freiadal friedal !
who?
-
Considering the number of injuries and lack of options in the centre then a point isn't too bad...
... but boy do we need some striking options come January.
-
Just go to hold out for a bit. If we can do that we will get right back on it.
-
I think one of the sides just won't 'turn up'... I just don't know which one.
-
This is the difference though, if the roles were reversed and we were ahead against anyone on the top half of the table, we would be defending for our lives. Sours are not even breaking sweat
I dare say that it is going to take some time to coach that mindset out of the players.
-
Rather PT than Staunton. At least PT has a history of knowing what hes at in the assistant manager post.

If it is Houllier then he must be installed as Manager not some DOF role. If he is installed as DOF with KMac choosing the tactics/ team sheet then we are in for a very long season.
-
Well im happy with Houllier anyway. This place wouldn't be happy even if we got Hiddink.
I'd wager it would be a bloody sight happier than if we end up with Houllier as DOF and KMac as coach :winkold:

So Staunton and MacDonald working together? Thats not dream team material thats nightmare city!
-
As for piciata's comment that we lost a "quality manager and no one knows why", I think I have been pretty specific as to why I think he left...you might want to go back and read some of my posts.
Thanks for answering General and I have read all your posts (I think).
However, until I have heard both sides of the story then I shall not be casting stones either way.
-
I've got to admit that I have never liked Houllier ever since he tried to defend Gerrards two footed lunge on Boateng, but I would support him if he became manager(none of this DOF shit please though). I had hoped that we would find a manager that would get some good football on show but if we can't find a man to do that then I suppose we may as well have one that can make the team win ugly.

General
This summer we have lost a manager of undoubted premiership qualty and as yet no one knows why. We have lost our player of the season to a competitor. We have spent no money on the squad for over a year (wages aside). We have a smaller squad than going into last season. We have no manager. The names linked to the vacant post have, for the majority, been inferior to the manager that has just left.
I'm not saying that the criticism you are recieving is just but please do try and understand as to why emotions are running high.
Thank you for your time.

I don't want Curbishley.
But if it were a straight choice between Curbishley and MacDonald I would choose Curbishley every time.
-
Whether someone is the right man or not will only be told by time.
We have to give whoever comes in a chance and support them whether we think they'll do well or not.
The last thing we need is another Downing/Heskey situation where people will slag them off because they didn't like them from the start - it doesn't do us or the team any good.
Sorry Lexicon if we appoint what I think is the wrong man then I shall voice my opinion as such. The new man would obviously get my support on match day etc. but i'm not going to pretend I am happy with an appointment if I am not.
-
If we get the right man in, I don't mind waiting a while.
This season is now about stability and organising a new plan for the future with a new man in charge. It'll take some time for things to settle down and the new guy is going to want to shape the team the way he wants, so we're in for some new change over the next year or two.
I agree... if its the right man.
If its MacDonald or a manager of that standard then I will have a few questions for the general!
-
Look most articels i have read on it from the more respected papers all suggest that the new manager will be given funds to strengthen the squad, so i don't think it will be a problem. Its probably a good thing as however it is won't rush into getting a few randoms in just to beat the deadline, they will have plenty of time to asses the squad. We should be ok until Jan, we have a decent enough squad if people are on form.
Freudian slip?

If you ain't moving forward, you're moving backwards

Van der Vaart signing for Spurs!
No way. Where did you see that?
Breaking on Sky now
Sadly they are now able to look into a different league of players to us.
-
Keegan would be good as long as we supported him...
With KMac, people are saying it would be a huge gamble, but in all seriousness why not take a gamble?! Lets be realistic, our team is not bad enough to get relegated under any conditions yet we need something big to happen to get into the top four - so why not take the risk and maybe KMac will learn on the job and surprise a lot of people and have us in the battle for fourth by the end of the year? And even if he fails and we finish 10th-12th, it's only one year lost and we can get a new manager next year...
Just consider it. UTV
One year and all our better players wanting to leave.

I have a feeling it will be someone out of the blue.
Someone on the BBC transfer thingie has just suggested we are in talks with Gus Poyet. That would certainly be out of the blue!
And almost certainly bollocks!
-
I read his comments Richard and think you're wide of the mark.
Agreed.
As the club is supported mainly by whinging Brummies, Krulak obviously knows that some people won't be happy whoever the new manager is.
If we get Jol, people will moan.
If we get Moyes, people will moan.
If we give the job to KM, people will moan.
People will moan no matter who the new man is.
Of course people will moan no matter who it is. I just suspect a far higher percentage would moan if KM was given the position.
-
Appointing KMac would be the hugest of huge gambles by the board.
I really hope they won't be that stupid
-
Do you know we're getting better than a Sherlock Holmes script on VT for sussing out the clues & what's really going on behind the scenes
With TT tracking Randy's Jet, we can't go wrong really!
Numpties on Sky never even clocked the handshake yesterday.
Although we could all be more Inspector Clouseau than Inspector Morse...
How Much Will the January Net Spend Be?

I think we will surprise everyone by spending quite big although only on a couple of players or so. I expect us to be uncomfortably close to the drop zone so I think this may well force Lerners hand somewhat.
