I was just thinking of what Jones and Bent did to Wolves.
If only we had 2 similar players...
-
actually i don't think Chelsea posses a player of Gabby's qualities, don't get me wrong Drogba can be a goal machine and so he should when you have so called world class midfielders feeding you, but does he really have anything else about his game.
Eh what? Drogba is an absolute beast who possesses everything you want in a forward leading the line. He's strong, creative, fast, great finisher, sets up goals, holds the ball up. :?
Gabby is great but he has a long way to go to match Drogba.

No mention of the fantastic last ditch tackle from Milner to stop Malouda shooting.
Appeared from absolutely nowhere! Brilliant. In fact Milners energy today was astounding, he's liable to appear in any position on the pitch.
No negatives today, Friedel misjudged but was unlucky .
-
Probably a lot at the match, I won't be posting after this anyway.
-
Well he needs to get back playing week in week out injury free, that's a given I think.
-
Is this it? Really?
Should I laugh or cry?
-
Can someone post a link for the highlights please?
Watch them on the city website.
They have a great website.

I'm sorry that i ever doubted O'Neill's eye for a centre back. James Collins was immense again tonight as was Richard Dunne, those two look absolutely imperious at the back, they won almost every header, 50/50 challenge and their slide in tackles were always well timed.
Gabby had another belter, the lad worked hard all game and some of his runs in the second half were inspiring stuff. Milner also worked tirelessly, at one point late in the second half when we had a throw in in city's half he raced across from the left flank to the right to offer an option.
If we had 11 players who put as much effort in as Gabby, Milner and the centre half pairing we'd be champions league material.
I really think that when Downing comes into the team and Delph gets a little more premiership experience that we could have one of the best teams in the league.
Great performance lads!
We already have one of the best teams in the league.

Carew needs to get the ball at his feet or to his head in the box, running at players outside the box or on the wing is not what he does.
Then he isnt good enough. You cant accomodate a striker who cant play outside the box or run on the wings.
I know what your sayin about havin him in the box and i agree thats where he is most dangerous, but villa arent in a position to accomodate that kind of player just yet.
Pleased with the performance tonight again. Get luke young back and we have a solid back 4
I know what you're saying but a player needs to play to their strengths and a team needs to play to a players strengths.
He can only hold the ball up for so long but if there's no players coming to pass it to he's going to lose it. And yes he is out of form somewhat so he's going to seem worse again.

Warnock and Dunne had their best Villa games so far. Really impressed with Warnock, he was up and down all match and set up the goal.
Has he taken corners for us before?
Harsh on Carew from some of ye, he was running the channels and not playing his natural game but he did his best.
Collins and Cuellar were steady, Cuellar saw a lot of action and handled it well.
I also think ye are so easy to criticise Young, you must expect too much, He along with Gabby and Milner provided great outlets.
And speaking of Gabby he was like a man possessed tonight.
Petrov and Sidwell were both good as well, Petrov playing that good possession which is his best asset.

We could have repeated the Liverpool game with a 4-5-1 but now, , **** it.
City:
Given, Zabaleta, Lescott, Toure, Bridge, De Jong, Barry, SWP, Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor.
-
Link for the team?
-
Gutted I can't make this game, really wanted to be there. I'm confident of a result today, I think they will be favourites but I can see us surprising a few people.
Who takes penalties for City?
They haven't had one yet. But I think I can guess...
-
Imagine if it's not 4-5-1. Oh my.
But then imagine we won with 4-4-2.
-
Lot of negativity lads. C'mon, their defence is like a sieve, 6-4 final score I think.
-
Makes no sense why's there no mark on Dublin for Richard Dunne? and who the ****'s from Cork?
Stephen O'Halloran
-
Makes no sense why would there be a tick on Trinidad for Yorke and not one in Drogheda for Steve Staunton? Nor Medellín for JPA? Plus countless other players not represented.
It doesn't cover the time of JPA or Staunton.
-
Hometowns of Aston Villa players?
Possibly today and back in the day, because Trinidad and Tobago is marked and we sold Dwight Yorke.
Definitely it as I have seen it on the bbc website.
-
It will be
---------De Jong
----SWP---------Barry
Tevez------Adebayor-----Bellamy
seeing as swp is an out and out winger, that is basically then a 4-2-4, with barry and de jong holding the mf together.
a tad adventurous.
however, petrov is also essentially a winger, so replacing swp with him would make little difference, it's just be on the other flank.
4-2-4, it's 1958 again!
But SWP does play in that somewhat central role at City (bizarrely) compared to Petrov who is a pure winger.
-
Maybe, but as I said, after how Petrov played on MOnday, I can't see them dropping him. But I also can't see them dropping Bellamy or Tevez to fit SWP in.
It will be
---------De Jong
----SWP---------Barry
Tevez------Adebayor-----Bellamy
GUARANTEED!
I think Ireland is fecked up, if he was fit they'd have a problem.
-
I think they'll go
Given
Zabaletta-Toure-Lescott-Bridge
De Jong-Barry-Petrov
Bellemy-Tevez-Adebayor
That's with Bellamy playing a sort of wide right winger/striker role
Can't see them dropping Petrov or Bellamy after the performance against West Ham
Petrov won't be picked over SWP, I can tell you that right now.
-
Bellamy - Adebayor - Tevez the very likely front line.
It will be difficult to keep a clean sheet but I think City are also very vulnerable.

How bad do you think Wolves are? That team will not and should not be selected.
