  1. it just asked your view on aan idea Hev ... no money .
  2. yes I did and i would encourage everyone to return the questionnairre contaained with in.
  3. some peopel hodl onto the belief he does !!!
  4. just that 'plans are in place'
  5. I guess it depends if the shares are split up amongst the family or left intact as one complete unit to be sold.
  6. so we have Pompey sold, Liverpool on the look out for an investor, Newcastle wwill be sold .... all these and yet we can't seem to find one after appoint Rothschilds, I agree Jez, IF ellis really wanted to sell we would find the bidders.
  7. as things stay we will escape just as this is the lowest quality premiership in many a year.
  8. well of course what should be happening is that every single penny of the supposed £7m should be given to the manager (forget who it is) to strengthen the team. That is the core activity of the company. andy I just find it very interesting to see how BCS will fund this and consdiering it appears Villa have a major interest in BCS as well could it be they are using this to sell the club ??? or protect themselves from the club being sold ???
  9. I know what u mean Rich and IF the money comes through on the surface the deal looks good, but thats the problem it looks far too good. We have sold the land to a company that has Villa's involvement in it, a company with net assets of only £500k and no reserves who are paying £7m CASH ???? Is it stupid, naive and foolish to suggest that this deal may not be pucker ??? Ellis has demanded to know how people will fund the purchase of the club I am very curious as to who is funding this land sale ??? It could be argued that this is a move to force a sale because people interested in the land would want the money for themselves ?
  10. not sure what u mean Rich, I don't think Ellis would want to sell the land at this time, surely it will bring the asking price down as the asset value is weakened ???
  11. except Andy, the assets will eventuaally run out and nothing will be left to sell .... All the money from the sale will be used to service an overdraft of at least £12m and not used to invest into the fabric of the club. this is asset stripping because the short term benefit will not improve the club in one bit except to make it more attraactive to sellers, but even this is wrong as few assets will be there. It is a strange move and one I believe Ellis has been told to do .....
  12. the thing is to move to say a new 40,000 staduim would cost around £120 - £150m and there is no way that selling VP and the rest would fund this. Of course in an out of town one you can add casino's etc. Ellis is using asset stripping because he knows a lot of Villa fans will agree with this and back him and thus lessens the pressure on him. It is false .... there are not enough assets within Villa to strip to make a profit and only two people have enough control to do this, Ellis and Petchey. all a cover for ellis to hide behind.
  13. He can not do this. How do you define asset stripping ? Is it taking £4m out when the club floats ? It's not possible and just a sheild.
  14. Silent bob, define Ellis's legacy for me ?
  15. but Faust, they have hardly got sunderland cheap, £30m I think for a club like Sunderland is a lot ... On current market prices they are 3/4 as large
  16. so if doug won't hand them over and you are serious you would do something else wouldn't you. Just agree to buy Petchey's shares and move forward from there but as I have stated many times, none of us know his true game plan and would he sell say at £5 a share or is after something else ?
  17. but if Ranson was serious he would have took it a stage further instead of meekly backing away.
  18. totally agree John, however Ellis has never been tested has he with a proper bid ?
  19. whatever it shows once you have a willing seller you can do deals. ellis wants to sell only at his price and won't budge and no-one wants to take him on over an hostile takeover, weven though they would probably get Petchey on side. Not good !!!
  20. I would also say I saw an article about Sunderland's takeover happening with Quinn and including the debts it will be worth about £80m. Now if they can do that and Villa would be the same why can't someone get together a serious consortuim, of course the difference is a willing seller. And I agree 100% with Malc.
  21. simple Den. As long as 1) Neville has not withdrawn or 2) ellis forces him to show his cards then this can carry on as long as ellis wants it to.
  22. we are still in the bid situation, which means that this thread is valid until either Ellis forces Neville to make a bid (he won't, it suits him) or Neville withdraws, but won't as it helps Ellis !!!
  23. As Gringo and Den states Petchey is the worse choice. When Elton John left Watford Petchey brought his shares- cheap of course, sold the ground and charged Watford a large rent (is that not right ??) and iot has took a long time for them to recover from this and until Ashdown (ex Tory billionnaire treasurer) put money in they were in large debt. Petchey wants his profit from Villa it depends what gives him a greater one 1) Get Ellis to sell at around £50-£60M or 2) Allow the club to sink lower and lower, thus reducing teh price, wait for Ellis to die, pick of his shares and then **** us up the arse by selling everything ..... Scary aint't it ?
  24. thats the point OBE .... If the price continues to drop his profit gets lower and he may lower his asking price - wishful thinking However as the price drops don't the shares become more attractive for an asset stripper as he will py less, he is the kingmaker. My conspiracy theory is this. Petchey around last winter made a deal with Ellis not to pressurise him into forcing an eGM if he 1) got Rothschilds in to find a bidder at a mutally acceptable price 2) Stopped spending money and draw back on all expenditures so as to protect the asset soneone has told Ellis to sack staff, sell before we can buy, sell catering side, I doubt Ellis is in any position to do this himself nor would he.
