  1. Congrats Christian, scorer of our first penalty of the season!!! And our first goal in the last 20 mins of a game if I'm not mistaken. Every chance his confidence will grow from that now & will be back to bullying the opposition for the rest of the season
  2. I've got a feeling that Marshall & Marshall will be out of the door quite soon. Don't think they can take too much credit for the Leicester result either cos up until half-time it stank of Paul Lambert. Also thought it was weak having to phone up the ex boss prior to the game. Thanks but no thanks
  3. Well I'm looking forward to the next few games for a change and there's every chance we'll see an instant change in fortunes. Screw long term for now, long term doesn't save us from relegation!
  4. Well that was much better when compared to last week but my view hasn't shifted one bit. Way too little too late. Anyone else notice the pattern of better performances against better opposition? It's almost like he revels in being the little underdog but can't motivate solid showings against those around us.
  5. Sounds like Slaven Bilic to me I think Bilic would be great for us, have done for a while. Always strikes me as a tad unconventional but yeah, would be hard pushed to do a worse job that our current manager!
  6. One thing that worries me is that Lambert himself isn't worried. He said as much only a few weeks back so by my reckoning he's either totally deluded or a liar. Don't like either of those options. Didn't he also say at the end of last season that we can't afford to have another season of struggling? Wonder who he blaims that on cos he sure as hell won't take any responsibility for it himself..... And while I'm ranting, I think he was totally spineless with the how he handled Roy Keane's departure. Full on arse kissing after he left us in the lurch. Everything is wrong about Paul Lambert being our Manager.
  7. Oh christ no Hahaha, I was thinking of something a bit more organised than that!
  8. I've been following this topic for a while now and I've seen numerous posters calling for some sort of action from the fans. I've had a little idea that I can envisage being quite effective so thought I'd share it. I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of fans want Lambert gone but don't want to not turn up for games or boo the team during the match, so what do you do? My idea is so simple it might just work! The 8 minutes 'demo' in the Holte a few weks back didn't really come off as planned & I didn't think it would. It just didn't make much sense logistically to me. I was thinking that if you're protesting about something (or someone in this case) you want to make it as visual as possible and easy for lots of people to join in. So how about everyone with a printer gets involved printing a simple message to Paul Lambert on A4 paper, which they hold aloft as the teams come out at the next home game (Leicester or Stoke cos Chelski might be a bit too soon to organise this) and sing "Villa, Villa, Villa". As everyone is singing one of our most simple rallying calls I doubt it would have a negative impact on the team. Actually might make for a really good atmosphere instead! My suggestion of what to write would be something along the lines of: It's never your fault, is it Paul So what do you think? If this gets a bit of attention I'll gladly spread the word on a few other forums as well.
  9. Greetings all, new poster here with my view on the current situation. I'll keep this post quite brief as I've read a lot of this thread & don't want to repeat things that have already been mentioned hundreds of times. First off, I'll say that I'm done with Paul Lambert & have been for some time. It's my view that he's a major factor in the negativity around Villa right now & I don't believe he can successfuly (motivate the players and) turn this mess around. Next, I haven't seen this mentioned so apologies if I've missed it. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sir-doug-ellis-aston-villa-8450127. The biggest thing I took from this was the absense of Paul Lamberts name. I've read between the lines that Doug is saying that it's now time to ged rid. VIews? Something else to consider that I've not seen before is Randy Lerners' take on all this. I think it's entirely possible that he's had enough himself (of Lambert) but that he doesn't trust himself to get the next appointment right. That might be way off of course, just thought I'd put it out there as it popped into my head! Lastly - and like a lot of other posters - I'm completely fed up with Lamberts' evasive press conferences/interviews. I totally understand that you don't want to give the game away but as we've been served up sub-standard football for so long you can be forgiven for looking towards the media for a bit of understanding. HIs complete unwillingness to take any responsibility for anything has gone on for too long now and he's also come full circle with his excuses too. Lambert out, the sooner the better.
