For me, he is probably one of the only world class players we have had in the last twenty to twenty five years. Its a real joy to have someone like him at our club, lets hope in the near future we get a few more of his caliber.

That bit in the first half when he took on the 2 man press in our own box and just stepped away from them without a care in the world I bet some villa hearts skipped a beat
This panicked me so much lol! I'm used to us trying things like that, messing up and conceding from it. It was brilliant, but scary in equal measures!

Dominated without creating much.
I'm really not sold on Ash playing as a number 10

Agree. Also surely the red flag option results in Max having 5 laps to overtake Lewis anyway…with his tire advantage.
I thought they could change tyres under red flag conditions?

No chance he should have saved it in my eyes. He cannot see the ball because Targett is in the way, Targett misses the header about 8 yards out, which doesn't give Emi enough time to get across to it.
Yes he should have saved the Rice one, but I don't think that means there is a weakness there.

I think that you hit the nail on the head. Don't burn out the younger players.
It may be the same with Young. How do you drop him when he played so well on Saturday? Don't burn out the older players.
It might have been different if it weren't a midweek game sandwiched between two weekend games...
Im sure i read a quote from Gerrard about young after the game at the weekend which said something along the lines of "he was brilliant but we have to remember how much football we have in December and be aware how much his body can cope with". I took that as Gerrard saying Young can't cope with playing a Saturday then a Wednesday

Don't forget to do the midweek games guys!

What's that sorry?
They are just as bad as Crypto, people seem to think that because there is no travel, no physical materials etc that they don't do any damage to the environment, however that just not the case. While people are trying to clean them up, its just not there yet.
For example;
QuoteTake “Space Cat,” an NFT that’s basically a GIF of a cat in a rocket heading to the Moon. Space Cat’s carbon footprint is equivalent to an EU resident’s electricity usage for two months,

Gutted I didn't get any of my picks in the main ballot. Tried the triathlon, swimming, the diving and cycling road race and got nothing - I thought I had a decent chance with those ones

4 goal involvements in 6 games is pretty good. I think he's been excellent, as I said a few pages ago he's a much better all round player than I'd appreciated.
this is where I am at with him, he has surprised me at how good his work off the ball and his link up play is.

Indeed. I posted about that either in here or in the Hause thread. I just hope MacPhee has realised how much of a beast Hause is in the air. I'm sure he has.
I wonder though, if Hause didn't necessarily have a main role in the set pieces as he isn't a guaranteed starter where as Mings is? I.e Hause is doing what role Axel would usually fulfil who isn't as good in the air as Hause.

Agreed. Also sounds like he’s been reading ‘inverting the pyramid’, which I would recommend, but which is a bit of a slog at times. A section in that book looks at number of passes before a goal is scored.
Took me bloody ages to get through that book!

Martinez
Cash Konsa Mings Targett
Luiz McGinn
Buendia Ings Bailey
Watkins
That would probably be the shape and side i would go for against most teams. Having watched Ings now, it seems he likes to work hard and drop slightly deeper anyway, so would make the ideal 10. Buendia played his best football for Norwich on the right I believe so this would suit him, and we've already seen what Bailey can do on the left.
Its just nice having options to be honest.

I've just got this feeling that Deano is going to win the FA Cup for us and finally end our long wait.

To be honest I blame the press as well for fuelling (pun intended!) the problem.
100% agree with you on that one

Complete Representative for Wellingborough. Hope he gets the constant sh1ts for the rest of his life.
Just playing devils advocate here, but maybe he is a landscaper - it's the last week of grass cutting and hedge trimming. Maybe he is worried about not being able to earn a living this week?
I mean he might just be a word removed, but he also might not be?

Looks like fuel shortages, as a child of HGV driver shortages are the next gift for us to enjoy.
we cannot blame the HGV driver shortage on Brexit, otherwise Poland wouldn't be 124K drivers short (which is more than our 76K), Germay between 45K & 60K and Europe as a whole at 400K short - Brexit is not that far reaching.
My figures have come from research done by Transport Intelligence and reported in Cold Chain news (a magazine for the temperature controlled logistics industry)

Are we just buying players in countries with business opportunities now?
I mean if they are all as good as Bailey appears to be, then I'm all for it!

Wellllll I only thought we changed when Bertie came on tbh, looked like Konsa moved to rb and Ashley lb and Ramsey played off the left with ings dropping in to the hole (McCarthy gif) but hey maybe I’m wrong
I agree, I think we changed formation when Bert came on too

I think Dougie's best position is as box to box midfielder like how he played on Sat once Marv came on. He just seems so much more comfortable there

So Emi openly stated Aston Villa did not even do their research and had no clue...
Again. It's really poor from the club but Emi should absolutely not go public with that.
I don't understand this. Why should the club be looking into the requirements of what Emi needs to do/have done for something which is happening while away with his county? All we need to care about is what happens when he returns surely? This is the responsibility of the AFA to look into, not Villa.

The Italians have had almost 80% possession and 27 shots and they are still going to draw!

I must admit, i had completely wrote him out of my memory when i did that post! There is however a question over if jack is world class. Hes excellent yes, but world class? Im not sure he is quite there yet. Emi however is right up there in the debate as number 1 (excuse the pun) in the world for his position.
