Possibly out until Christmas, young lad for the youth has been called in for the rest of the Germany tour

You're joking? Where's that come from

I doubt that is true, in all the match reports, including Kendricks it was stated it wasnt too serious.

  2.

    Who's 'WRONG' JV?

I think he was replying to the posts at the top of the page saying that Wiemann and Okore are not in training yet, not realising that those posts are from a few weeks back :P

With regards to Weimann you are absolutely right mate, my bad. However the Okore ones were from today. Got a bit worried myself and had to go look it up. :P

  3. WRONG, Okore, Weimann etc all played. Only Benteke missing.     Helenius nets on debut as Villa kick off pre-season tour without wantaway Benteke

Nicklas Helenius scored on his debut for Aston Villa as they played out a 1-1 draw in their pre-season friendly with SV Rodinghausen.

Villa opened the scoring through Helenius' near post header from Matt Lowton's cross on the hour mark following a quiet start to the game in the first half.

Soren Siek then levelled for the home side as Paul Lambert gave new signings Aleksandar Tonev, Jores Okore, Leandro Bacuna, Antonio Luna, Jed Steer and Helenuis some match time.

The match was the first in a three-match tour of Germany which will also see Villa take on SC Paderborn and VFL Bochum.

Wantaway striker Christian Benteke did not travel with the team, with manager Paul Lambert granting him an extra week of leave following his transfer request.

The Belgian hitman, who netted 19 goals in the Premier League last season, demanded a move from the Midlands club last weekend, putting Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool on alert.

Aston Villa: John Carew says if Christian Benteke leaves it is his loss and he doesn't deserve to be at the club

John Carew has joined in the debate surrounding the transfer request of Aston Villa's Belgian sensation Christian Benteke.

The giant Norwegian striker has hit out at Benteke saying it will be 'his loss' if he leaves the club.

He also said that Aston Villa should let him leave if he wants to because he doesn't deserve to be at the club.

Carew became a cult hit at Villa and a big fan's favourite, he still holds the club close to his heart.

Back in January he stated that he would return to the club and play for them for free if he could.

Speaking to Dagbladet he said: " If I had time I would love to play for free for Villa. Aston Villa is my club, and I still have a very good relationship with the club and the fans.

"I try to communicate with them and keep in touch, but there’s probably a number of practical obstacles in the way of a free transfer back to Villa."

    MADE MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Maybe Bentake saw our new signings in training and thought F this, I'm outa here!

I've seen a couple of these posts, but the tit hasn't even been to training so it's an irrelevant statement.

  6. Really hope that Benteke finds a great club who can provide him the great team mates he deserves. There's no telling how good he can become if he gets the right backing.

Thanks forever for saving us last season, Tekkers and all the best for the future.

Note to JAMAICAN_VILLAN. He is NOT a prick.

I understand what you are saying, but to be honest with you, I genuinely felt like had we kept this whole team together we could have gone on to things, its just MONEY and yes I understand a footballers career is short.

  7.

The more I learn about this prick, the more I want him gone. "Villas choice is Chelsea, but he prefers a move to Tottenham, because he is not sure if he would be first choice at Chelsea, especially concerning in a world cup year". Prick you were and would have been first choice here, stop the bollox excuses, all we asked of you was one more year at least. You made your bed now lay in it!

    Where's that from?

Daily Mail mate, AND the Guardian etc.

  9. If we're still going to live by the "young and hungry" type players we hear so much about, then why not former Porto striker Walter? He currently plays in the Brasilerao for Goias.

    Young? Check. Hungry? Apparently so.

    He''s near death mate. STARVING!

  10. I wonder why the Dafabet symbol is to the left of the Dafabet text on the away shirt as opposed to being centred above it like on the home and goalkeeper shirts?

Also, if I were Brad, I'd be demanding to wear that third Goalie shirt for every game instead of the yellow one and that pink monstrosity.

Because of the block design, they obviously wouldnt have it going across the two different colours.

  11.

With that record on assists one would hope that Lambert has purchased him as a utility player rather than the quality AM we need.

We already have that quality attacking midfielder... Fabian Delph

  12. Villa's £4m bid for Dane star Okore accepted and Midlands side close in on Helenius

    By SIMON JONES

    PUBLISHED: 18:34 GMT, 12 June 2013 UPDATED: 21:31 GMT, 12 June 2013

Aston Villa have had a £4million bid accepted for FC Nordsjaelland defender Jores Okore.

The 20-year-old former Chelsea target has been hailed by former Villa defender Martin Laursen as a top talent and is due in Birmingham for a medical over the next 48 hours.

Okore will link up with Denmark international teammate Nicklas Helenius, the striker from Aalborg who is also due for talks at Villa this weekend.

Incoming: Aston Villa have had a £4million offer accepted for Jores Okore

Helenius has urged his side not to scupper his move by demanding an over-the-top fee.

The 22-year-old, who has been capped twice by Denmark, was the second-highest scorer in the Danish league last season with 16 goals from 33 league games.

Aalborg's new sports director Allan Gaarde has revealed the two clubs have yet to reach a compromise on the fee following an initial round of talks, although they are closing in.

Hitman Helenius: The Dane, right, shields the ball from Jordi Amat of Spain

'We had a long debate, but we've not quite agreed,' said Gaarde, speaking to Nordjskye.

'However, we are close, so we have given Nicklas permission to travel to Birmingham at the weekend and look at the situation.'

Addressing the talks between the two clubs, Helenius said: 'I hope AaB will show enough co-operation and not demand too much money for me.

'The market is not ready for big transfers at the moment.

'I have already secured the club a lot of money through my goals, and I am on my first professional contract, so I am not making an awful lot of money.'

Firepower: Helenius finished as the second-highest scorer in the Danish League last season

Given manager Paul Lambert's policy of letting young players make a name for themselves, Helenius is naturally eager to join the club.

'Aston Villa is a very exciting club known to use young players,' added Helenius.

'I therefore think the club will be taking me to England and letting me play. I do not want to come to England to sit on the bench.'

If a deal can be ironed out, Helenius would become Lambert's second acquisition this summer following the recent capture of Aleksander Tonev from Lech Poznan.

Lambert is also understood to be closing in on a move for another Denmark international in 20-year-old Ivorian-born centre-back Jores Okore who currently plays for Nordsjaelland.

  13. Tensions have spiralled in the past fortnight and have not been helped by the apparent collapse of moves for Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas and Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, two of Laudrup's favoured targets.

It is understood that in each case the player was willing to accept reduced wages compared to other offers in order to work with Laudrup.

But Swansea's reluctance to take a leap in spending – their existing transfer record is the £5.55million paid for Pablo Hernandez last summer, while Aspas would cost in the region of £8m and Aubameyang upwards of £10m – has meant the chance to clinch those signings has largely gone.

Thought this was interesting, Those players were willing to take paycuts to go to Swansea, meaning they ARENT out of our reach as people would make it seem. Quote taken from the Mail.
