  1. I'm pretty happy. He wouldn't have been my first choice but all things considered it's a good appointment. He's got a good pedigree, and if he can avoid the daft purchases that marred the end of his Liverpool time, he should do well.

Risso I think one of the good things like this is that he must have learnt a hell of alot throughout his career, as well as developed an extensive network of contacts!

  2. Well let's think about it, Our transfer windows will be much, much , MUCH more entertaining! Even the general commented once saying "I'm sure you know who used to run the footbaslling side of things, as well as transfers and his timing etc." Hail the foreign signings! Bundles of talent around Europe for less and less wages!

  3. GH won 6 cups with pool, then went to lyon and won the league back to back.

4 Cups and two exhibition games and then went to Lyon who had already won the league 4 times straight and won it again twice

How much would he had won at liverpool had he not inherited Gerrard and Owen ?

That said he seems a good judge of clubs who can win things - I just can't see it being houllier - I reckon the speculation is because he was the last one interviewed. -

Hope fully we will have a new name tommorrow

So if he came here and won something with us, GAB and Ash being instrumental, is the next line of excuse "would he have won anything had he not inherited them"? Baffling reasons some people are using for the hate, If you're not for the appointment, so be it, but the arguments have got to have more weight than that IMO.

  4. Really not my first, or even second choice, but he must have impressed the board, and it seems he has alot of contact and knows the European, especially french leage inside out. I'll support him though, I was hoping we would be getting a younger, more high profile manager, but think about it, typical Villa , not astounding, not terrible, right in the upper middle region. :winkold:

  5. I think that McLeish should be considered, he is better than most people mentioned for the job lately and is highly thought of by Ferguson.

Just saw that he had a row with his chairman over a new deal for himself, could he not have done this BEFORE the transfer window closed, and he signed Hleb, so he could have signed for us. (Even though it gives me the shivers just to think where he's been)

  6. Very good read, and I have to say I agree with absolutely everything Graham Taylor said!

I have totally the opposite view. Sounds like he is pitching himself for a DoF job and is embarassing. I really now hope KM gets the job and makes everyone eat their words.

I see it as a winner, , The players get to keep their beloved KMAC, KMAC gets to continue his beloved "coaching", either being Head Coach or Assistant manager. He gets to help the new Incumbent etc with the runnings of the club, and hopefully the new incumbent will be that name who can both attract the larger players, have sound financial dealings, expand the scouting network etc etc.
