Not for definite, requires the cups to help us out. Goes automatically to the winner of the Carabao cup, but if that winner is already in European competition it will go to the league (not runner up).

The FA cup would also have to be won by someone qualified for European competition to unlock the 7th place scenario.

Terrific player, I just find it utterly insane that firstly we got him for free; and secondly that Marseille allowed his contract to run down like that instead of cashing in.

Have a feeling we may get a profit on this guy.

Class. It’s easy to forget how young he was when he joined given the amount of game time he had. Prime years are still 3 years away too.

Brilliant. Should be thinking about a new deal already for next season. The guy is only going to be a good influence for the younger guys.

I’ve wondered this myself. Seemingly business associates before Villa, but I get the impression Sawiris is mostly the money behind it all and Edens is the sports business guy who’s created successful clubs before - not that he’s short of a penny or two himself.

Thing I like about Sawiris is when you see videos of him on YouTube talking about his businesses, he knows absolutely everything about the details. His knowledge about Nitrogen fertiliser is mad for example. If Villa don’t get it right under him, I don’t think we ever will with anyone.

Noises about Martinez leaving are starting to become worrying. Surely a £70m+ price tag would put nearly everyone off thoughZ

Once the players get used to executing emery's plans better and we replace the few who don't have the skillset to do it, then we will start causing a lot of teams problems. 

This is my take. Emery is a medium to long term plan, he’s basically had to build a style with a group of players mid season - because they were not coached for 6 months.
