This is a message for all those reading to explain just what a great bloke the General is and also a massive thank you for what he did. I got in touch with the General a few days ago now explaining that a user on my own website (i will not name) couldnt make the game with Blackburn next weekend because she is due to have a operation. She planned her operation so she could make the game before it got re-scheduled. Despite being deeply upset about the game being changed she understood that the fixture change was best for the club. So like i already said i got in touch with the general explaining the problem. He asked me for her phone number, in which i gave. The lady in question (Jackie) recieved a very friendly call by the General himself wishing her good luck with her operation and a speedy recovery. This made Jackie a very happy lady and has cheered up a lot. So i would personally like to thank the General for being such a great person. And i would like to repeat what Simon said above and state that despite us fans - we will always have something to complain about. Thats what we do best. However we appreciate your hard work for turning this club into a big family. And like Simon said in the above post, we wouldnt change yourself or the rest of the team that work so hard behind the scenes to make Aston Villa the great football club it is. A MASSIVE THANKYOU.

General.. I have looked back at some of the posts i and other users have made and i would just like to credit yourself for the responses you have made. You have said it as it is but at the same time you can tell you look out for the welfare of both our club and us the fans. Its just great to have someone who can communicate with the fans and will listen to what we have to say. Keep up the good work.

Regarding Ticket Prices.. Surely nocking say £5 of each ticket would of made so much differance. Plus they would of made there money back by food and drinks sold during the game surely? Id rather have a full house and villa making the money through the catering etc, rather than a empty ground.

Blandy Another thing why is it the stewards insist u sit in the holte but allow away fans to stand the whole game? They cant say they cant make them sit down, but chelsea made both villa and man utd sit down at stamford bridge. One rule for one side and another for the other again. Security is a big issue at VP.

General, Todays game was tipped to be a high security one purely due to the amount of away fans that come in. Home supporters have been complaining that the stewards at the ground are poor, power mad but dont actually stick to the rules. How the hell did Manchester United fans manage to get flares INTO the ground, let alone let them off. This is a very poor security issue, this could of quite easily been a explosive - Anything. Also, Manchester United fans in the holte end, we warned the club about this yet they still got in the home stands. After the second goal today some people may or maynot of notice a scuffle at the back of the holte end. And guess what a Manchester United fan was found out. I also got kicked by a steward (may i add ive just had a operation on my knee cruciate ligaments) and tonight im sitting here back on painkillers because of this so i will be making a official complaint about this. But once the dust had settled i was shocked to hear one of the stewards say to another 'i knew he was a manchester united fan from the start' - SO WHY THE HELL DIDNT HE PREVENT THIS AND MOVE HIM? The fans got overpriced today - and then i experience these sort of things. Im a season ticket holder and tonight im a very unhappy one to, and not because we lost. General, There are a lot of Manchester United fans planning to sit in the Villa HOME stands this coming weekend. I know the club is against trouble at football etc but come on what do you expect if these have managed to get hold of tickets. Ive read around 6-7 manchester united forums where fans have said they are in the villa home ends. What does the club propose to do to get these out of the ground? And also, stop this happening again.

Firstly what a great story. Nice to know that there are generous people around. And theres nothing nicer to hear than someone with a big role and say in the club come out with a comment like... "but this is Aston Villa Football Club and we are Family" Priceless. Happy New Year General.

Great report. Made very interesting reading. I usually go in the aston hotel - you can sometimes can a atmosphere in there after games when you get supporters clubs down there like Worcestershie Villains - they always make themsleves heard!
