  1. Neville seem to have no money really The AV06 seem to just want to buy something, but they aren't exactly rapid. If I was to buy a big club and turn it over in a matter of years a couple of million quid to get it all wouldn't be a big problem. My guess is that we are stuck with Doug Ellis and Roy Aitken come August and Premier League-start.
  2. I wouldn't go to court with that statement.
  3. If some Norwegian fellows bought Villa I would die. Stordalen and Spetalen are both rich, but remember Røkke and Gjeldsten who bought Wimbledon? They are strictly in it for the money, and have no passion for football. Spetalen once said:"That Bergkamp is good, we should get him". This was when he was playing for Inter or something and Spetalen was the owner of Vålerenga. We would relegate withing years!
  4. Barry has been free of major injuries this season, which is a very good thing. Milner has played 600 fewer minutes than Barry, but easily out-classes him in every statistic-page. Says it all really?
  5. Not to mention that Barry is too slow to get to the by-line, something Milner does much more than Barry.
  6. I'm just kidding with the Allbäck-thing, ya'll know that I have a "thing" for him. If we were to play Barry cause he was good 4 years ago, we could easily have played Steve McManaman and Faustino Asprilla as well. (Almost)
  7. You are into something, but Barry would raise his hand if he felt he was wide away from what he wants, wouldn't he? I also think there are many English central midfielders that has a far better game than Barry, f.ex Lampard, Gerrard, Cole, Nolan, Barton, Jenas, Carrick and Reo-Coker are the ones that springs to mind, and I have probably left out quite a bit.
  8. Wasn't that like 4 years ago and we almost relegated? There's always a few players who over-perform when everyone else is doing shite, like Barry that season, and Marcus Allbäck, who saved us from relegation with some vital goals.
  9. Milner has the attacking attitude, just like Ronaldo. He wants to attack every time and never wants to go off the field. He gives everything for 90 minutes + overtime, and that is so much more satisfying than Barry's ... well..... mediocre stuff
  10. We can't have dips in form over a couple of seasons, that's the definition of being mediocre. Gareth Barry has NOTHING in his game saying he is a top-5 kind of player. Take of your Villa-goggles and see the truth. He is 32nd in Fantasy OPTA (amongst midfielders, and he has played 5th most counting minutes amonst these). He is in 25th when it comes to assists this season, only counting midfielders. He has missed 1 penalty and lost two vital points He has 1 goal this season, which is pretty awful for such a capped midfielder He is in 7th when it comes to letting in the most goals whilst on the pitch (amongst midfielders) He has 7 yellow cards He has one red card He has made 112 dribbles this season, Milner on the other hand has 179. Avg. ratings from some newspapers, the Norwegian newspapers use ratings from England: 6,61 (54th place) - VG 6,50 (below top 50) All I'm saying is that, even though he is in a sour team like Aston Villa, Gareth Barry is below the average opinion of him. Statistics PROVE that.
  11. Milner is amongst the best players in our team, Barry gives us nothing special. When Milner is out of the side, you see what happens. We don't create anything. Barry needs room to move his ultra-slow and a bit overweight body around. Milner has 8 assists or something this season, which is very good. He's been out for a while as well. Barry works hard, but he is much too slow in his all-round play. Milner is younger and surely has a better shot at making the England-team, something Barry never will do again. I liked Barry as a defender, but as a midfielder he is just mediocre. Prove me otherwise, he is one of the reasons we are bottom-5 instead of top-5.
  12. We can't get better at the moment, no way. He is far too negative all-over, not now perhaps, but generally he seems unhappy and it's affecting the squad. If we had some Big-Sam mentality, we would have had more points. I understand his frustration though!
  13. I didn't live to see it, since I was born in 1985, but it is highly recognized that our win in the Champions League was due to poor opposition early on, luck and underachieving from the others, rather than us being the best. A great win, deserved non the less, but we were hardly the best.... like Liverpool and Greece, one can win, but it isn't neccessarily deserved. But **** it, that was ages ago. Like I have said elsewhere, Rome and Great Britain once were emperors in the world. Things change
