  1. Fantastic analogy ! But very accurate!! And remember we have paid 12m for all these changes in management! We could have signed another SI for that! Why has it cost us so much for managers ? sureley it would be better buisness to hire a manager on a 1 year contract with the option to renew it for a longer period if he was any good.
  2. Could do,that's why I dont want to go on it

    Jokes

I thought it might be good to start a jokes thread to cheer us up,considering what may lay ahead for AVFC fans.So here we go: A man comes home from work and sees his son Billy playing in the front yard. Man: Hello Billy, how did your day go. Billy: Hi dad, I had a great day but mum was almost taken by god Man: Almost taken by god ?! what happened, is she allright ? Billy: Yes, she's ok. I was in the hall and I heard mum calling out "Oh god i"m comming I"m comming" and if it was'nt for the milkman holding her down, she would have gone.
  5. I bought the boxed version of Football Manager 2012 and it needs steam to activate it.I dont like steam, and I dont mind playing against the PC.I will go on steam to activate if I have to but does anyone know of any workaround or crack or whatever for steam games so that you can activate without going online. :?:
  6. Spurs dont have a top four wage bill. Are you sure ? Even Man C want to get Adebeyor off their wage bill and players like G.Bale cant be cheap
  7. I expect that's MON's fault as well. Every other bad thing in the world is, it seems from this thread... :winkold: Hardly, all I've read is that people stating he spent a shitload of money His net spend was 80 mill in 4 years wasn't it? a week after he got the boot we then sold Milner for 27 mill ( 20 mill + Ireland ). The wages at the time of our three sixth place finishes were the 8th, 6th and 6th highest in the league. So a net spend of 80 mill ( or 53mill if you take the Milner money into account ) to take a club that had just finished 16th to one that then finished top six three times on the spin for the first time since the 1930s and competed for 4th until the final handful of games of the season twice and achieved its highest 38 game prem points total improving our points total season on season for 4 years seems pretty reasonable to me. The fact that we found that finishing sixth with the sixth highest wage bill unsustainable is down to Randy for not getting revenue up to a level that could sustain it. The execs have to make up their mind what they want to do.You don't get a high league position with a low wage bill. Its as simple as that
  8. Yes, but the club doesnt bring in enough revenue to be able to spend as much as we were. Hence £80million losses over 2 years. It's really quite simple. Well we must be doing something wrong then.I know we are not a Man U or a Chelsea but we are not a Stoke or a Fulham either ? Yeah, we gave too many mediocre players too high wages. Simple as that. As soon the economic situation is fixed I hope and think we can rise again in a steadier and slower way that's financial safer. Though, I doubt we'll do that with AML. So we have a lot of nediocre players to go with our mediocre manager ? All I hope is that we dont end up in a mediocre division :?:
  10. Of course it's better in terms of footballing reasons. No one is debating that. But when the club makes a loss of £59million and the year before that, a loss of £30million(ish)... it's hardly worth it, is it? I'm no accountant, but it's pretty obvious that our wage bill was crippling the club (Habib Beye, 40k a week), is that what you think a better situation is? A club that cant sustain itself financially and would end up probably doing a Leeds? If that's your definition of better then, you're crazy Put it another way then, are we going to qualify for europe with bosman signings ? All the TOP teams and all the teams that qualify are full of expensive players on big wages.so if you want to finish high up the table you have to spend, you can't do it any other way.
  11. Obviously it wasn't worth it as we're now paying for it. Both Randy and MON can take blame for that. Haven't we gone through all this countless times before? :? Well that does not make sence to me. All the teams that qualify for europe spend a shitload of money,I cant think of one team that got to europe for **** all,so if you want to finish high enough for europe you HAVE TO spend buckets of $$$
  12. So you dont think finishing 6th and qualifying for europe is worth the money spent ? Surley that is better than what we are doing now ?
  13. Didn't we finish 6th and qualify for the Europa league under MON ?!
  14. All I can say is,look at where we are now, compare that to where we used to be,and ask yourself, who put us there.
  15. I think Bannan and maybe Delph could fill the midfield role ok if they were given a few starts, all Bannan needs is a bit more experiance,Delph is one for the futore.
  16. The big question is this, Do you think McDipstick is taking us in the right direction ?
  17. Yes. He also scored one against Ghana - luckier. That fist pump after scoring against Serbia is absolutely pathetic... And the rebound off the Ghana keeper, nowhere near as composed and stylish as Wiemann's... Complete embarassment. Shocking signing. What is AMc thinking? :winkold: As long as they end up in the net who cares how composed he is
  18. The only reason we were in trouble is because GH was in hospital and G McA had to take over as caretaker manager. As far as I am concerned we are safe from relegation this season, mainly because the teams below us are in real trouble. I am just saying that considering McDipstick has had 8 months, and he has had a chance to buy his players ( Given,Nzogbia,Keen ) and we are definately playing his style of football ...........we should be higher up the table, the reason we are not must be because he does'ent know what he is trying to do ?
  19. Just gotta ask...where were you last season? Same as I was the season before and the season before that etc etc. I remember under MON we qualified for the Europa league but were beaten both times by that Austrian team.I remember getting beat by Man U in the League Cup,I even remember beating Norwich in the league cup, but what I dont remember is bieng so low down on the league table
  20. What you’re really saying is that the good thigns McLiesh has done in his career, i.e. somehow manage to win SHA a trophy, cannot be counted in an analysis of him. Your argument is as ridiculous as saying you cannot count SHA’s relegation against him. Ok,lets look at some FACTS here and keep opions aside. To be fair to the ginger headed one we will consider the last 5 seasons and the present one. 1-I dont remember finishing in the bottom half in the last 5 seasons 2-I dont remember losing so many games at home in the last 5 seasons 3-I dont remember scoring so few goals in the last 5 seasons 4-I dont remember getting so few points in the last 5 seasons 5-I dont remember playing such crap football in the last 5 seasons 6-i dont remember so many players playing out of position so much 7-The list goes on and on. So, now compare the last 5 seasons to this one and ask yourself, 1- Do you like the direction we are going in ? 2- Have all those FACTS about the last 5 seasons changed this season ? 3- Who'se fault is it ? :?:
  21. What in his past record marks him out as a manager who - given time- will oversee a massive upturn in fortunes? Ferguson had an incredible record at Aberdeen and Moyes at decent one at Preston. Also, using Ferguson as an example of giving a struggling manager time is almost always flawed, as it ignores the fact that Fergie took United to 2nd place in his second season in 88. I have a sneaking suspicion that any Villa manager who oversaw that in his second year might be given a bit more time too. Big Eck's stint at Rangers is without question the most successful period of his CV -and even there it's pretty obvious to spot a major decline under him. From 100 goals in a season to finishing 3rd in a two horse race. Impressive. His stint as Scotland manager can be considered a success - of sorts, I suppose. Despite failure to qualify for a major tournament. Some impressive victories and draws against more fancied nations. But 10 men behind the ball, hacking the ball away under pressure and nicking it with a James McFadden wonder strike against the run of play is a perfectly acceptable approach to adopt for a minnow. For a club like Villa, we expect a wee bit more. Not trophies (or even competing for them) anymore, sadly. Sign o' the times. But we do expect to at least have a go and take the game to the opposition, particularly at home. After the initial shock and disappointment of an appointment so unambitious, I think most were willing to give him a chance. Yet going into mid March this year we had won a grand total of three games at VP. Now four. That, primarily, is why he takes the stick he does. Not his past associations. His past associations merely highlight his limitations and demonstrate why he is unlikely to be a success here. With you all the way there It cant be good over there ?! as it is I get stick because we could not beat Wigan and Blackburn ........and I live in Australia
  22. The trophy he won was the League Cup,and the only reason he won that was because Arsenal thought that all they had to do was call in at Wembly on the way home from the Newcastle match to pick it up. I watched the final and no way did Arsenal deserve to lose.
  23. I will give it a go then. It is for sale at K Mart for $5
  24. These particular substitutes did make a difference THIS TIME ......BUT sureley you can not believe that making substitutions in the 82nd and the 92nd minute would normally change a game ? I agree with Barry,s Boots that ( and this is my point really ) there is not a manager in the world ( at least not one that knows what he is doing ) that will make substitutions in the 82nd and 92nd minute and hope to change a game ?! Surely you can see where Barry's Boots and I am comming from ?
  25. Is it scarey then ? I like to watch scarey movies at night.
