like let us know we are talking to clubs and players, maybe drop a name or two. Its just to reasure. Hope you understand what im saying, and dont take it the wrong way. 2. I just want to say i do appreciate everything that Randy and MON has done for the club.
  14. General, I know you tend not to talk to much about transfers however i have noticed you have said certain things about certain deals, naming the David Bentley one when you stated that we have placed the highest bid for the player. I was just wondering, if you knew if MON had a number in his head of potential signings he would actually like to bring in? I know what you want and what you get is two differant things but it would be nice to have a idea.. Thank you.
  15. HAVE YOU SEEN THE CUFFS ON KAREN BRADY SHE WANTS TO GET THEM OFF I HEARD HER SAY BUT SHE IS GETTING SENTENCED TO A LIFETIME WITH THE BIG BUTCH GIRLS THAT LIVE IN HOLLOWAY OH BIRMINGHAM ARE YOU LISTENING...
  16. A couple of things General. Firstly notised scaffolding up at the Holte End the weekend, is this something to do with the new mosiacs? 2. I read a article in the paper about the Birmingham council wanting to shut down the k block in the holte end for persistant standing. May i point out that as much as rules are rules, away fans across the country do the same thing. Fans at stadiums like Old Trafford, St James Park and a few others also do the same thing. He mentioned ignoring stewards. I will admit last season they got on our case's a lot, this season i havent heard one steward to ask us to sit down? So how can this man make this statement? 3. And finally, ive been reading some other Birmingham City forums, and have read that at least 12 Birmingham City fans will be sitting in the Trinity Road stand for the game. I thought the club had done everything to prevent this sort of thing? And if a Villa fan has got these tickets for a Birmingham fan, i think he should also have his/her season ticket taken off him.
  17. General, Firstly, a good turn out considering the conditions last night. 39k isnt bad, specially when boro probably brought about 100 down. Well done to all those promoting the game. Secondly, i along with many other Aston Villa fans are getting increasingly sick of the same old chants at Villa Park. Now, for this to work i believe the club and the fans need to work together. You will always get around 50 lads in the Holte End or in various pubs before matchdays singing old and new chants. Yet soon as your in the ground they get drowned out by songs about our rivals all the time. On the internet, two villa websites for example (Villatalk: http://www.villatalk.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=27592 and my site: http://www.avillafan.com/fanzone/chants.php ) have loads and loads of chants. So i was thinking, maybe villa could get some cardboard holdups, maybe a big villa badge or something like that, like they do with the England flag at england games but on the back of them, print some chants of. Print some on the main website, maybe even in the claret and blue magazine. Is there anyway this could happen?
  18. Im 22 years old general and ive never seen us win any real silverware so thats the only thing i could ask from you guys. Witch would mean money being spent, which im sure will be this summer. Otherwise i think the new board are doing a fantastic job. I enjoy going to the villa again. I love the matchday experience. One thing i would like answering, i sit on the backrow in the Upper Holte End. However, as we all know the 'actual' back row - no1 sits on. Whats the reason behind this? and are there any plans on it reopening?
  19. General, You have been here for some time and time and time again you are always answering questions. So i would like to ask you "If there was one thing you could ask the fans what would it be and why?"
  20. Well im very surprised villa agreed to this if im totally honest. The General did a interview with my website a few weeks back and we asked him a question about this and this was his reply.. So im very shocked. I think its wrong to put down randy also, without knowing the reasons behind agreeing to this.
  21. Hello General Boards at clubs like Man Utd and Liverpool, promised them a lot but have got there clubs into debt and faced a fan backlash. Im very happy with things at Villa Park atm (except lack of transfer activity) but do you think we have the right people to ever prevent the same sort of thing happening? I know Randy has used his own money to run the club over the past 2 years, but we cant relie on his money forever. And i was just wondering, if Randy was to up and leave tomorrow morning, would the club as a whole be financially stable also?
  22. We are getting a fantastic deal. Dont get me wrong - and compared to the rest of our competition (the Premier League) we are one of the best. However, i just feel a football club is run on its loyal supporters. The ones that are there through thick and thin, the ones that will be there when we are fighting relegated or europe. Thats your backbone of your football club and £400 a season is a lot of money - like i said it is cheap compared to most. But im a fan just like everybody else. Why can i want more? Just like on the pitch - if we win the league we will want the champions league. You always want more and ive always been told you dont get unless you ask?
  23. Hey General. Me again. Just wondering if the club has thought of some kind of loyalty bonus to all those who renew there season tickets each year. Maybe a free tour of the ground, or free shirt printing like they did a few years back.
  24. General. Whats the clubs policy on flags in the ground? Is there a limit to the size of them? Are some words not aloud to be used? For example say villatalk wanted a flag with villatalk.com on - would that be allowed?
