  1. Alan Smith is very passionate and extremely liked by his fellow players, just look at the "For U Smudge"-thingy when Utd won the cup-final last season. I think he would be a great player to have both for the players and the fans, but would he go right into our team? Yes he is better than Angel I think, but not for that exact role.
  2. Actually, none of us believes in the team that are playing now, we need many new players to become successful. But I'm sure you all know that better than me.
  3. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Inter, Aston Villa and Lyon. I know what he would choose, of course Aston Villa. And also Marseille would choose the 10M rather than the 16-19M offered by all the others...
  4. Wrong, wrong wrong. Villa are claret body, blue sleeves, this is how it should stay. The previous regime got criticised for changing it, and with the new owners saying that they understand Villa's traditions, and respect them, the blue sleeves will hopefully stay. I'm not saying an all claret shirt won't look nice, but most importantly, it is not an Aston Villa shirt. You're probably right, and I admit it would change certain values. I am however looking for some change, at least the round badge/logo would improve the kit. If Nike got the job I am certain they would make something we would all be cherishing And Jez, I think most kit-makers would do a decent job. I wouldn't say Nike are known for making shirt of lesser quality. I often prefer Nike myself when buying training-equipment as it is ultra-comfortable, looks very nice and feels nice. Sure the price is a bit stiffer compared to certain alternatives, but that new breathing tech is very comfy. When running it never bothers you at all, and is absorbs sweat and moist just like that.
  5. My brother's a United-fan so I might know a few things about their average players, like that fact that O'Shea would be a good central defender if given the chance (but I wouldn't want him now) and Brown is good defender. Signing at least Brown would be a great signing IMO, and I'm sticking to that no matter what. When you mention Fletcher your whole story falls apart because I think he is truly an abysmal player and I would never ever want him at Aston Villa. I didn't call you a bitch in the sense of the word, I said you were bitchy about the situation and I hardly think it's a yellow card because no offense is made. Wouldn't you be annoyed if I called you a bloody Blues-fan because you knew some of their players? Clearly recommending players like Brown is equal to recommending Zoltan Gera and such players from other clubs. Up the Villa (let's beat Blackburn)
  6. Quite true. But I must admit I think the Nike-kits nowadays are much prettier than the Hummel ones. Boring and uninspiring springs to mind. Adidas or Puma would also be nice. I would want us to have claret kits with blue collar and otherwise details on an all claret strip.
  7. Mr. Charles Krulak; welcome to the best Villa-forum on this planet. I would like to share the greatest appreciation from the Scandinavian Villa-fans, although praise goes without saying. I have some questions though: 1) Will you bring American players to raise interest in the states? 2) Will Mr. Lerner conduct the transfer wheeling and dealing? 3) Will you change our current sponsorship before the deal is up for renewing? To be honest I think we all believe it's rather poor for a club of our stature and it sends out the wrong ethical message in my opinion. I mean; a gambling-company? I'm not the person who cares a whole lot about that, but I reckong certain people do. 4) We currently field Hummel, a pretty lousy piece of garment from Denmark. Wouldn't it be nice to wear Nike on the pitch? Even Puma or Adidas.... send the message to Lerner that the fans would like to change both sponsorship and kit-supplier. 5) Do you know about any positions Martin O'Neill would like to strengthen? 6) Have you heard of David Beckham? I am pretty positive he would make us sell some more kits down at Villa Park! Again; support is too small a word given to the new regime. Cheers from Norway.
  8. You are constantly claiming me to be a United-fan, this is the third or fourth time. Do you have issues or something? Quit being a bitch and realize there are good players outside Villa Park. But I would like to raise another proposal though; what about that Darren Bent? He must be a great player when he manages to score that many goals for such a CRAP team like Charlton. What was it? 19 last season and 6 so far this season? That's pretty amazing stats for a player in a crap team like Charlton. Cos they really are shit and turds. I reckon 9M would get him, and it would be well worth the risk.
  9. You forgot Wes Brown and Fletcher. :winkold: Darren Fletcher is the worst player in the Prem, get your facts right.
  10. No no, I am not an Utd-fan, are you **** mad? Why do you keep saying that? It's getting irritating. Yes I like Ronaldo (did you see him today), and yes I think Richardson is a decent player, and yes I think O'Shea would be a great central defender, but I'm playing a lot of FM and those players are always on the cheap (except Ronaldo). I am a realist, however. Not a **** Utd-fan, you blasfemic bastard What I was pondering was not his abilities, I was asking you about his personal problems. You mentioned Hendrie and said something about his attitude. I am bemused because I think you have ****'all to slam in the table. Pure speculation. I'm not saying he's a great player, I haven't really said I would want him either. He would be a great squad-player, but I have never rated him as a great player.
  11. Interesting. Got any evidence for this statement? I remember him going on loan and cheering when "that" club stayed up...
  12. To be perfectly realistic, I think MON would go for these players: 1. Kevin Nolan 2. Wayne Bridge 3. James Milner Nolan is English and a fighter, typical MON-player. Bridge is a natural assumption, as he is the best left back at Chelsea and available. Milner is a given in my opinion. MON is a bit boring in the transfer-market I presume, he doesn't want to get involved with players who are too big-headed.
  13. Oh dear. Then we should take a look at Michael Owen as well, and why don't we snatch Samuel Eto'o along since we're at it. Heinze has been injured for quite a while and he needs time to be back at his best, which is at a very high level. We must not forget he is onl 28 or 29 or something, it's not like he's 32 like Neville. When fit Heinze is top-3 left-backs in the world, to be honest I can't think of a better one. Cole would many say, but he isn't good enough in defence. Roberto Carlso is way past it and J'Lloyd Samuel has been off it for quite a while.
  14. Why on earth would Gabriel Heinze (United obvious first choice on the left back) leave them for us? Give me one reason. Silly
  15. Yet another: "Let's take a step down" Why? Aren't we trying to go from mediocre to UEFA and even better? What on earth would R. Dunne give us that we ain't already got?
  16. Why are people on about Zoltan Gera?? Clearly he isn't a step uå, clearly he isn't the quality we should be looking for. I am not disrespectful, I'm just trying to figure what this guy has ever done to get such a reputation
  17. 1) I'd like to win 2) I'd soon like to see the streak come to an end so we can focus on winning matches instead of staying "unbeaten". If we stay unbeaten for long we will be the team everyone wants to beat. Pred: 3-1
  18. Volz? You must be having a laught, he isn't even better than Delaney!!! Where's the ambition? Huntelaar at 7M? Try 17M to United as a straight replacement for RvN.
  19. the beauty of chat rooms and football in genaral is that everyone has a opinion, i respect yours but mine is he is overrated and not worth 12million. and will not score on aregular basis for any other club. criag bellamy is a prime example of a player that thrives on being a big fish in a small pond but cant play alongside world class players, if we sign him he has all my support but i feel mon will not spend 12million on the likes of darran bent, again not trying to pick a arguement, this is the beauty of football, if we do sign him i hope yr right. We just have to wait and see really, I too don't think MON is after him. I have studied his previous signings and even though he has more money now, unknown players he knows from the lower leagues seems to be his pref. I reckon Maloney and McGeady must be on his list, even though I am not sure if McGeady played a lot under MON. Sure these lads seem the deal, but one has to always be on alert when it comes to players from the SPL. Petrov was the Gerrard/Lampard of that league, and even though he ain't that far behind he clearly isn't on their level. One other thing is this; who would fit the bill better than eg. Bent? I know some people would like to stick with Angel, but don't you want to buy an expensive forward MON wants? It probably wouldn't be fair to judge Bellamy just yet. 1) He plays for a side which doesn't enjoy attacking football and he has better players around him now who scores more compared to the players at Blackburn (I think). And secondly he has been injured a couple of games I think, but I agree he is a way off right now. Ideal world: Klose Reality-check: Bent As of now: Angel Worst case: Chris Sutton
  20. Darren Bent has 5 goals in 8 games, so I wouldn't call it bad form at all. He clearly has what it takes to score goals, look who he has to work with!
  21. He played for Parma last season..... is he going back? As for Barton.... one year ago he almost got fired and was seen as a pretty lousy player. Last season he was rather good, netting a few goals as well as being in contention of a spot in the national side. Now he is back to a more regular level I think, which isn't world class at all.
  22. I know a lot of people on here hate Ronaldo for what he did in the WC, but what about Podolski? On three occasions I saw him grab the referee around his shoulder after either giving a yellow or red card. What's that about? I wonder what you would have said about him if it was GER who knocked out ENG in the quarters......... Nope, Podolski isn't coming here because he is too good and just settled at FC Bayern, he's also a clearing in the woods.
  23. That's great. People who think it's all about the top clubs and nothing more can go light themselves on fire. I'm not saying Spurs are a top club, but they might think so
  24. Surprisingly down to earth this guy. I was expecting something of "we should bag this easily" etc etc, he might be one of those Spurs-fans who has actually has looked at the table over the last 15 seasons.
