Mcleish? On what planet is that even likely? Who are these feckin idiots putting money on shite like that?
-
Moyes won't come, he is far to 'comfy' at Everton and appears to have no real ambition to do much other than manage Everton to top ten finishes. Why would he swap that to manage Villa to top ten finishes? Doesn't make any sense to me.
It will be Hughes.

Talksport reported last night that Martinez was going to turn us down they do have sources
Their source was Whelan. It was obvious from his statement that Martinez was already out of the running.
-
I've just realised that he looks like love child of Steve Bruce and Alex Ferguson.
Hmm... Josh Homme's dad?
-
Wenger would be crazy. Is he getting sick of Arsenal? Does he want the chance to build another dynasty at Villa carrying on where Houllier left over? All I hear out of Arsenal these days is moaning and groaning. Am I delusional for even thinking this?
Yes you are.

Before the 'hair-on-fire, stamping-feet, crying-eyes-out' fans start, McLEISH WILL NOT BE OUR MANAGER.
So calm down.
-
Everything points towards Hughes.
It will be Hughes.
-
My wife's left me.
Is it because you have set up a shrine to Ssschteve that you pray at every night?
-
The most obvious answer is usually the right one.
It will be Hughes.
-
TalkSport know shit.
Their 'source' is reading the back pages of The Mirror. Fact.
-
Why's he gone to Madrid? Mark Hughes isn't there is he?
(It's going to be Mark Hughes)
-
Using my amazing powers of deduction and all the clues provided I have worked out that our new manager will be..
Mark Hughes
Simple really.
-
Wow I'm kinda scared of people from Villa Talk now... you're all stalkers.
There really are some right weirdos on here!
-
Interesting how so many are prepared to state as facts that we will get relegated / will struggle / all the players will leave etc etc based on no facts other than prejudiced opinions.
Villa fans = the new Newcastle, move over Geordies here come a load more fans deluded than you lot
Very true.
The amount of girly footstomping going on in this thread is unbelievable.
-
Martinez would be one hell of a risk.
-
Went for Moyes this time as my first choice has disappeared from the list.
-
I would very much like this sorted before I go to Glastonbury at the end of the month. Thanks Randy :-)
-
Would be very interesting to see a new poll with Jol, Ancelotti, Lambert and Deschamps removed now that they are out of contention and see how their votes would be redistributed.
Let's do it. I voted for Jol
Same here, although to be honest I have absolutely no idea who I would vote for. At the moment it seems to be a sea of average with a couple of pieces of shit thrown in.
-
Still has to be Jol for me..
...oh... shit.. :-(

The only one pushing for McClaren is Graham Taylor....I just hope the club dont listen to turnip head.
Have some respect son, that 'Turnip Head' stopped this club going the way of Sheffield Wednesday

Steve got England playing again, best football since 66 in my opinion. Borough fell apart after mclaren left. I think he over achieved there.
Main thing I have against Hughes is his habit of walking out on clubs. We have already had one tosser do that and I wouldn't be keen on another.
Steve would respect this job and be in it for the long term.
You are obviously entitled to your opinions but I think you are possibly the only person in this country who would claim McClaren 'got England playing again, best football since 66'. Even off the top of my head I would say we played better footie under Bobby Robson, Venables and Hoddle and i'm sure most would agree.
Don't get me wrong I don't particularly want Hughes as manager, but he is still a better choice than McClaren by some distance.
-
The more I think about it logically the more I realise that the board cannot be considering McClaren for manager.
If one of the prerequisites of the job is having experience of managing in the PL then they are obviously placing great credence on the record that the prospective manager has in the PL. If this is the case then clearly both Hughes and Jol have better records and are also, like McClaren, free agents. So they would both be ahead of McClaren on that score.
Then take into account the absolute PR disaster that appointing McClaren would be, compared to... well just about any of the other candidates coupled with the almost universal negative reaction that would be engendered within the fanbase and the appointment of McClaren would appear just pure folly.
It's ok folks, McClaren won't be manager.
Steves club record is good, you could argue he has done a lot more than Hughes has. Yes most people would be against him at first but I think most would settle down and give him a chance.
Steves record with Twente is good, his record with Boro is average at best. Despite the heavy backing he recieved as manager he achieved only one top ten finish, where as Hughes has never finished outside of the top ten when he has had a full season in charge at a club, with much smaller resources, Man City aside.
So yes you could argue, but your case would be weak.

Has anyone else not thought it strange that Valhalla has a picture of Karen Brady as his display picture?
Am i the only one on here that would give her one?
Or am i just desperate?
Sorry to break it to you my friend, but yes, you are desperate
Beggers cant be choosers, and i reckon she does a lot of begging
I'm with Chris, I think I probably would, although I would probably spit on her half way through.
Isn't it a dude?

Employing McLeish would make absolute no logical sense. He actually manages to tick none of the boxes that would be important to come and manage us.
It won't be McLeish
