  1. who is to say Denis but we don't know the inner workings but the Comer's and AVIL must have had someone working for them.
  2. How about Comers offer a package that values the club at what the city says its worth Clubs advisors suggest the Board accept The other major shareholders suggest the board should accept The Chairman says its not the value package he thinks the club is worth. The comers ask for further clarification of certain valuations to justify their stance Ellis tries to delay the provision of this information, but fails A meeting is arranged with all parties present and the Comers suggest a certain action. Ellis is then involved in 3 days of discussions and Rothchilds are asked again, to provide suitable buyers based on the new appraisal of the club forcing Ellis effectively out of the club. Now you might be able to guess why there is a moritorium on expenditure and why the Mail were able to post what they did, they know there will be no comeback from Ellis There's more to come too all i will say Malc is that as usual you have been proved right whilst other are made to look like fools. what you post seems correct it tiess in wwith what I posted about the Mail and the faact Stride has started to sspeak (when usually he is only allowed when maaster is not there) just all speaks volumes.
  3. when they were appointed I'd imagine they were given the limits of what they could do and what Ellis wanted and expected .....
  4. PB, this shopuld be good enough Football fans may be interested to learn that if (as expected) Arsenal football club chooses to list on the stock exchange, Rothschild is likely to be its advisor. The bank has represented the club on every capital markets deal it has done for the past four years. UK M&A January to December 2005 - by value US$bn No 1. Citigroup 174.3 60 2. Rothschild 157.0 116 3. Deutsche Bank 146.6 43 4. Morgan Stanley 104.4 65 5. ABN AMRO 102.8 28 6. JP Morgan 97.7 76 7. Goldman Sachs 93.9 55 they dealt with the Glaizer takeover at Maan Ure lazer should be thanking NM Rothschild who replaced JP Morgan as his advisers at the beginning of the year. Instead of using the United balance sheet to leverage the borrowings required for a £790m purchase, Rothschild constructed an arrangement that used the Glazer family's existing 29 per cent United stake as collateral. Rothschild had to convince the banks financing the deal - including JP Morgan - to keep their backing in place, in spite of not being able to provide any guarantee that the tycoon would be able to lift his stake to 75 per cent. so in summary they are one of the top companies in mergers and aquisitions and as the Man Ure deal proved they can get any difficult deal through
  5. well would he being the tight git he is really spend money on bankers if he wasn't serious. Basically the Comer's probably value Villa at £50m, ellis wants 30% more and they were hpoing to negotiate it down. Ellis now probably realises he can't wait, this is thee clearest signal possible,
  6. bascially Ali, they have said that they have had no bid from AVIL but they have appointed advisors in order to progress the club and normally Rothschilds deal with mergers and aquistions. Alos I did hear 4 months ago that we had appointed outside people, one reason I was confident we were up for sale.
  7. I understand your conccerns PP but it is clear isn't it that this statement has been issued in order to force the Comer's and start an aucction otherwise whyt would he keep the elaborate disguise. BTW noticed Stride has come out the past two weeks and we keep hearing how Ellis is still at VP, anyone want a bet he hardly turns up now and is now is not able to be in control ?
  8. does anyone else wonder if the op two weeks ago told Ellis he had limited time left. this is as clear a sign that the club is for sale as you would want.
  9. well it sort of answers the front page of the mail doesn't it and what a weird time to release it ?? and it confirms exactly what I have been saying which is that the club has been up for sale for a long while now and this is a move to pressurise the Comers into a bid at the Douggie value or to start a competitive bidding to get as much as Ellis can. Good news it has to be said
  10. very interesting indeed based on the articles yesterday, it can only be presumed that the Mail have the inside information on something and are trying to force the club, I wonder if they have tried to interview Ellis ??? I also wonder if they know the reason why the so called bid has stalled ??
  11. Gerry, if that is true then I do beleive as I stated 10 pages back that he is using teh Comer's as a stalking horse in order to flush out people he sees as better but if they believe he has a short time left why don't they wait until he dies ? Mike, I do not think the value of the club is a real sticking point because it is all down to the Ellis factor, it is his premuium and waht he wants taht determines this,
  12. Gerry, heard that kind of sceanrio before and the whole thing hinges on whether Ellis has been told if he has months or years left, if he has nmonths he has to sell, if he has years he won't. Think to yourself possible reasons why he won't spend money on pitch and loan and try and woprk out what you believe. I am just confused !!!
  13. Gizmo it is called not wanting to put hard money into something when the chairman has no ambition to use the money properly, I am not int he habit of wasting my money and it makes me nor others any less of a fan.
  14. Denis, never a truer word spoken, why do peopel think we can't apparently afford even Bakke, why are the club looking at cheap tickets ?
  15. I just have a feeling we will find out by the close of the transfer deadline whether this is dead or not and until I hear ellis say it is over then I have hope.
  16. exactly rich it seems that the drivers behind this are not the main people as such and thus they are trying persuade reluctant people to take part. Now the whole nub of the question is this, if Ellis does not want to sell he can just simply walk away and say the bid is over, he has not done this, now people may claim transfer window and AGM, but I don't see it. Simply ellis has put the club up for sale and wants an auction so keeps the Comer's/Neville's involved whilst leaking that maybe there is an opportunity for someone else to come in and trump them. again another Ellis tactic simply for himself and not for the best interests of the club or ebven the shareholders because the longer this goes, the worse we get and the more chances he could die in the chair.
  17. and the point is what exactly ????
  18. what responsbility does he have now, a PLC without a FD or CEO is in breach of all it's commitments to codes of compliance and clearly th4ese will noy be replaced .... Nevermind a PLC for any company for the ccounts to be signed off by an non-exec director is farcical and if he was interested in maximising shareholder value, why have we kept hold of the two pieces of so called valuable land or not even borrowed off the back of them ?
  19. the evidence is simple, why is Peter ellis not involved now ? where are his other two sons ? why do you think Peter and Dad fell out ? (clue, Peter wanted to sell to the Mirror group) Seen any of his family at VP lately ?
  20. Ok Bob, if Ellis wants the money it is what I call the Ellis premuium and if I was any buisnessman I would not pay it IF I knew Villa will not be relegated AND i knew Ellis had a short life span. I would wait and when he dies the family wouldn't get it would they ?? And I agree with you Bob his pride and ego plays a large part in this so he is NOT acting in the best interests of Villa is he ? It is as usual with Ellis all self ....
  21. do you. :? i think he's under immense pressure from others to sell. If it was down to him, he'd stay until he's carried out in box, as he's said before ........ I agree Jon with you I think his faamily are driving this because frankly I don't think they want teh hassle of selling them when he dies ... Bob the difference to Ellis is worth only about £3m, if he just holding out for that after aall the money he has took out of the club then it confirms he doesn't give a shit about the club.
  22. but it's true Lee, if people really cared that we are run by a sick old man, that Leicester can buy Fryatt, or Pompey their players or the fact we have such a small sqaud then they would do something. some protest some discard ST's 3,000 have **** off but the majority care but can't be bothered, there is no other explanation.
  23. not really LG, most like the easy life.
  24. can't disagree with a word of that Pete, but is it much simplier, Ellis does not really want to sell but knos for his family and for maxuium value he has to and soon. Isn't all this just a game to force an higher bid from the Comers or ANO ?
