  1. What concerns me is that we waited until after the Champions League final to decide we didn't want OGS.. Maybe it's a coincidence but maybe the board were waiting to see what RDM could do at the highest level.. I just hope they realise he was shit at WBA.
  2. No it isn't.. How do you know what Lerner is saying to potential candidates? He could very easily be outlining key criteria with another 5 year plan so to speak. It may actually impress him and many big names that a club that has finished poorly the last two seasons is doing all they can to turn things around, that shows ambition and the big managers want to see that.
  3. I am thinking it is AVB.. If we haven't gone for Lambert or Martinez then we are running short of Premier League experienced vibrant managers. It's not McCarthy as he isn't vibrant, he's a minor step up from McLeish. AVB ticks all the boxes, he did the miraculous at Porto and while he lost the dressing room at Chelsea his age went against him with some of the talent in their squad, I don't think they respected him.. At Villa I think he would do well and it won't be the same as Chelsea, yes we have some big ego's at the club in the form of Dunne and Collins but AVB at Chelsea was forced to muddle through one season before rebuilding, the players knew this and made it very difficult for him to succeed. At Villa, he'll be tasked with rebuilding the second he gets here so it's a different scenario.
  4. he must have the cushiest job in football... 3 years and his first press release :-) That's what has got me.. Why choose now to speak up. Maybe he finally decided to do his job, but it seems like these journalists just checked out our staff listing and found the name of the one guy that would represent us. The fact is for the last 5 or so years Faulkner has been doing his job for him.. Surely the word would come from him.
  5. What was also confirmed is that you're a word removed that needs to **** off and go to bed.. If we want to continue to talk about this on a **** discussion board we will. Now will you kindly go away or contribute something worthwhile.
  6. I won't truly believe it until I see cold hard quotes in writing that he's said this.. Everyone seems to have jumped on the back of what Kendrick wrote in the Birmingham Mail, which also lacked **** quotes. The only people that have quotes from OGS are journalists in Norway where he's said "I'll say more tomorrow" which is not a denial or an admission. To me it's more of a "I'm going home, my wife and I will talk it over and I'll see how I feel in the morning".. I think everyone in the media has jumped to conclusions based on him not leaving the meeting and shouting from the hills "I am Villa manager!!" and assuming the worst..
  7. I don't blame any ITKs as they were spot on until the dying moments where they were foiled by something they could not predict which is the thoughts of OGS himself. They can track his movements, they can somehow get what was said in a meeting but they can't scoop out his thoughts and in the end his free will is what undid them, so the ITKs were brilliant as usual.
  8. If this is true then the OGS chat with Rokke was merely to mend relations before going onto bigger things.
  9. To be a voice of reason and rational thought. Has anyone actually considered the fact that he's meeting with Røkke to merely clear the air given he'll hardly be able to do this once he joins our club, not without a complete media circus following it at least. If they settle their differences now they can get on with doing what they are supposed to be doing, not to mention Røkke won't get in the way if he hears from Solskjær himself that he wants to leave if the offer comes in.. So far Røkke just has Molde FK's word to go on and so far they have shown themselves to be less than professional over the last 5 days.
  10. What an evil pose he has there.. He could be a villain in any Bond film with a pose like that.
  11. We could probably fly him in to Birmingham on the Friday we announce him, it's not like he has to worry about pissing off Rokke and that lot further when he's ours.. He'll do the photo's and press conference then go back to Molde for a week.
  12. Possibly even Chelsea.. Whatever it is he's a fan of our club, maybe he's had the most success as us on Fifa 12 whatever it is I'm glad he's turning down our rivals.
  13. If Chelsea don't go for him he'll use his Champions League win to get any job in Europe, he wouldn't choose us.
  14. Could have been a case that they gave in to the fans over that and weren't going to do it a second time in one managerial hunt. Though like you say it's just a theory, we'll never know what they really do regarding fan response around times like this.
  15. I do think Villa have researchers that will be scanning the major forums and other media. I recall when it was suggested we were seriously looking into Steve McLaren last season and within hours almost of complete fan uproar on the forums the club officially acknowledged he was no longer a target.. Now I doubt McLaren turned us down, I think it was a case of the fans have spoken..
  16. He's in the mix for the Chelsea job according to the BBC. In the same article there is a video interview which states there is no time scale for them to find their new boss.. If they aren't in a hurry and we are looking to wrap this up by the end of this week then Di Matteo is out of the running for Villa by default.
  17. Molde really couldn't win could they? If they didn't give OGS that clause he probably wouldn't have signed for them, they give it to him and he signs for us a year later.. Tough break for a club that small.
  18. He sounds much more reasonable, he doesn't blame OGS that a bigger club has come in for him and he's looking to take it anyone would. Though at the same time it doesn't make good reading for Molde fans that their future seems bleak without OGS..
  19. Given the choice yes, but I don't think Rokke will afford him that choice.
  20. The owner is calling a conference later tonight.. Maybe OGS had no choice, maybe he was told today is his last day as manager.
  21. Just seen OGS telling a player to push up.. That's the kind of anti-McLeish football gesture I like to see.
  22. Yes and from what I've seen is them having most of the possession and making some nice attacks, they lack the clinical finish but from what I've seen they've done the most with the ball.
