  1. For me its:

    Breakfast

    Dinner

    Lunch is for wimps.

Depends when you have your breakfast I guess? I have mine at roughly 7am so need lunch around 1pm. Dinner is about 7pm.

I guess if you get up late or don't work then you might be able to get away with just two meals

  2. They flock to Bicester for the brand names. A lot of the Chinese (and other Asian races) are obsessed with brand names. Its prevalent when you visit these countries. Thailand is very much the same. The girls who work in an office will often live in cramped accommodation with no air con, poor washing facilities etc but will happily splash 6 months wages on a designer handbag or an iPhone. Its gives them a lot of kudos/status amongst their peers.

  3. Nice place.. very expensive for food and drink. on Clarke Quay it works out at about £7 a pint from memory with cocktails approaching £10. I had some cracking mojitos in the cuban bar.. about £14 each but worth it IMO. Served out of a jam jar :)

The girls at Hooters are very nice ;) Well worth a meal there to have a look! If you fancy a good night out then Ipanema in the famous Orchard Towers is a good place to party until morning!

I'd go back but as Tony said, not more than for a couple of days.

  4. and if Gregory had of had his way then Shearer might have been the 6th player on that list to have played for us

    :?

    When was that?

The season Merson and Dublin signed. From memory we were top of the league and Gregory wanted Shearer AND Sutton to join (I seem to recall David Batty being mentioned as well)

  5. It's the long haul flights that are the issue and the new breed of super plane will never be accommodated in regional airports

BHX will be decent when expanded and we'll have the crews from the likes Emitates, Qantas and Thai laying over in Solihull hotels again :-)

    :winkold:

Amongst other airlines, it's BA I'm interested in getting to BHX, instead they seem fixated on Heathrow, Heathrow and LHR. :x

BA have no interest in anything outside London.

  6. Need help from the classical experts putting a name to two pieces of music.

Both were played in a TV documentary on Satan screened earlier this week.

    here

First is a famous piece that is always used to symbolise Hell or the Devil - skip to 36 mins 17 seconds in - just can'rt think what it is.

Second is the end credits starting at 58:10

    Thanks

  7. Not a great deal for me this weekend... had a pretty difficult week at work so just chilling out tonight. Tomorrow I need to get my hair cut as it is looking ridiculous! Plus buy a few things for my holiday (off to SE Asia for 3 weeks in 3 weeks time). Saturday night is a curry with my Dad. Sunday will be a day of lounging around watching films

  8. Kinda off topic, but flying back to NZ in a few weeks for a holiday.Flying Cathay Pacific for the 1st time.Anyone flown with them?

I'm flying with them in 3 weeks to Hong Kong. My mate used them earlier this year to get to Manila and said they were superb. Their reputation is excellent - one of only 7 5-star airlines in the world (ratings from Skytrax)

  9. I spent 8 months working at an aero engine maintenance facility (primarily on a GE90 test bed) and that was an eye opener. They dealt with engines from airlines based all over the globe.

All I can say is that the engines arriving for maintenance from BA and Virgin were already in a better condition than those leaving to be re fitted for many other airlines. I think the biggest surprise was the pop riveted patch repairs, dents, pitting and general tired appearance of the budget airlines and asian airlines. Ok they may be able to boast that they buy new aircraft, but don’t ever ever let them tell you the servicing regime is the same as the expensive airlines. You want to know at least part of the reason it’s cheaper to fly some airlines, engine service history.

What Asian airlines? Aren't the majority of the Skytrax 5 star airlines Asian? I can't imagine Singapore, Cathay, Malaysia or Asiana skimping on servicing?

  10. Manchester City are like the enormous black hole pulling everyone in, and now Man United look like they have been sucked in. Today may mark another day that football died.

    Agree.

I remember the days I would go down the park and play football and absolutely love it, rush home and hardly eat my dinner as I would want to be watching the match on ITV, so i would push the food around on the plate and then confess I was full (well, I just wanted to get back into the next room!) where-as now, I choose pretty much everything over football, it has been a slow long death from me, I went through mourning after the Dowd cup final and I, since then have had no love for football.

I bought new trainers instead of Fifa and am yet to buy Football Manager too, I love Villa but everyhing else football related means nothing to me.

The only games I really enjoy are the ones I play myself.

    R.I.P Football.

    Agreed

I think most supporters above a certain age feel the same. I'm early 30's and remember the 'pre-Sky' days and when football felt more enjoyable, even though we were shit for most of it!

Yesterday with the Baggies defeat, I was disappointed for about 5 minutes then forgot about it. More important things in life.

  11. I'm treating myself in the summer to a new watch when I get some of my deferred bonus payments. Thinking a Rolex Submariner (the classic) or a Rolex GMT Master II. I can understand why some people wouldn't want to spend £5k on a watch (or even £500) but for me, its something I want and it will last me a very long time. I don't spent a great amount on clothes or fancy electrical goods/gadgets, which are outdated within a year.

A good watch will last a lifetime and probably appreciate in value if you keep it long enough and look after it. A 1972 Submariner at Blowers Jewellers in Hull is for sale at £9950.. a new one costs circa £5250. Not a bad return for a 30 year old watch!

  12. I'm off to Sharm next week to lie around the pool for a week with my Kindle and iPod as company! I've got Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, spy to read as well as the Bourne trilogy. Any other suggestions for spy/espionage thrillers?
