I suppose the question is then...is that because Sorensen isnt good enough or Taylor isnt? Alot of comments have come out about no players being forced out. Perhaps a younger player like Foster or Gordon would come in to provide competition and replace Sorensen over a period of time rather than the '1 in, Sorensen out' that so far seems to be the view.

I think we turn on our keepers a bit too easily. Sorensen is a very good keeper and makes alot of outstanding saves. For the money we will need to spend to improve on him I think the potential imporvement to the team will be marginal. If we buy someone then so be it but I think we can afford to wait and pick up a bargain or young keeper. On the whole i'd prefer to spend the money on other areas of the team.

There's something in the simplicity of it that i'm starting to really like, I think because it doesnt actually look like a football badge, or at least any other. For some reason, I dont really know why I thought to myself that half VT'ers probably grew up in the 'Premiership age' i.e. are in their 20's. Anybody older probably cant work a PC anyway! he hasn't scored as many as last season but taking into account that he is playing for a relegated team and has had to play injured at some parts this season 12 prem goals in 30 starts is pretty decent. IMO darren bent is someone who will pretty much guarantee you around 15 premiership goals a season and is also someone who can play as part of a front two or up on his own. He is still only young and will continue to develop and get better I would personally pay what ever it takes to bring him here in the summer. I'd agree with that. I think 15M would not be too much at all 12Million sounds about right to me. 15 would be very much 'top dollar'. We'll have to see who else goes in for him as I very much doubt he'll drop a division. As for Micah Richards, I really do think it's a stretch too far. I can see Chelsea landing him and us getting Glen Johnson on the cheap. That wouldnt upset me at all as with proper guidance he could be a very good player for us.

Megapixels seems low to me, you may regret it in a couple of years and may be worth spending that bit extra now. I also suspect Bicks will advise Nikon/Canon but best to wait until someone better advised than me comes along. I just wanted to put enough doubt in your head to get you to hold off until they do!

And if we predominantly play 4-3-3 next season? Would we be better of with another out and out striker or a player like Pedersen? Or if Carew was heading that 3, do we need cover for him meaning all the talk of Bellamy, Defoe and Bent is rubbish?

I'm torn tbh on whether we need it or not. We have 3 out and out strikers in Moore, Carew and Gabby. Hopefully Moore will see more game time this year but you can never rule out injuries. Ideally you'd look for an additional striker to make it 4. However things get complicated as we have Maloney and Young who can also play as forwards. The issue of formation also starts to crop up. People talk of Bellamy, Bent and Defoe but dont we have those types of player already, is a back up to Carew that we actually need? Then throw in the issue of Gabby and Moore needing as many games as possible to prove whether we do need that proven goalscorer or if they are already in the squad. And also how many other positions also need new players and how much we''ll have to spend. I dont think it's a straightforward issue at all.

In all honesty Dem, i wouldn't buy an attacker this year, well it would be Bent or no-one depending on whether he looked like he was going elsewhere or cheap. Moore and Gabby can do the business imo or at least warrant the chance to prove we dont need to spend £8-£12 million (depending on your tastes ) for that consistent scorer. Buying in another top striker will seriously impede that imo. Bent has proven himself now imo, you talk about Bellamy scoring goals in a poor Blackburn side... well look at the piss poor side that Bent has picked up a shedload of goals in. He could be a monster in a decent side. I think it depends alot on how much we have to spend as midfield and defence need some more bodies and quality.

why is that rubbish? how many golas did bellamy score in a poor blackburn side last year. the facts are he can score goals (he might have a shit attitude) but mon doesnt take no crap. if he misses up he will be out like a shot. look at berger for example ive heard from various people he is an unsettler and look what mon has done to him. belleamy is a class player so if we sign him give him a chance. and stop saying defoe or keane spurs wont sell either of them. for me the likely players we will sign is either him or bent, and bent would be over 10m so iwould rather have bellamy I think the point is Demitri, that there are other players around who can contribute the goals that Bellamy can but without the drawbacks. It isnt as if he is available for a bargain price. I know i'd rather have £12 million, 23 year old Darren Bent with an excellent attitude, than £8 million soon to be 29 year old Craig Bellamy with a career history of dressing room upset and off field controvesy. In fact it isnt even a choice. Bellamy isnt cheap enough or young enough to be worth the gamble compared with the other options. If you look at the years of service they'll give then Bent is by far the cheaper option.

I wasnt sure earlier this year with West Hams form and all but having seen him play 5 or so times in the second half of the season he looks the dogs. And at still only 21, if he's willing to learn he really could go on to be awesome.

I'm going for an automatic relegation. Within that is a hefty fine, possibly a suspension of the parachute payment too. It was a very deliberate and open attempt to bypass the rules. No honest mistake, they knew they were doing wrong and tried to get away with it, their guilt being obvious from the start when they refused to release any details. Quite possibly the change in ownership has saved them. Not that it should mind.

I have it on good authority that Ridgewell is as good as gone. Dont treat it as gospel but when i heard the source i was a bit gutted as I do rate the guy. I also think he's the perfect partner for Cahill in a few years.
