    Assuming you mean can't... He is a gun player, a big name who will sell heaps of shirts and bring a lot of media attention to the club, he will also potentially attract more big name players. But I would take him just on ability. I had a feeling he was asking a question.

    Depends what we want. If we don't mind a player who scores 7 goals a season (Premier defences are a little better than those from La Ligue), then Carew is fine, Excellent target man, and one to go for, definitely. If it's a goalscorer we're after, not Carew.

    Just seen that list that uncy_chris has drawn up, and very interesting it is too, imo. The name that caught my eye was that of the man who thought he'd put Beckham out of the 2002 World Cup before it started, the Argentinian Aldo Duscher. A good hard man patrolling in front of the defence, I don't think he'd be all that expensive either in terms of any transfer fee or his wages. I wouldn't say I "like" him, but he might be a good shout for Villa.
