  1. I doubt it now Gringo .... A bump up can't forget this one.
  2. well BW that is a £9m 3 year project ..... he stays until then we willl a 1st division club with a half finished training ground.
  3. or maybe John rothschilds are able to deal with numerous clients at once and maybe they have tried to match us up but no-one when seeing the books will pay the asking price.
  4. I bloody hope not the spectre of Dave Richards looms or Bryan Richardson .....
  5. I think you mean Neville JC not Richards but of course without us being shareholders having teh documentation and possibly an EGM to question any new owner I can not judge them. Only then would I be able to say whether any single indivudual or a consortuim is good for us and all I want is the chance to judge ?
  6. just one 4000 share trade did it Pete 606AC90R06 395 13:30 4000 410 420 boy teh share price is vulnerable I wonder how Petchey feels eh ??
  7. spot on Gringo but of course the problem is not over when Ellis dies, who would take control of his shares, what price would they sell for and would they care who they sold to. I reckon it would take at least 2/3 months for the club to be sold and completed when Ellis dies and his family have mourned, imagine he dies in May, this means we would barely have any time to complete transfers and the chances are we would have little money anyway. Bad bad situation.
  8. Ginge, if you are under no restrictions then there are at least 4 people on here I would trust your information with and maybe it could be used. Because basically if people have signed confidentiality clauses then there is something to hide and the story has to be told.
  9. if that really is the case Gringo we are **** !!!
  10. JG, Steve Kind the NED is acting as FD but the CEO point it not illegal not to have one and anyway Ellis would claim he is doing the job. The point about retirement age was made when Ellis turned 70 (or was it 75) anyway when we went to a PLC he put a rulle in bypassing the regulation which is something he could do. There is nothing we could do in court but we could call an EGM but this would require a lot of effort ( I think you need to get 10% of the shareholding to agree) andno-one seems to be willing to do this. I have admitted to myself that we can do nothing until he dies for reason stated previously but I just hope this is soon for the sake of the club's future.
  11. on a side note anyone read that the billionnaire former tory party chairman has got 42% of Watford through a rights issue and wiped out their debts. there are people out there and lets hope Rothschilds can find the right one.
  12. Malc, it is obvious that with Ellis still insitu, the club is frozen and any new deal say for sponsorship is going to be less whilst he is in charge. The worrying thing about this are the sackings because any company on a downturn and just sacking people is on a downward slope to oblivion. I just wonder how long it would take for the bank to close on us whilst Ellis is still there ??
  13. oh, there is a boycott just look at the attendances at least 3,000 are not turning up and I shudder to think if nothing changes just how many would turn for Charlton at home next season on Saturday 5PM KO .... the problem is we can NOT protest, Ellis's allies would claim it is haarrassment of a sick man, just look at what Newbon (rocket polisher) says anytime the fans say aanything, we just can not do it .... so yes we just sit there and hope for the grim reaper and then we have to hope whoever the relatives sell out to is good for the club. If he was truely a Villa fan he would haave organissed it for the best possible person/people to be in a position to take over but clearly in his dying days his true colours are there for anyone to see.
  14. no it wasn't Ginge, if we had gone to a PLC, then Ellis would have had over 60% of the shares and we would never have been aable to afford to redevelop the Holte and give money to the managers from it, I think without going public we could have been relelgated at least once. the PLC, opened up Villa to far more scrunity than they ever have haad, and it has been good, but you can't take the money and not except the responsbilities along wioth it.
  15. despite the bravado by the Mail a few weeks ago they have not done their job properly nor the local press because they could lose their 'privledges' and frankly the national's don't care. Just imagine this situation at Everton, West Ham, Spurs, Newcastle etc. it would be aall over the nationals and national phone in's. Ellis made us irrelevaant to them.
  16. to me the PLc is clearly in breach of all stock market governance rules and possbly legal rules, can anyone claify the legal responsbilities of a PLC board which is now just Stride and (dead)ly ellis. The problem is that to force this a major shareholder (and that can only be Petchey or those holding more than 0.5% of shares) should be the ones forcing the matter and reporting the board and calling for an EGM. However it seems Petchey does not want to do this and thus Ellis is allowed to continue. My major problem iss as Ginge says IF Hales is pissed off , as a non-exec could he not force the issue or is the plain gfact by teh time anything happens, Ellis may wwell be dead anyway ??
  17. Thanks for the information Ginge and this is exactly how I thought things are, if you can answer these questions it would be interesting to hear .... 1) Why are we making reduncacies, if it is wage costs the people including yourself are on a fraction of the players, is the club finacially in the shit ? 2) Have you heard of ANY other moves by anyone to take over ? 3) Are any of the staff able to make any decsion involving money ?
  18. most of that sounds about right and I think no one is going to be interested until Ellis dies and then we are in catch 22 until he lowers the asking price. One query Hiho, did you friend comment on whether Ellis is really 'in charge' or is everything frozen as a lot of us suspect ?
  19. If Ellis dies before then
  20. Just thought I would bring this thread back up, nothing happening of course !!!
  21. Pete, again spot on analysis and unless you are a Villa fan you won't pay the extra Ellis wants. Den- excellent story and that is very cruel would love to have been there.
  22. No accountancy bod here buit I reckon £50m is a fair pruice for a devalued company with limited appeal.
  23. actually in today's mail they have a picture of Ellis presenting a trophy at the variety club awards and boy does he look thin and very ill despite obvious touch up on the picture.
  24. No, but Ellis is one day closer to dying.
