  1. If N'Zogbia was a better player than Downing

    A. He wouldnt be being touted around for 9-10m

    B. Man Utd and the other big boys would be sniffing around instead of paying double for our wingers surely?

Add 6-10 million to that for the English Player premium... that argument is flawed. 8)

  2. It’s a little delusional to think otherwise really, we all want Downing to stay but come on! Although saying that and getting back on topic, if we were to swap Downing for N’zogbia and Foster, that would improve the team overall imo. Be the smart thing to do considering he looks as though he’s had his head turned.

    100% agree.

I'd rather have Downing and Kusczkak(free), than N'Zogbia and Foster..

He should be signing a new deal..You cant go from loving the club one week to wanting out the next week without good reason. He was saying we have ambition and on the right road etc. We had McAllister at that time, saying we have people we want to bring in etc.. Whats happened?

"There is a plan to move forward which is already there.

"As much as it would be ideal if Gerard was here, it can be done from his home because we're down the line on a few things.

"I don't have to give anything away, but I'm talking about people that might want to come here, people we want to try and attract here, people that want to stay, people that might have to find a club.

"We know the positions where we are strong but we also know where we need to strengthen. It's ongoing and you've got to be like that, you've got to be prepared to go into the market and get these deals through."

Has this plan to move forward been scrapped?

Starting to wish that Houllier had stayed on now. Undoubtedly warming to Mcleish and willing to give him a chance, but I genuinly think that with Houllier in charge, we'd be pushing in the right direction next year. Or to put it in another way, we'd have made some top signings by now (or be in the throws of).

And Downing would be on a new contract :?

Agree, this is one of the big things, If they had stayed I reckoned we would already have made signings, or been very close, the ship would have been settled and we would be able to look forward to the transfer window, the football style, and the season.

  3. Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011

    Charles N'Zogbia (age 25) - 167 points (2785 minutes played, 9 goals, 7 assists, 33 bonus points)

    Stewart Downing (age 26) - 163 points (3385 minutes played, 7 goals, 9 assists, 18 bonus points)

    Ash Young (age 25) - 160 points (3050 minutes played, 7 goals, 11 assists, 27 bonus points)

N'zogbia seems to be a similar calibre of player to Young and Downing.

    Would be a good replacement.

    Agree. Proven PL performer.

French speaker too so would help the likes of Makoun. Since it seems Newcastle are trying to buy the whole french team it could be a rare commodoty.

  4. Bicks has just never rated him for some reason, and doesnt even seem to want to give him a chance, from what i've seen there is a very good player in there IMO. His one touch passing, vision and awareness are quite exceptional. If given the opportunity i'm confident he'll come good. (Unless we have a shite team around him)

  5. General,

Please do not ever say to us you and Randy are FANS because the actions you have shown are not of supporters but a business, can you please tell Paul to respond to my emails instead of getting Nicole Keye to be a mouthpiece, pretty sure Faulkners experience is Customer Service so should be able to answer a few fans questions. I will never post in this or read this topic again, you and your friends are ripping the soul of this great club, stick your scarves, your badges what other marketing ploy you have for us to fork money out. You have NO ambition and the sooner you admit that Randy is downsizing the better and admit that they have changed.

As a matter of fact is doesn't even make good busines senses, it seems to make no sense on any level at all! General we are highly dissappointed and deflated. We are ASTON VILLA for christs sake, there is no way in hell we could/can not find a manager with a better pedigree and pull than Alex McCleish. Although Martinez was also not a "big name" I think most fans were more willing to give him a chance as it seemed like a more ambitious move. The fact that McCleish was managing the Blues is not our main gripe here... it is merely rubbing salt into an already gaping wound! If the board is considering revenue, sponsorship, fan satisfaction, profile, pull, then this is without a doubt the most ridiculous appointment to potentially take place! There are without a doubt a plethora of managers out there who could do better, "fit" with the club, deliver results and appease the fans equally. If discontent, lower profile, dull football and our best players leaving is our current "ambition" then you've certainly found the right "fit". Having said that I hope to be proven wrong and have egg all over my face.UTV!

  6. So we turned down Flores, a manager who demonstrated success, cups, nice football at a club similar in stature to us (In Spain) after he said he would jump at the chance, confident he could bring over some La Liga stars, even going as far as saying he has studied the playing staff. COME OFF IT! Something is definitely wrong at the club and I don't quite know what it is. I sadly have to finally agree that it seems we are in decline. Seems no good sponsors want to sponsor us, and even nike take this piss with our kit. Sad.

  7. What if KMac or GMac is the only other option? Should we go with one of them instead?

    They aren't the only options.

If they are the only options I would rather take GMac, mostly based on the fact that he knew of the transfer targets and was right there with GH, knows what kind of football we want to play etc. Wouldnt need as much transition and the coaching team could stay on. Having said that...I really, really, cannot understand for the life of me why it has come down to Alex Mcleish for god sake!!!!WTF???!!!

  8. Well the Daily Mail have quotes where Pannu is saying he's received a mail from Villa saying they have permission to speak to him now he's a free agent. Pannu says we must pay 5.4 mill (For Mcleish)!. lol, it gets worse by the moment.

  10. Given his track record at EFC with virtually no resources I believe he could take us to a level beyond what MON was capable of. This would be, in the first instance, domestic silverware and a manager to actually believes in European competitions rather than just the idea of them

Im sorry mate, but what silverware has he won?

In my eyes, Moyes just keeps Everton ticking over every season. Nothing spectacular, just playing percentage football and grinding out results. Makes a few good signings but also makes a few duds.

Hes all just a bit 'meh' for me.

    Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute same fore me...just BLAAAHHHH! 8)

  11. Personally I think anyone who doesn't realise that I know it's obviously a typo is the real jackass. I was referring to the utter shite quality of the JOURNALISM!!!!DDUUUUHHHHH!!!

    (Do Sarcasm much?)

    Backtracking - check

    Corsica - check

    Gobsmacked - check
