I think both are really good actually.
Number one looks cleaner and the lion stands out way more, however i like the fact number 2 has the date on it.
I won't be upset with either to be fair

God I love Dion Dublin.
For those of us not currently in the uk, why? (Other than obvious reasons, but that would just be odd for a declaration of love in this thread)

I think every role I've ever had has been "x days plus bank holidays"
Even if you're over the minimum it's a bit of a dick move to not give out the extra one when most of the country gets it, IMO
I disagree, I don't think its a dick move at all, why should the companies (who are already struggling due to being hit by COVID and now soaring costs due to increase in materials etc) have to foot the bill for another day off in which they had no say in? All our contracts have holidays written as "x numbers of days off (including bank holidays)". If the Government wanted everyone to have this day off paid, then they needed to foot that bill

The timing interests me. I would imagine hes announced it right at the end of the season so that the interest dies down a bit before he actually has to play again. I mean interest in both the distracting media interest that he will no doubt have to deal with for the next few days/weeks as well as the rival fan interest. I'm sure there will still be some chants aimed at him next season, but maybe not as many as if he had to go play away to millwall or something this coming Saturday.

anyone ever been to cheltenham festival? love a day at the races but theres nothing worse than when you pick a busy day and cant get a pint! looks absolutely rammed and can only imagine what the queues are like for a beer!
Being local I regularly go to the new years day meet and this year I also did the november meet (used to be the paddy power weekend). Its busy enough for me on those days let alone during gold cup week. While its got better in recent years, you used to have to decide if you are going for a pint, watching the race or going for a wee, you couldn't do more than one between races! I assume its still like that during gold cup week. Its also £7 a pint, so not a cheap day!

The West needs to stop buying Russian oil and gas, we've got to stop essentially paying for Russia to do this.
With the enormous increase in costs the payback for heat pumps and solar panels and wind turbines is going to be so much shorter. Governments need to go all in investing in these.
We're already moving to electric cars and I see this picking up. People will feel more in inclined to do this now I feel, not just for environmental reasons anymore.
While I fully agree we need to use alternative ways of heating our houses, we just aren't in a position currently to do it. We do not have the infrastructure to deal with installing and maintaining these heat pumps and other renewables on a massive national scale. We haven't invested enough in getting a work force trained in being able to install and maintain these. Can you imagine how many more people would need to be trained to be able to not only install renewable energy on all new builds, but to be able to retrofit to all our existing houses? I deal with a couple of very small contracts looking after these and its a right pain in the backside finding decent and reliable contractors who have the right skills. The heat pumps are also quite unreliable and so expensive to repair, so more investment is needed in the technology too.
If we pushed it really hard from this point onwards, I'd imagine it would still take us 10 plus years to be capable.

Oh man! I’ve only just got my head around 6’s and 8’s, and now you’re telling me there’s a 100?!
Its even worse when you realise that a 6, is really a 4...

I'm a stats nerd so I checked.
1.5 tackles =91st
1.1 interceptions =81st
0.9 key passes =65th
In French league player tables
Compared with our current squad he would be 7th 6th =6th in those stats
Luiz 1.9 1.2 1.3 (5th 5th 4th of Villa players)
Mcginn 2.9 0.8 1.7 (1st 8th 2nd)
as comparison
P.S. I'm not trying to be an arse about this, just that top 100 in a stat in a league is nothing special
P.P.S. Also highlights madness of people talking about Mcginn is surplus to our needs
This would suggest he isn't the upgrade we need then? We need someone who is going to make a real difference, not someone who is worse than our current players.
Out of interest @KiwiVillain, are you able to let us know who is the top 3 for villa in each of the above stats?

It feels like this signing will be a really hard quiz question in 10 years time.
"Who was the 32 year old Swedish Goalkeeper who signed on loan from Roma in January 2022 but didn't make a single appearance?"

If konsa is injured it almost feels as if we need a triple sub at half time.
Konsa for hause
Ramsey for anyone
Watkins or ings for coutinho

So far i think we look decent going forward and can see us scoring, however we look poor at the back and can see them getting another couple if we dont tighten up

They wont be signing half the players they're linked with now if they go down - some of them don't want to take part in a relegation battle, so they wont want to be playing in the division below. They'll have to go down our route of buying what they see as the best of the Championship with an overpaid mercenary or two thrown in for good measure. Wolves had a thought out plan mixed with a lot of luck.
It didn't work for us and it won't work for Newcastle.
Surely they will all just negotiate a relegation release clause? I'd be amazed if Trippier hasn't got one too

Thats embarrassing. Can you imagine the stick they would give us if it was the other way round?!

Sad for the Plymouth fans that the last train home is 8:20, it shouldnt be allowed that a game finishes with fans having no hope of getting a train back

Forgot to do a few of the games over christmas. I think realistically my goal is just to try to catch the top 10 now and try to stay there!

On the positive, i felt that was possibly buendia's best game today.
Ings looks better on his own without watkins. So moving forward i think it needs to be one or the other.
Im still not 100% sure how we managed to lose a game we dominated

The second goal in particular still winds me up to this day.
I thought the 1st goal was awful. Lescott doesn't have Long marked at any point in that move, even allows him just to drift off his shoulder and doesn't even bother jumping to compete. thank god our current defense/team isn't like that anymore.
Out of interest, can anyone remember why there is so much paper/litter round the edge of the pitch?

It is really annoying seeing them improve. They were a team I was targeting us finishing ahead of
I think a few people did. They are probably just ahead of us at the moment. Depending on what summer both clubs have, i think they are one of the teams in the mini league above us we need to try to catch.

Seems so stupid that the media knew about this a good twenty minutes before the announcement. Surely the fans should be told as soon as its known
