  1. Im indifferent.

I dont think we will do as well as we did last season, our squad is weaker, other sides have strengthened and we probably wont be as lucky with injuries this time round either. But im not going to cry about it, i accepted that we are also rans years ago.

Second post in this thread. Almost a year to the day since I wrote it, and oddly, I feel exactly the same!

And you were proved wrong then eh? :D

Again, I take issue. I was writing after 2007/08 where we finished in the also ran position of 6th. I was writing ahead of 2008/09 where we also finished in the also ran position of 6th!

Yes, but you considered 6th to be doing well but doing it a 2nd time wasn't? When you clearly said we wouldn't do as well?

  3. Given

    Richards

    Kompany

    Lescott

    Bridge

    De Jong

    Barry

    Ireland

    Wright-Phillips

    Santa Cruz

    Robinho

Taylor, Onuoha, Garrido, Zabaletta, Petrov, Fernandes, Bellamy.

It actually looks like a fairly decent side to be honest, alot of good, young players rather than massivel, high-profiled, mercenaries. This is if the likes of Dunne, Johnson and Jo leave as well, so they could be stronger, even if they don't get Lescott they'll still be very good.

    Tevez? Maybe Eto'o too.

  4. This is duely noted sir........And I like that polish vodka sebrovka or what ever but I will let you know when U buy it for me

I bet a pint of vodka that garry or barry or what ever his name is will only get a third of the games he was getting here ........alonso says he is open to offers the have de jong, elano , barton, m petrov , sw phillips .....

Barton???? Elano will leave, Petrov and SWP are wingers.

You make no sense I'm afraid.

Barry will have a hard time competeing with kompany and de jong, both are very acomplished holding midfeilders and I can't see Ireland not being first on the team sheet. I give til November before he throws his diamond encrusted dummy out of his pram. Wouldn't it be funny if he's on the bench at VP.

He won't be on the bench, in fact he might be captain.

Give it up lads, Barry is a very good player.

  6. Ie lost count of the amoutn of players that have had that sort of expectation. I'm not saying he can't or won't ever be, but I think the chances are very very slim. From the 7 or so hours of football I've seen from him this season, he certainly isnt close to it atm. He's part of a great attacking team and benefits alot from that. Who wouldnt? His goal tally isnt that far beyond two of his team mates either (if you take into account games played also)

Well if Maradona is the greatest player ever,of the numerous players labelled the "next" Maradona, none have achieved what Messi has so far.

I suppose a World cup is the ultimate stage for him to step up to so we'll wait and see what happens.

  7. If Shearer is there they won't.

Ashley apologises for his mistakes and then there's talk of a 4 year contract for Shearer. Idiots. Everyone of them at that club.

Instead of spunking millions on a club legend with no experience, get on your hands and knees and beg Alan Curbishley to be your manager.
