  1. hutton has been improving recently and compared to the pillock on the other flank he has been very consistent
  2. MON did win the hearts of all the fans of think of him as a messiah
  3. i like mick mccarthy but wasnt he the man that took sunderland to a record low of points at the time, he has experience but won nothing
  4. 1. some of the football we have played has been to a high standard short passing with the ball on the ground, MON wasnt a fan of this kind of game 2.he won a cup with SHA even i say it was a lucky cup run but he won it. won at rangers. finished 2nd in his 1 campagain with scotland. 3.if you go to the games you game see a big difference in performance and it will soon gget results 4.i dont see lower league players relying on a system with a number 10 playing behind an out n out goals scorer along with 2 wingers 5.the fans who stay away are not real fans and should never be called that.
  5. fair enough, thought you may have been one of those who will go just to moan & boo
  6. You know what, I don't think I will. Contrary to popular belief he hasn't suddenly turned it around in the last month. We're not as poor as we were in late November/December but we're still pretty damn shit. The football is still on the whole boring and negative and the results are still terrible. A 29% win record (which includes wins over Hereford and Bristol Rovers) is shocking. I'm not cutting him any slack unless things start to change. tbh i dont know how you can go to the games feeling like that
  7. SHA do have a more attacking team now but still dont play amazing football in the games that i have watched
  8. apart from the retarded post above me . i am liking the looks of some of these kits and may actualy buy one for a change unless as is usual they are extortionate prices
  9. stats speak for themselves Not really, stats can be used to suit any argument. A case can be made for in O'neill's defence for his first year, for instance we came 16th the year before, he was only employed in early August so didn't have a pre-season. and inheritted one hell of a piss poor squad. I'm not an O'Neill fan by the way, he had many many flaws. the is true but at the end of the seaon all that mattaers is how many points u have and where u finish
  10. just got to say that the ticket office is the face of the company and gets quite a lot of hassle they are not likely to be happy
  11. also sky sports stats on the game Alex McLeish has won none and lost three of his five matches as a Premier League coach against Newcastle United. This fixture ended 6-0 to the Magpies last season Aston Villa have lost just two of their last 12 Premier League away games (W4 D6 L2) and none of the last five (W3 D2). None of the last nine Premier League meetings between Newcastle and Aston Villa have been away wins. Newcastle have lost just two of their last 15 Premier League home matches (W8 D5 L2). Aston Villa have recovered more points from losing positions than any other team in the top flight (11). Villa have conceded 55% of their goals in the first half, a league-high proportion. Darren Bent has score in four of his last five Premier League appearances and now has 100 Premier League goals. Aston Villa are the only team in the Premier League without a goal from a corner this season. Aston Villa have conceded more goals from corners than any other team in the top flight this season (
  12. Also, Aston Villa are good on the counter-attack as we saw against Arsenal last week. They also played very well in the second half against QPR and I just think they will be a threat to Newcastle. I haven't been impressed with them this season, but they've been decent in the last couple of games. If they'd got through the first 10 minutes of the second half at Arsenal without conceding a goal then I think they'd have won the game. They might even have picked Arsenal off again. If they play like that against Newcastle they won't be too far away. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2 thats coming from merson who normally predicts doom and gloom for us so we must be doing something right
  13. need to look at recent performances. they have been very good recently (since xmas) good at chelsea swnsea was shite (but imo swnsea won from 2 individual mistakes) good at bristol everton was mostly good wolves was good apart from 20 minutes arsenal was good until 9 minutes after half time qpr (forgetting the result) was positive 21 shots speaks for its self and they were not long range shots but from in and around the penalty area AM & the boys are improving, just lacking some consistenscy. we seem to have a 10-20 minute spell were we are poor and concede sloppy goals, mainly from individual mistakes that can be cut out
  14. when he was appointed hes wasnt my first choice but after feeling sorry for him earlier in the season, i a have recently startde to like him
  15. i doubt it, we were more direct under MON than Big eck
  16. quote] my mates did, yes they were happy for winning, but always commented on the style. They were never impressed with his tactics or way of playing.
  17. there has been some good football at times. results wise a lot of players have made mistakes at vital times And if Hughton is a little overrated, why did he get Newcastle promoted and into a health position in the PL before being unexpectedly sacked and why are SHA now firmly planted in the play off zone with a game in hand despite having to play so many more games because of their Europa involvement? this was newcastles starting 11 in the championship GK: #1, Steve Harper, RB: #12, Danny Simpson,CB: #27, Steven Taylor, CB: #2, Fabricio Coloccini, LB: #3, José Enrique, RM: #16, Ryan Taylor, CM: #8, Danny Guthrie,CM: #17, Alan Smith, LM: #18, Jonás Gutiérrez, AM: #4, Kevin Nolan, CF: #24, Andy Carroll, that is going to win most games SHA have a defence made up of premier league experience. 1 striker that will always score goals at that level and another who cost them £7m and has played in the champions league
  18. just remember the players he had to work with there. a few of my SHA mates were raving about when he signed benitez arate bently and were linked with keane pavuchenko and babel he has better attacking players now so dont expect the same as before also hougton is a little overrated its only the last few games they have scored a lot of goals before that it was boring and winning by a goal
  19. cant remember the last time he played like one for the whole game
