  1. Aim for about £100 and you'll get a good pair of sunglasses. Or alternatively try McDonalds cos they often gie them away with Happy Meals in the summer.
  2. I used believe that they were for tossers too. Then I moved on to the idea of wearing them when it was hot, rather than just when it was sunny. Then I moved to Europe and realised that when the sun shines, the shades go on. Even if it's freezing. You only get one set of eyes, and you have to look after them. You wouldn't not wear a condom because it looked silly. PS Buy Ray Bans, because they're good.
  3. That's fighting talk where I come from... I think the fact that we've signed Patrik Berger 5 months after he knew about it proves conclusively that he's not full of shit, like.
  4. Good idea, Rob. We'll save it for special occasions. Small Heath, Everton It's been fun while it lasted.
  5. Think I'm with you, to be honest Rich. Once you've hammered them with the stereotypes there's not a lot left. The Midldlesboro article was fully researched and didnt provoke a single response because it wasnt controversial- it was all fact. Maybe I'll have another poll later in the summer and gauge public opinion, but at the moment I'm thinking about hanging up the old poison pen.
  6. So, last WWMB of the season, eh?! Given the success we enjoyed against Everton, do I simply have a cut n paste session with a few bits of end of season vitriol and then we can compare the results? OR Do I try to cadge together yet more hackneyed Scouserisms? Personally I reckon the first. Take the prime cuts from the Everton article, add some redscouse sauce and then see how it compares. Any takers?
  7. Blimey Juju! Most stuff shouldnt be washed higher than 40C, and normally clothes will come out clean at 30C. You're either very dirty and smelly or you're boiling your clothes!
  8. Not Henry class. Clearly not. But he's scored a lot of goals in a poor team and been selected for England so he must have something about him. Or would you say he's rubbish?
  9. Agree that we need a much better midfield. Then I'll be able to tell you if I agree with the brilliant bit. The key is that he doesnt miss a lot of chances. He just doesn't get many. Maybe the poll should really be Nobby Solano- Genius or Flatters to Deceive...
  10. I'll have El-hadji Diouf and a packet of cheese and onion, please. He's been here long enough to adapt, now, and is still only about 24. Skillful, quick, strong and nasty. Sounds good to me.
  11. ^^^ Not that you've spent much time thinking about it though, eh Chris?
  12. ^^^ Yeah, that's what I thought
  13. Would that be for being stupid as the choice is only between 1 and 5? And what's Lizarazu's shirt number all about? Numpty.
  14. I like 3, cos it's the amount of times I've met Pelé more than Richard has
  15. I'd go for Koller from Dortmund. A big monster who can shoot with both feet and at 6' 7" is absolutely lethal in the air. Failing that, Roque Santa Cruz from Bayern Munich, please.
  16. March 16th 1979, ladies and gentlemen. Not old enough to appreciate the glory days, not young enough to ignore the pain now...
  17. Well, plenty of votes have been cast, and at the moment it's well in favour of nailing the gyppoes! The poll was only set for one day, so by the time I get home tonight I'll know whether to sharpen my fishing hooks and get into the garden to dig up some worms!
  18. Happy Monday fellow Villans! Just a quick poll on the matter of "Why we must beat..." for this week. After the incredible success against Everton, the resounding failure against Middlesbrough (or should that be the other way around???) and the comedy value of Portsmouth, how do we go on for the Sty Dwellers? There's plenty of ammo for the tramps, but do we really want to get them riled and on here? Would I be "doing a Mellberg" by writing a piece- imagine if Spudface showed it to his players and used it as inspiration for beating us???! So, I'm allowing you guys the chance to choose- do we offer up a bit of mackerel bait, or do we let this particular shoal swim by? Only you can decide.... NV
  19. ^^^ D'oh! Fair play, you got me. Crafty git. I still stand by what I said though, that in keeping with the level of thinking on this board, dismissing the shirt as unimportant seems an oversight. But then I would, eh?
  20. I know I've got a very one-eyed opinion on this subject, but I REALLY BELIEVE that it IS important, and that it IS a fashion item. The shirt isn't just about us and our colours, it's about people in Japan who watch the Premiership on telly and want to buy a shirt because they like it, rather than because of the team. This is why I always make so much noise when the new kit's come out or a new deal is announced. When Nike presented to Man Utd, Peter Kenyon (at the time) said "It doesnt matter about the design, we always sell 500,000 (yes, that does say 500,000) shirts". Nike advertised it and sold it through their retail network and Utd sold 2m (yes, that does say 2m) shirts in a year. That sort of money pays for a Wayne Rooney every summer. Who was interested in Cameroon until they did the whole sleeveless thing? (Where's Ryu when I need back up?) What are you opinions on the England shirt (given that it's an optional buy for most rather than an emotional one like the Villa shirt)? The design counts, and it makes money. The same goes for the brand of the supplier, and the sponsor. Wolfsburg sold 2000 shirts in the UK, just because they had a VW logo on the chest, the St Pauli shirt which was sponsored by Jack Daniel's is worth a mint on the internet, and so on. I know that for most of us as normal fans, as long as it's claret body and blue sleeves it's ok, but in a BUSINESS and PROMOTION sense (which is what we hammer Ellis for all the time), the kit design can be critical in term of raising funds.
  21. Do you wanna take this outside Cresswell?
  22. I love the club, and probably care more than most about the design of the shirt. As there was no "they're all shite" option, I didnt vote. Shame on me?
