If we miraculously win at Anfield and Spurs lose against Brentford, we could play out the most dull draw in football history against Brighton on the final day.

Haawaaay the toon. I think.

Regardless of the final two results, he’s done an outstanding job. Liverpool away will be a fixture that he will no doubt have a meticulous game plan for.

Realistically need a point at Liverpool and Spurs to lose against Brentford now. Not beyond the realms, but options are getting fewer

Amazing what can happen when the ownership, coach, team and fans are fully aligned. If Brighton come to our place and get a result against that atmosphere, they’d deserve it.

When I thought I was out, it pulled me back in again.

I think it’s going to come down to the last day, needing to beat Brighton for europa conference. I fancy it still.

I’ve always respected and admired Manchester United. A fantastic club with knowledgeable, loyal and not at all fickle fans. I wish them the very best for Brighton this evening.

I have never understood the beef with Purslow. Made a dodgy appointment, but two strong ones have also come in under his watch.
Hes a very strong communicator and good Chief Exec for us. Beth Rigby is a very tough interviewer to be taking on, it takes a very assured person to come out of an interview with her smelling of roses. He’s done well there.

Mammoth job the man has done. I love how fans are now clapping when the ball is recycled and passed back to the centre backs. We have been educated.

I mean I get the ST increases even if I don’t like them, and I really like the guys running the club but this seems like a misjudgment to me.

Completely agree. Times are tough and people have had their wallets squeezed, but we can’t expect the club to carry additional expenses. I have the upmost sympathy for anyone who can’t afford to go anymore - I still have a season card but the cost of travel from Devon means that I only make 12/13 of the fixtures a season now.

A sad reality that despite the owners generosity and wealth, we are fundamentally a business still.

It's a strange sight. At the moments he receives the ball I want him to whip them in the box as it is all I have been accustomes too, yet he takes a touch, takes a dribble, knocks it past or through someone and is in the penalty box drilling it to someone.
What a signing.
I had exactly that moment yesterday when he dribbled in the box to set up Ramsey effort off the bar. I almost bemoaned him for trying too much. I will learn the error of my ways.

A full back with end product. I’ve heard about these players but never seen one at Villa before

A point against Newcastle would be very useful in the bigger picture for Europe this weekend, especially as Chelsea play Brighton, Brentford are away at Wolves and Liverpool travel to their bogey team in Leeds.
Chelsea, Leeds and Wolves wins would really propel us. Us winning on top of that and it’s really on.

I doubt there’s many players with a better YouTube compilation of goals and audacious flicks than Traore. His side foot finishes, volley or placed, are quite brilliant.

Would have to suspect there’s a decent pay packet attached to this tournament. Have no real issue with playing fellow premier league teams in pre season, but from the outside you can see why the PL appears an increasingly closed shop.
-
I think finishing 6/7th will mean far more to us than European football. I can see the next level of the owners ambitions being pushed on.

Friendly reminder that if Emery had been with us since start of season we’d have 58 points.
Third with a cigar in our mouths. Sensational work by everyone.

The team spirit is pretty special at the moment. What a great moment for Bertie after the last few months

Let's see for tomorrow.
We really really really need West Ham to do their usual sit in and bore Newcastle to a 1-1 draw.
I jest in the post match euphoria, but if that result happens we can dream!

Let’s call him for what he is. Absolute genius. Didn’t think I could love a manager like we did Smith. There will be tough times ahead, but the man is a class act.

Think there’s a typo in this thread. Should it read top 4, not 7?
