  1. I'm probably one of the only one's on here to defend Lambert to the hilt, and I will continue doing so.

His starting XI infuriated me tonight. You cannot leave both Agbonlahor and Weimann on the bench and play a 3-5-2. Hopefully this will be the last we see of this formation.

Do I think we will get relegated? Probably. But Its more Lerners fault than Lambert. Do you think Redknapp/Pardew/Adkins are better managers than Lambert? I dont, but theyve been allowed a huge portion of money to bring in players on higher wages. Lamberts task has almost been made impossible by the chairman and if he's sacked, his replacement will be in for the same problems.

The club is rotten at the core, Lambert is just the fall guy. This is pretty much backed up by that utterly ridiculous, incompetent statement made by the 'chairman' the other day.

Lerner's thrown in the towel. Lets face up to it.

  2. Quintero from Pescara would certainly be an interesting signing.

Has great balance and super skillful, only problem is, he's the same size as Bannan and is only 20...

I'm all for bringing in these types but we need a big strong Defensive midfielder before this lad comes along...which wont happen anyway.

  3. Getting rid of our best left back is not 'good business'.

It will be a miracle if we're still in this division come next season.

Huge game Tuesday as all the teams around us have tough games. Chance for us to put some semblance of daylight between us and the inevitable.

Idiots run our club. Complete and utter idiots.

  4. We are at that point now where we're at such a low point; confidence is absolutely demolished, the manager is just some sort of forlorn figure staring into the abyss. It's weird but i'm sort of finding these results easier to take now because the sheer sense of inevitability that we've had it - down and out without a whimper.

Only really heard about an hour of the game but the second half sounded more or less the same as recent games. Players scared, no team shape or any sort of team unity, it's obvious to me that the players are as resigned to their fate as much as we are. The situation is clearly now proving too big for Lambert, his body language says it all, he's absolutely lost. Of course it doesn't help when you hear time and time and time and time again that Bannan/Clark/Bennett losing the ball, pretty much meaning that whenever we lose possession immediate pressure is heaped back on us and it affects every area of the team. We have a lot of really, really bad players.

I sort of thought after the loss to Wigan that things would get a lot worse before they got better and this is our lowest point, i'm not sure it can get much lower until relegation, which will now happen. A really odd last few weeks as a football fan and i don't know what happens from here but neither does anyone else at the club. Odd times.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Does anyone else just kind of get the feeling...no-one really knows what to do? Like, literally. No-one? Does the club have a plan? Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm at a loss. what is our strategy? Who run's the club? Anyone?

  5. Please explain why he should not be sacked..........

It will cost us about 6m.

Do you trust Lerner to go and find another manager?

If we got a new manager, it will be the same squad of players and yes, whilst we may have a honeymoon period, things will be the same.

Now's not the time to sack the manager.

  6. Lerners made some massive mistakes and lost 100's of millions in the last few years. He inherited a massive credit card company and a hugely profitable American football team. He sold both, his wife took him for millions and now he is only left with us.

I'd love someone to audit his business acumen in great depth because looking from the outside in, he just seems like some rich kid who has no idea how to do anything right. Literally, anything. Everything he touches seems to fail.

A supporter buyout is out of the question though. We just have to hope for the best under what we have now. I personally like lambert and Lerner is clearly Trying to rectify the mistakes he's made over the last 5 years.

We'll probably end up in the championship though. It's not the end of the world though, perhaps we will come back stronger?

I doubt it though, under this buffoon.

  7. Should be in the team every week. We need his strength, power and pace. He runs the channels well and can cause defenders problems, albeit on an inconsistant basis.

That's not me necessarily saying he's a great player, he isn't, its more of an indictment on a poor team. Who else we gonna play? Holman? Meh.

  8. How Vlaar isn't good enough I don't know. He made a mistake yes, but we are far stronger as mentioned with him in the side. The guy is literally having to carry defenders like Bennett and Clark alongside him who simply aren't good enough right now, and there is no midfield protection.

We have major problems, Vlaar isn't one of them.

    Completely agree.

  9. N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann and Benteke are our only chance of staying up as things currently stand. Unfortunately you can only really play 3 of them (IMO).

CNZ has looked decent last few matches.

Our Defence is shocking, Clark, Bennett, Bannan, Westwood and Delph are just woeful in a defensive sense.

I honestly can see this lad being key. IF he continues like he has done recently.

  10. Sacking the manager isn't the answer.

We beat Man City and Norwich on the way to this game. Our best players are all Lambert's signings (IMO) and he needs to be given until the end of the season.

Defending set pieces is obviously a massive worry as we are shit at it, but, has anyone mentioned Given tonight? I have only seen the goal a couple of times but would Guzan have come and claimed that corner? Why choose a keeper who cannot command his box over an excellent one who does?

    Strange decision that.

All in all, gutted. Newcastle is a huge match, I just hope we have what it takes to beat them after tonight's blow on confidence.

A big strong defensive midfielder is needed desperately in this window, I honestly believe it could be the difference between 17th and 18th.

Sacking the manager isn't the answer.

    Gutted.
