  1. If you honestly think that Goldsmith is not one of the "elite" and then try to justify it by trying to compare he and his background to Balls and Harmen, then you are wrong. But as normal I don't expect you to see it that way especially comments about a Tory, so we will have to agree to disagree I fail to see what difference it makes if he’s the son of a billionaire. Labour’s constant and often hypocritical desire to play the elitist card, despite having a couple of the so called “elite” in their own party, is quite sad. 29,000 people voted him in. That’s the only measure of the man worth a jot as far as the public are concerned.
  2. I’m sure Harriet Harman will make him feel welcome in the palace. Honestly, give up the hypocritical class war bollocks. Please do not tell what I can and cannot do. Goldsmith is part of the "elite" and you may not like it being mentioned but the facts are quite simple and there for all to see I find it incredibly trite and hypocritical when there’s people like Balls and Harmen in the Labour party to bleat on about people being privileged in other parties. I don't care that you mention it, I just find it sad that you think its an issue.
  3. If the Conservatives get over that 309 projection by 5 seats, then they should be able to form an effective government with a unionist alliance given the Sinn Fein absenteeism. Either way, given Labours massive loss and Clegg’s Lib Dems really failing to move anywhere but a few steps backwards, I fail to see how a Lib-Lab pact could possibly work with Brown as the PM. I expect him to be gone by Monday, especially given the jockeying for position seen in the Labour party via Balls and Johnson.
  4. The mountain was ultimately just too high to climb, as even though they’ve taken a mountain of seats, the Conservatives of 01 and 05 left them with far too much to do.

  6. I just voted for James Morris. He's a good candidate, far better than the bint Labour are replacing their incumbent with.
  7. What’s a bloody convict doing voting over here?!
  8. And even that’s not reliable, isn't that right Neil?
  9. The Conservatives have a 7 point lead, so when you factor in the issues over poll uniformity and the margin for error, coupled with the fact that Tory grandees (like me) haven’t voted yet, there’s a good chance of a Conservative win.
  10. The Conservatives will be getting my vote a little later on.
  11. Moving abroad has never looked so tempting................ But, where to if the situation is global? To a place that hasn’t got a deficit or a debt that makes it look like the country has just paid fought World War II. Like Australia.
  12. I suspect Kemp is driven by the dislike for Murdoch’s right hand woman, Rebekah Brooks. Didn’t she beat him up once? (That was during the Sun’s campaign against domestic violence). I think that’s the sort of domestic violence we can all get behind.
  13. I don't think you are allowed to just walk around in a balaclava are you (here)? You’re requested not to cover your face in shops and banks and so on, but otherwise, I saw a couple of people on Friday walking around the Trafford Centre doing their best impressions of Batman and the IRA.
  14. And if she was Belgian? She could always go to Abercrombie and buy a nice hoodie instead.
  15. You do realise this only 'supposedly' a christian country? Really, its an atheist one. We’re officially a protestant country.
  16. Just pre-ordered this on Zavi. I’ve never pre-ordered a game before, so can I expect delivery on the date of release?
  17. The first seats to declare are usually in Thursday (Sunderland?); the polls close at 10; and last time the first was declared at 10.45! The quickest was 10.43. But nothing will be clear until late Thursday. Usually one seat will give a good idea of who if anyone will win; it used to be somewhere in Essex, but I am not sure which one it will this year. I am quite excited by the spectacle this year, so I think I will stay up... No I know when they close, I’d just heard that there would be no counting and therefore no declaration till Friday. I hope that’s wrong, as I like watching results night. It’s a bit like watching the longest FA Cup draw you’ll ever see.
  18. Am I right in thinking that the results won't be decalred till Friday?
  19. I find this all very interesting with regards to the Eurozone. Currently we have Greece who are in desperate need of a several billion Euro injection into their economy, with their deficit spiralling and the cost of borrowing going the same way. Yet we have the Germans sitting on their hands and unwilling to act due to a local election coming up in early May and public opinion being 85% against an economic bailout for their single currency partners, while other countries appear to be suffering from a domino effect as mentioned above. It doesn't bode well.
  20. What happened before the clip on the 4 website?
