He is finished. If he can't beat Truss he has no hope. I expect a few years on the back benches and then time to leave politics to spend more time with his money.

It was quite a short time at the top really which shows he didn't really had  large support base in the party, was just flavour of a month when he was giving everyone money for staying at home.

This. He, along with many other Tories now have the title of former MP/chancellor/whatever and when the next election comes around will probably be quite happy to sack it in and start making some real money in the corporate world without doing any real work.

The prices of m’fish, chips and gravy have rocketed I’ve noticed.  My Friday treat is now a tenner, up from £7.45.

Best way to reduce the cost? Drop the gravy. You know its for the best :)

I bought their first album on release but it wasn’t for me outside of a handful of songs. Bit too shoegazery for me.

Fair enough. I quite liked it to be honest but it is very different to Lostprophets!

Re: Lostprophets. It’s my personal thing to not listen to them, if someone else’s wants to listen to them then that’s fine. For me it’s that he was the singer and songwriter so it’s all his words and voice.

Weirdly, if he was in the background or the bassist or someone less synonymous with the bands image I’m not sure it would bother me as much.

If you did fancy supporting the other former members of Lostprophets you could always listen to No Devotion which was all of them bar the singer. Think a few have left now (not clear) and it is a little different in style... However new album is out next month on 16 September.

Saw a tweet saying the same people working the bull in the opening ceremony must have been working Ozzy then! :D

He does not look good does he?! I know he is still recovering, but how is he going to manage a full tour?

  6. Describing Black Sabbath as Ozzy Osborne’s band.

He was there for the first 8 albums and the last one. They have done more albums without him. It’s Iommi’s & Geezer’s band if anyones and they were the ones who created the guitar sound; Ozzy simply bought a microphone. He didn’t even write the lyrics.

    F*** off.

  7. Team scored 34 Points

    Benched scored 38 points

Only position I picked the best choice in was GK... thought I would be smart to not have Haaland in and so could have better options elsewhere. Now will have to take a points deduction and take out Darwin or Jesus to fit him him (Mitrovic is staying in at 6.5m!). I hate this game.

Having set up the squad totally forgot to set up the team for this week

Currently have 17 points on my bench with Zinchenko and Mitrovic and 5 points in my actual team…

Along with Ward-Prowse this is now up to 29 points. Only Sanchez (GK) left to play.

My actual team? Currently on 25 points.:bang:

That has to be malpractice by his legal team, surely. It was an enjoyable two minutes, but I wonder if it's grounds for a mistrial

Not 100% sure but in the clip the prosecution highlighted that they told his lawyers and asked if it was privileged. Doesn’t appear to be respond at all by the lawyers but they may have been waiting for instructions from him.

Supreme Court rejects the appeal. The Christian Legal Centre will be looking for their next victim.

I was just explaining the case to the wife and she asked who was funding it. I am unsurprised by this to be honest.

These cases are always a nightmare and all this is doing is making everyone suffer more.

@cyrusrbeat me to it.  Excellent advice.

You will find it very hard to get a definitive answer regarding legal advice.  Its means tested but also takes into account what you are trying to achieve, whether there is a reasonable chance of success and if the cost is worth it.

Try to avoid solicitors if you can.  You might hink that this is something that can be resolved cheaply. Its not.

Legal fees for Court costs are a lot. If it does go to Court you are likely to look at £500 - £1000 just to attend direction hearings. If it does go to a contested final hearing you could easily looking £1000 - £2000 per day. Always negotiable but run the risk of using someone less experienced and/or not as good but it is not always "you get what you pay for either".

So obviously I can't go into detail, but my ex is, after 2 years separated (now divorced) that she can stop me seeing our children on a whim, either by taking them on holiday on the agreed days Im supposed to have them, saying that she's busy and with them

Where's best to go with this, I've never ever wanted to go down this route but it's become ridiculous, any advice is greatly appreciated, the legal aid question I can't get a definitive answer online, and the solicitor I have contacted straight out said it was £199 just to have a consultation

    https://www.gov.uk/check-legal-aid

Short answer is though for private law unless there are allegations of domestic abuse/child abuse then you will not be eligible. If there is (don't go into detail now) then you might be subject to finances.

I cannot recall specifically the threshold but more or less unless you are on benefits and/or on pretty much minimum wage you are unlikely to eligible either.

If you are having difficulties then the ultimate action would be to seek a Child Arrangements Order (spend time with) but in order to make any of those applications then you will need to attempt mediation first (think should be accessible through the same link).

£199 is a lot to be honest; it depends what they are going to do with that. Honestly call around a few firms and get quotes. This is by far the best place to go https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/. I would suggest someone who is either Family Law Accredited or on the Children Panel. I suspect for an initial appointment you will be looking between £50 + VAT to £200 + VAT. Depends on who you go see.

Just as a gut reaction, subject to speaking with your ex, it sounds like it may be more a communication issue in which case Mediation might resolve it https://www.familymediationcouncil.org.uk/find-local-mediator/

    Hope that helps :)

We might not riot with £4,000 energy bills, but increase the price of our McFlurry and we’ll be in the streets burning down shops!

Latest whispers are that Dorries gets parachuted into the House of Lords, and Johnson takes her seat (majority, 24,000) to save the ignominy of being booted out in Uxbridge.

I can think of at least three logistical problems that stop it working, but if (as is suggested) he's trying to work out a way back, I guess he'll need a new seat sooner or later.

I don’t think he will. He’s been PM now and can get better paid jobs elsewhere. I think literally the only thing that would draw him back would be sheer pride, which is possible I agree. However, he can act all high and mighty from the sides and make a killing.

If he isn’t booted out as an MP beforehand I suspect he won’t stand at the next general election.

There's no forced in that, absolutely nothing was forced on anyone. Johnson didn't have to remove the whip from Elwood, he wanted to in an act of revenge for Elwood's comments about Johnson recently

Ah that makes sense - vengeance by Johnson makes a lot of sense.

It would be nice to have a government that actually runs the country instead of playing oneupmanship with its own party.
