  1. I know I'll get laughed out the room ( Probably rightfully so ) However, for some reason... The Scum getting a new " Super Stadium " kind of worried me further about getting " left behind ". I had a nightmare about the parallels between Man United and Man City. Us OBS being Man United in the example, becoming complacent, disregarding the " noisy neighbours" ( As we are way too big, established and far ahead ) so viewing them as no threat until it was too late .
  2. I think he's worth taking just for everything he can offer to a team as a whole, even if Toney goes as well. He can probably do things which one of the midfielders/forwards who wouldn't get a game anyway can do and more probably.
  3. I think we need to realise that not everyone else are Villa fans and stop having meltdowns because they don't see/value our players like we do. A number of them will feel the same way about their own players.
  4. Very random, but just seen on LinkedIn that Castore have bought Umbro? ( Or Umbro Elite Teams ) Not sure if that is different to Umbro itself . Edit: " Team Sports License " They must have some serious financial backing! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/thomas-beahon-5553362a_betterneverstops-activity-7176816995571531776-pkSf?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android
  5. They haven't said we AREN'T getting one either though... FFS
  6. Gibbs White.... I still say no though... Lol Unless it was a typo and he meant the rapper MGK.... Still no though.
  7. I don't think 25 mill would be outlandish. At one point he was being linked to Atleti and so on wasn't he? Scouts and Managers aren't as fickle as us with opinion. I.E when he was in brilliant form some of us were saying we'd never sell him then if he doesn't look brilliant for a while we claim he's not worth much. In my opinion certain clubs/managers would view what they think he is capable of at his best and go from there. As you note, fees for players currently as well.
  8. As a few others have mentioned, we don't even technically " own " the stadium, so without pretending to know anything about finance, I'm assuming we wouldn't even necessarily have to view it from a " return " perspective with regards to revenue against Aston Villa as such. That would be NSWE / V Sports / Aitoros asset to worry about and we would just lease it and take our percentage, turnover etc?
  9. " Aston Villa are open to creating a 92,000 seater soulless bowl outside of Aston... Despite NSWE expressing no desire for such a move just last year " - John Townley
  10. Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers etc have " great history " too? How much is it currently benefiting them?
  11. In fairness, someone posted the other day, a link to Zed FC things, it appears they have ALOT of significant developments taking place, so Aitoros could be more focused on that? Who knows, as it's actually V Sports they've joined and not just Aston Villa.
  12. In theory, with modern technology and construction methods they could probably create an even better version of VP. Four modern and upgraded " Holte Ends " for example. Aside from this, I've said in the past that we may even get a redevelopment proposal, even more impressive than the previous one, with the heavy hitters we now have on board. However it's the folks with more knowledge than me who make it seem like VP is very limited in what can actually be done which have me second guessing. Makes it seem like even building a new VP on the current site would basically be impossible.
  13. In fairness, I really could picture MON being the one who would do this
  14. Some of this legit reminds me of when some fans were actually upset about benches being changed to modern seating because " Players shouldn't be comfortable on the bench " ffs Evolve or die. Why does everyone make it seem like there is no compromise between out dated ground, " nostalgia " and " Bland Bowl " ?
  15. He gets the same stick from our lot when he doesn't somehow create his own goals when starved of service and suffocated.
  16. Yeah didn't get to watch this, but a few non Villa fans told me he was good!
  17. I've mentioned in the past, that a mistake people often make... is thinking that their " circle " or peers represent the whole fanbase. Most the time the people they talk to will be like minded and/or of the same generation and views, by default. I also reiterate that their is a younger generation of, and future Villa fan to think about, as well as the obvious not getting left behind and growth factors
  18. @Tom13 just had a look and you are right, those notions would seem to be non starters due to the required eligibility. Also found stories claiming he was being " monitored " by Southgate and England fans were excited by the prospect but I remember none of that. https://talksport.com/football/344198/explained-can-leon-bailey-play-england-why-bayer-leverkusen-starlet-cannot-and-never-will/ https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/leon-bailey-country-england-belgium-jamaica-bayer.jsp https://www.goal.com/en-qa/news/why-leon-bailey-wont-be-englands-surprise-star-at-the-world-cup/1gppbz4gkgoul1aecw1m9qy6hm Not sure where him " claiming " eligibility for England came from though as I see no quotes from him. However it seems even then, he wanted to " focus " more on Club Football.
  19. Yeah I did see that at one point Butler was trying to do a Caleb Chukwemeka type deal Some people still try to convince themselves that Caleb was brought in as " he was a good player in his own right " I'll never forget haha
  20. He was actually called up to Belgium ( Or asked to declare ) I think and there were alot of murmerings about Germany at one point as well. ( Not saying he would necessarily get into those sides ) But he chose Jamaica. This was when he was " hot " on the scene.
  21. Exactly... It was a hypothetical and/or throwaway comment as an example.
  22. There is alot of history there, from Butler and Leon in the past claiming JFF tried to sabotage him when he was younger and all sorts.
  23. If you see the state of our pitch sometimes, I'm usually more worried that players come away without injury over any result. Even the coach has complained about things like this. If you note he also mentioned how he was travelling/playing with broken toes, messed up feet for JFF etc This was at the beginning period of his time with us and all the injuries as well.
