  1. The thing is Celtic have quite a few anthems and a lot of them tend to be from like really old songs - country stuff - Maybe someone into country music could suggest something?
  2. I think this is a fantastic idea of trying to get this done. I think the best suggestion has defernatly got to be 'Stand by me' Other ideas could possibly be a song from a Villa artist. Maybe a Twang song or even something from Ash? Also, when do you plan on starting to get this going, and how do you plan on getting it going? After all talk is of course cheap!
  3. Complete lack of respect to the fans, and Aston Villa Football Club! It's time for the board to actually admit they are wrong.
  4. General, If the board dont take action soon it will be to late. Theres only so long a manager can hide behind excuse's. We have a fit Carlos Cuellar on the bench - He should be given a chance when the back 5 has been terrible this season. Theres to many players not earning there pay packet and its about time players got punished for not wearing that shirt with pride. THEY ARE NOT FIT TO WEAR THAT FAMOUS SHIRT.
  5. Ok then mate, I didnt know as I dont tend to look back that far on pages.
  6. No disrespect intended here General but you keep jumping on people for stating there opinions about what happened at the club this summer etc. Well why not just come out and actually tell us as fans WHAT ACTUALLY happened? And then maybe some out there would actually understand. If the club did nothing wrong like you say we didn't, then I don't see why they haven't come out and stated exactly what happened? BTW. This isn't me having a go, its just I've read time and time again people stating what happened then you saying stuff back.
  7. General, When will the stewarding around away fans improve? I have spoke to so many away supporters who have visited Villa Park and they describe it as a great away day as they 'get to do what they like'. Once again away fans got on the pitch yesterday and I think I personally sore about 6 on the pitch with 2 getting kicked out, and the other 4 just being pushed back into the crowd. Im sure a lad got kicked out against Birmingham for falling onto the pitch. So how come it appears to be a different rule for away fans? And also because this has been happening for so long now when will this be stopped? It doesnt happen at grounds like the Emirates, Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford so why is it happening at Villa Park?
  8. General thanks for replying and I wont go into slating the manager (after such a short time) nor the chairman as he is a man i have a lot of respect for. Im sure you understand we all read the press about players coming in and players going out and although probably 99% of the stories arent true but this is all us football fans have because football clubs cant say to much, especially in this day and age. I had a fantastic time over the past few seasons with away games, and the two trips to wembley last year. I can only dream of more in the future. As your moto goes 'PROUD HISTORY, BRIGHT FUTURE'
  9. General, What Im about to say doesnt really need a reply. More of a read and take notice. I can't help but be worried about our club at the moment but at the same time I understand the way MON left he didnt leave us in the best situation. Some might say he finished our season off before it began. However, you have put your faith in Houllier and I will get 100% behind the manager so I beg that you listen to this man and his expertise and allow him the funds to do whatever he feels he needs in the next 2-3 transfer windows. Clubs like Man City and Spurs seem to be leaving us for dead, and then all the work you have done since you have been here will all be undone unless we step up and take some action. Regards.
  10. Hey General, Just a question about the kit - of a different kind though. Im sure when the club predicts its yearly income that kit sales are involved in these sums. So I was just wondering with the kit coming out so late, what effect could this have - if any - on the potential profit of the club this financial year? Regards Stuart
  11. General i do apologise, I thought you came on the forums for us as fans to express our concerns about certain issues, not only to come on here and currently praise Randy and yourself. And again, in what I said, not once did I say anything about the board - I simply replied by what you said. Don't compare Villa to other clubs if you dont like it when they reply back about others.
  12. The fact is general - Your comparing us to Birmingham? Who charged season tickets holders £5 for the league cup game last night? And Villa are charging double that? Its not me bringing other clubs into it but yourself Aston Villa is Aston Villa not Birmingham City or any other club! And your also saying its acceptable to rise prices for home fans because its a 'big game?' so in fact its more about making money than how happy your fans are? You talk about transfers etc - I would understand if we actually spent some money in the summer. £24 million for Milner, 20k+ season ticket sales etc.
  13. Hey General, Couple of points to make. Open Training Session: I always think things like these are fantastic and i believe its a credit to the club that they always do features like these so that many youngsters who may not be able to get to matches for whatever reason can get along to villa park and see the players. Couple of negative issues on this though is the attitude of security around Villa Park. I went down to Villa Park today to purchase some tickets while this event was about to kick off, and the security on both the main car park and the Holte End car park were extremely unhelpful to myself aswell as others and spoke to me like i was a piece of crap you would step in on the floor. The second issue is maybe on events like these because of the amount of kids there should be some kind of lollypop person on duty around the ground. I noticed many people struggling to cross roads because of the amount of traffic. Ticket Prices: I can't help but notice that we are days away from the Midlands derby with Birmingham and we still have tickets available. Now i know the club try there hardest to listen to fans but £43 for fans - especially in a area where unemployment is a very high i think is disgraceful. Now this doesnt effect me as Im a season ticket holder - but I would rather see VP full, than half full so i really think stuff like these should be looked at. Regards
  14. Morning General, Hope all is well with yourself and your family. Just a quick question about the Scouting system. It was well documented that MON's scouting system wasnt the best, and that one of the reasons Houllier was being appointed was to sort out this problem. I was just wondering if he has started fixing this problem and if you are able to tell us what steps he has began to take? Oh, and i heard a rumour that Kevin McDonald has been linked with a few manager jobs in Scotland - just wondering if theres much truth in this? Thanks General.
  15. Morning General, I know your coming over to the UK today so Im not sure when you will be next on so lets hope by the time you read this the lads have got 3 points against Everton. My question or even idea isnt manager related or transfer related as I feel although we are all frustrated you can only do what you can so best of luck with that. Mine is more about how empty Villa Park is for Europa League games and League Cup games. Im sure your well aware about the current economy but many season ticket holders have just splashed out £400+ for a season ticket and although its fantastic value for money compared to most surely the clubs priority has to be filling the ground on a match day so may i suggest you offer season ticket holders some kind of special offer. We have around 27k season ticket holders I believe and if you could get just half of them to take up there seats for cup games you could be on to a decent winner here. Maybe offer season ticket holders of so many years free entry? or even entry for as little as £5. I know you drop the prices but £15 is still to expensive for some in the current climate. Anyway - just a suggestion. Hope all is well.
