  1. Physics does not say that at all.

The Einsteinian model requires that mass becomes infinite at the speed of light.

One cannot be inferred from the other.

Well if mass becomes infinite than the energy required becomes infinite too. Which would be impossible I would think. This isn't an argument I am capable of having though as I'd just embarrass myself.

  2. On a pretty wide tangent from the creationist thread I thought I would create this.

I would say there just has to be.

But unless they're hiding behind the moon or there is some monumental advancement in technology we will never meet them. Although communication is not out of the question. Maybe.

  3. Capello would be perfect but knowing they FA they'll try to play it safe with some Yes man tosser like Shearer.

Capello generates controversy wherever he goes and doesn't care about upsetting people. But he still gets results no matter what.

If he was appointed I guarantee there would be some big names not playing or left out altogether (at least until they did things the way they're told).

I think the FA would be too afraid to appoint him.

  4. Have faith little one.

    Ooh err.

You read one article and you act like he's already joined them.

And what wonderkids are you talking about?

    Robinson,Lennon,Dawson,Huddlestone,Rozenthal.

    Robinson :?

Lennon,Dawson,Huddlestone. Spurs took a risk on these players and it paid off. They weren't beating off the competition with a stick at the time.

    Rozenthal. Who?

We have exciting youg players too in Young, Gabby and Maloney. The grass isn't always greener.

  5. I read west ham were favourite to get ashley young at one point to.

He may well end up at spurs and i know confidence in signing players isn't your strong point jez but we should probably wait untill something official appears.

TBH we still have no idea if MON wants him.

I dont remember West Am ever being favourites tbh anyway, its so frustrating how Spurs get all the blumin wonderkids and exciting players!

Such an awesome player would make their mediocre center midfield awesome whilst at the same time stretching away from us...ffs!

Obviously anything could happen your correct LM, but this is not Young, Sneijder has 1 international team mate at Villa and for all we know he might not even like him. Whilst Spurs have London a dutch manager and europe, bugger!

  6. MON transfers when he was at Celtic, well those worth mentioning.....

    Chris Sutton - Chelsea - 6M

    Joos Valgaren - Roda - 3,8M

    Alan Thompson - AVFC - 2,75M

    Didier Agathe - Hibs - 50K

    Neil Lennon - Leicester - 5,75m

    Rab Douglas - Dundee - 1,5M

Bobo Balde - Toulouse - Free

    Steve Guppy - Leicester - 350K

    John Harton - Coventry - 6M

    Magnus Hedman - Coventry - 1,5M

Stanislav Varga - Sunderland - Free

    Not an impressive list!

Well I think the Celtic fans will argue over that. Some very successful signings there.

  7. One concern I would have about signing him is not that he wouldn;t be able to handle himself in the ENglish Prem as he puts himself about a fair bit, but whether he would WANT to handle himself, or just swan around a bit as, in his eyes, hes not at a massive club. Some could argue we're similar to Ajax - but they're HIS club.

Ajax are one of the biggest clubs in europe. :? But we do have the premier league which is a big attraction.

Also haven't Bayern missed out on the Champions League which will dent their chances.?

  8. Not sure why Utd would be after him when they have Kusczak as backup to Van Der Saar and also have Foster coming back.....so maybe a realistic target for us? Having said that MON could have been looking at someone else!

He'd have to be first choice wherever he goes. If Utd do want him VDS must be on his way out. He is rated very highly so it's not impossible.

  9.

I think a number of players are overhyped because they are foreign. Michael Essien, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy were always too good for us. As a general rule, I think we should stick with what we know. I'd much rather Darren Bent than Saviola. That's not to say that if there are gems or bargains to be found abroad, we oughtn't to go for them - we should, of course - but I just feel we ought to remember that sometimes John Smith can be just as good as Juan Federico de Ninho.

You've obviously never seen Juan Federico de Ninho play. He's like a young Maradonna.

  10. A lot of you seem to lack confidence in the ability of Villa to sign top class players. Media pundits are now starting to speculate about Aston Villa as the club most capable of joining the top 4 and yet still we talk about signing other clubs cast offs!

Mon will be targeting the kind of top players that other clubs don't want to lose if he is to back up the well publicised ambitions of our new board, so shouldn't we be concentrating on deals where financial clout and AVFC's ambition can win out? Why not bid for Huntelaar, Sneijder, Ribery et al rather than Defoe, Sidwell, NRC etc.

Watching the top teams last season demonstrated that the reason they are a class apart is because they have two or three outstanding players who win matches for them. How many more games would Villa win if we had three more outstanding individual players in our team?

I agree but at least for next season we should aim to sign top players but not necessarily from the top clubs. We need to sign players for whom we are a step up or at least on an equal footing with their current club.

  11. How about some of the dutch players? RVP, Robben...

    Dream on.

What's that supposed to mean? World class players i think i heard somewhere...

What kind of chance do we have of signing Robben or RVP?

It's one thing to be linked with players like Huntelaar and Sneijder, they would be stepping up to a better league with better wages. But Robben and RVP are at 2 of the biggest clubs in the world.
