I had the results of my CT scan. Not cancer, just no clue what it is, but very happy with that. So off to the doctor's tomorrow for weapons grade pain killers with the vain hope of getting some sleep, and also a referral for an MRI scan. On the pain scale my hands are an 8 or 9.

    Liked for not being cancer.

Might be worth just booking an MRI scan privately - you'll be seen quickly. There are Nuffield places in Newcastle Under Lyme and Tettenhall, pretty sure you can just book direct with no referral. Around £500-£600 I think. My Dad is going private for a prostate MRI.

  2. Driving back from Telford yesterday, saw a lot of 80s cars on the roads. Turns out there was a classic car show at Weston Park, and they had been there. Made me smile to see some cars that used to be street furniture, but you never see them anymore - like Escorts, 2CVs and Audi Coupes.

Indeed. A couple more twists and turns ahead for sure. I am hoping that dvb barry bannan will have a big say in the final shake up, especially if it means that the great unwashed finally slip round the u bend.

But for now....the bull ring tavern is proppa jumpin' as they plot their way to champions league glory in 3 years, thinking they'll walk the league next season 🤣

You sound more rattled than a rattlesnake shaking some maracas in a metal bucket, while rolling down a gravel embankment.

    Mate.

It's been proven that you mostly stop liking new music around the age of 25. Whatever you like by then is what you'll like forever.

I'd kind of agree, there isn't much post 2004 (when I was 25) that I've loved. It will be out there but I'm just not fussed about finding out.

However, i've discovered more older music as time goes on - I was older than 25 when I started listening to Floyd, Sabbath, Zep, etc.

My neighbours have Sky Glass on the shared wall that's plasterboard. Drives me insane. They live in an end terrace and could put it on the opposite wall.

    I hate them.

People just display a huge lack of consideration. whether its intentional, or just by ignorance.

Drinking I've found that a weird sense of futility has kicked in, yesterday watched villa in the pub had 5 pints, got home had a couple of cans, half way through the 2nd can I stopped and thought why am I doing this? To what benefit? Tipped it down the sink, I do that a lot, 10 years ago I'd have pushed on and finished the cans and probably a bottle of rum, an air of pointlessness surrounds drinking for me now

I still love a drink when i'm out, but i'm far better at regulating myself than I used to be. I'm always in control now, as opposed to getting home with no memory of how I got back, etc.

Yeah, I still might have a bit of a headache the next day, but I don't have the 'beer fear' anymore!

Bumping this never popular thread from the safety of having just beaten Wolves.

At around the 1:25 mark…Paul Stancliffe, I ask of you, what the **** was that?

You don't see bald footballers like that fella at 1:24 playing the pass anymore... pretty sure its Steve Agnew?

Books. I just don't read anymore. Probably read 1 book in the last 4 years. I used to read 2 a week. Then my commute changed.

I get that. I used to read for an hour a night in bed, and on the train to work. Haven't done that for 10 years. Can't concentrate, work is always on my mind on the morning commute.

Shame, as I used to love reading. I always lamely say to myself that when I'm retired or in a no stress job, I'll start up again!

  9. I guess I could add football to mine. I still love the Villa, but I'm not obsessed with the game like I used to be. The fact I could name more players from Luton Town in 1988, than I can today, speaks volumes! Collecting the panini stickers made me a nerd!

Same with cricket. Love to see Worcestershire do well, but the T20/Hundred, multiple franchise leagues around the world, and endless international games, has sapped my enjoyment of it all.

As soon as big money gets involved, the product gets rinsed of all enjoyment.

Where's the next Ronaldinho?  The next Zidane?  Gazza?  The systematic approach by most clubs just seems to suck the life out of it and make it more robotic.

    Just all a bit boring.

Thats an interesting point. They are all so much faster and athletic now, it has taken away a lot of skill. It seems to be all pace and power, instead of dribbling and creativity.
