  1. Why do you have access to evidence not in the public domain?

no , not at all , but just because someone else printed it I didn't think it made it Ok for me to repeat it ?

reading the story again though it seems that I wasn't paying attention  and your thoughts about new evidence being used at the appeal are indeed most likely correct

the story says "Police plan to present potentially damning new evidence against Barry George if the Appeal Court orders A RE-TRAIL over the murder of TV presenter Jill Dando.

    (my Caps)

  2. Thinking about this - are the prosecution allowed to present new evidence?

they want to be allowed to present some other stuff they allegedly have on him ( won't go into detail in case it is likely to get the site in trouble) ..my guess it the prosecution have to argue it as a point of law and try and have it accepted ... if it pertains to the case then I can't see why it cannot be used ...

one sided programmes like the CH4 one will have helped his cause no end as the pressure will be on the appeal court to release him

  3. Not as funny as the America road trip , (the cow on top of Clarksons car will never be beaten on TV )

and not as enjoyable as the trip to the North Pole

But still a good show ...

  4. is that he's a little fruitloop-ptang-kipperbang and not really competent enough to carry out a professional style hit.

haven't you seen the usual suspects ..... he is kaiser Sosa

  5. having watched a rather one sided documentry on CH4 tonight regarding Jill Dando's murder and the appeal that starts tomorrow , Do people think he is Guilty or Innocent

And if you watched the documentry , did it cause you to change your opinion ?

As I understand it from the papers today , the police have some evidence relating to George that they couldn't use at the first trial that with changes in law they can now present . Have to assume from this , that it has nothing directly to do with the Dando case but that the police are going to use it to paint a picture of George as a bad man

    So anyway , Poll Question

  6. there are papers on this , I think it's called rational self-interest theory or something ...

I do good acts becuase it's in my nature to , and a result of the way i was brought up ..I don't think about reward per say , I just sort of do them on impulse .. My good acts are hardly going to get me a sainthood ,I wouldn't drop everything and run off to become an aid worker in Africa for example ... do i feel better about myself after performing a good act an act ? ..I guess the answer would have to be yes , but that's a result of the action and not the cause

I also commit bad acts because it's in my nature to ...my bad acts are nothing too sinister ,just as my good actions are nothing to write home about ... just things like pretending to be asleep when the baby is crying so the wife has to get up , maybe driving through large puddles and splashing school children at times ..the sort of things that you just can't resist ...

I'm not religious so don't have to worry about any sort of Judgement day when I die ..What I do have to do is look at myself in the mirror every day and live with myself ...and that is something I can comfortably do ..probably doesn't answer the question , but it's the best answer I cna give !!

  7. I'm not sure where you are getting your "no one has read it " view from .. think someone may have mislead you in a post

A first draft has been circulated and can be read in French and in English

people can argue about mice , men ,elephants or whatever else they choose to spice up /amuse their arguement ..

the practical outcome of both treaties is pretty much the same and we all know what happened to it last time ...

  8. I think this says all we need to know about the revised treaty , written bysomeone who has read it

Once enforced, there will quite simply be no more significant powers left solely with the governments of the member states, and outside the orbit of the EU's formal institutions.

But for the UK, with its unique global links and lack of sympathy with the highly regulated and protectionist EU model, increasing political and economic integration can only be to its disadvantage in the rapidly changing world of the 21st Century.

  9. If I felt strongly enough about it then as part of the next election that would help me decide on which way I would vote

    :crylaugh:

yeah I can really see you not voting labour

It would be even more interesting if each political party gave their respective MP's a free vote on this and they had to explain their decisions and how they came to them.

yeah mean other than "I had to vote that way or the party would remove the party whip from me " as they did with the last vote the government were about to lose

  10. A referendum is NOT a general election. Even if they held one on the last thing and they lost it means nothing other than they would change the policy.

if they lost it I'd be fairly confident it would cause a vote of no confidence in the house and most likely a leadership battle ..so there is quite a bit at stake on this

I've posted my views on Europe and the EU before .. I'm against it as you well know and I've given countless arguments to support why the UK is better out of it , just as some have given arguements on why we are better of in it .. such is life when it comes to politics ..

I'm not agaisnt controlled immigration , I have a lot of admiration for the work ethic of people coming to the UK , they certainly shame some of the British in that regard ..

I don't know what the official Tory party line is on Europe / the EU I'm not really that big a follower of political parties and unlike some :-) I form opinions outside the party line ... I vote Tory becuase better dead than red as they say and voting Lib Dem would just be a waste of ink on a waste of paper .. we could reduce our carbon foot print if we din't waste ink putting a box for the lib dems on our ballot papers .. just think about that :-)

  11. Because Mr I love a gimmick

post not posters ... or are you saying that your blind love for everything labour is based on well formed opinion and yet i'm not allowed to have well formed opinions of my own ?

Blair's promise was to hold a vote on an EU constitution .. this new draft AMENDS , rather than replaces, existing EU treaties . The removal of the preamble and references to the EU flag and anthem, as well as the relegation of the charter of fundamental rights to an annexe, are cosmetic changes... they haven't stopped other European heads of government saying that the treaty is a constitution in all but name.. a Scotsman in an England shirt is still a Scotsman at the end of the day

Brown knows he would loose a referendem ..he is hoping that outside events will save him as the French and the Dutch did Blair, Brown, it seems, will have to clutch at straws—and pray that he grasps the right one.

  12. Wrong on so many counts

    those counts being .....

one thing to dismiss another posters post.... is it not more constructive to post some reasoned arguement to back up your counter claims ?

  13. I see your debating skills haven't got any better Drat :-)

So If Brown is so popular why doesn't he hold an election ..one answer ..fear , he knows he is going to lose ......

  14. Brown is the Steve McClaren of PM's in that no one wants him and as such he is running scared for his job .... once he gets enough notice that public opinion is against him he will change his mind and hold the referendum , but try and spin it so that it was always his intention to hold one and that he agrees with the great British people etc ect spin spin etc

in the words of James Goldsmith ... OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT

  15. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, my front room is still a democracy

    have you tried revolution :-)

    mighty Harry Hill's TV Burp

now see I really don't find him funny at all ... but luckily I don't live in a democracy :-)

  16. Really? I was vaguely amused and it caused me to raise my eyes from the Observer Sport monthly, but not so much as a titter left my lips. I genuinely can't understand the excitement about this programme. James May is very good, but the other two with their "ooh, aren't we controversial with our near to the knuckle gags and May is gay jibes" can piss right off.

doesn't your TV has countless other channels and even an OFF button ?

I'm with the others though , it's about the funniest show on TV (apart from South Park) , who cares if it's scripted

driving the small car around the BBC was great and how did Clarkson get away witht the BBC meeting with a midget , an asian , a coloured man , a man in a wheelchair and a tree hugging lesbian liberal .. "sadly the meeting went on for so long the BBC didn't have any time to mkae any TV programs "

  17. Ha ha ha Tony - I didn't realise your Daily Mail subscription was so up to date

I've never met someone so consitantly weak in putting their case across .. you presented a fact , it was shown for the dross that it was , come back with a stronger case , don't resort to weak daily mail retorts .. I don't read the daily mail anymore than you read head in the sand today

So you are honestly saying that people giving false info just to police only accounts for such a small amount. Hmm let me think, uninsured drivers, on the run criminals etc etc etc

You stated 60% of people gave false names to the police as your argument ..and i put the figure on that amount for you ... uninsured drivers etc is a totally different arguement , but one that you didn't state in your case

and now you quote the same source as me in one of your later posts ,now doesn't that make your daily mail jibe look silly

  18. Police say 60% of people stopped give false information.

so of all the reasons you could give , you go for something which is estimated to cost £1.73m a year in police time ...

the estimated annual cost of identy theft and fraud in the UK is £1.72 BILLION and you give an arguement for £1.73 m of it !!

come on i've given you some help with the 1.72 billion , convince us , Why should we carry an ID card ..

  19. What a strange comparison Tony, inferring that on one hand we were becoming a communist state

as usual Ian your wider of the mark than a Savo attempt at goal

I was showing the lesson that History has taught us , or in your case the lesson that history clearly hasn't taught us .. I never even came close to inferring the Uk would become a communist state

Like your arguements for Brown , Blair ,Prescott et al ..you've yet to actuall give a positive for their existance ..so we await your reasoned arguements on why ID cards will make the world a safer place

  20. If you ever visit Budapest , take some time out and visit the House of terror , see the number of Hungarian people Murdered and unjustly enprisoned ,simply for not submitting to the Communist dictatorship which ruled over them ..

could similar happen in the UK ? .. probably not , but take a look at the laws passed by our government in the past years and tell me that labour hasn't moved Britain to a dangerous area ..Civil liberties , We don't even get to vote on a European treaty depsite it being a written promise by the government

  21. If someone from the government can explain to me how having an ID card will prevent terrorism in this country (which is their remit for introducing them ),taking into account the last few attacks were carried out by British Citizens , then I may be prepared to listen to them

however as they can't , they can shove them where the sun don't shine

  22. I went for Go now .. Wright Phillips was a weak link today and should have been removed from the pitch 30 mins before he was ..players get games like that , so not blaming Wright Phillips , but if on the hour mark he had gone 4-5-1 or something we may have been looking at a different result ..I thought Robinson was to blame on the second goal , it looked a simple enough save to make ..Robinson is a keeper in crises and his mistakes have helped cost qualification

McClaren is inept at this level and "discovering Barry " hardly means he deserves the stay of execution ..qualifying was lost by the draw in israel and at home to Macedonia ..not to mention the farce in Croatia ..and the countless other poor displays his teams have produced

go now , then aim on getting a team like this ready for the next world cup qualifyers

    Carson

    Richards Terry Ferdinand Cole

    Lennon Barry Gerrard Young

    Rooney Lita
