  1. Caught 5 minutes of the show tonight by mistake, had the pleasure of listening to the footballing oracle that is Pete.

He really is something special isn’t he, probably a ginger 4 eyed single child that was hated at school.

    Mate.

Definitely not a panic buy...and we're feeding on scraps.

I don't know if anyone watched the last 2 or 3 months...we don't create chances.

Bang on. Without doubt the best finisher in the squad.

Also had covid, no surprise he couldn’t do a full 90 minutes.

So who of our senior players that are out, has Covid/is shielding, which Dean referred to pre-match? Either Ings, Traore or Sanson presumably.

It isn’t Traore as i saw him parking his Lambo in the car park an hour before kick off!

Losing Terry and O'Kelly hasn't helped. The pre season was a mess with the Grealish saga. And he hasn't had chance to pick his best XI yet. We are still only 4 points from the top half and I don't think its time to panic just yet.

Whilst this is very true, the bigger and more concerning issue for me is our form over the calendar months.

Sadly I think Dean has reached his ceiling with us and if we are to progress then we need a change of manager and coaching staff.

Isn’t he famous for destroying Man Utd on his debut then never doing anything else?

I’m old enough to remember that game, he was magnificent! Probably the best debut I’ve witnessed.

You know those pre match films they show at VP immediately pre kick off to build atmosphere-the ones with lots of club highlights from the past to present day, one of them narrated by actor David Bradley? I think they’re brilliant compilations but can’t help finding it sad that they’ve airbrushed JG out of our history. Like he didn’t exist for us, or give us some great memories.

I presume they are trying to avoid booing or something but it’s depressing that they think the fan base couldn’t watch a rerun of his goal against Blues for example without booing a tv screen.

As others have alluded to, perhaps the manner in which he and his team conducted themselves has left a sour taste amongst our board of directors. Purslow and our owners appear to have always conducted their dealings in a professional manner and maybe camp Grealish were less so.

If the decision to remove Grealish from the highlights reel has been authorised by the board then maybe it is a reflection of how certain parties conducted themselves.

  7. Kasabian Sheffield last night. Seen them many times but first time without Tom.

They didn’t disappoint, they’re a different band with more of Serge’s dance tunes on the setlist but definitely good live.

Looking forward to seeing them in Brum in a couple of weeks.

  8. I’d be surprised if any Villa fan who’s had the Highfield Rd match day experience would want them to be successful.
They’re like the irritating, spotty, four eyed ginger kid at school.

Why? He's 23 and has a higher trajectory than any other English defender his age I can think of apart from maybe Tomori.

Maguire and Stones are injury prone and Tyrone is established as the third choice CB. The options behind those three are dangerously average imo.

He has a very real chance of playing for England in the next 3 to 4 years.

The flaw in your argument is the criteria on which the current manager selects players.

Who you play for and amount of letters in your name are higher on the list than current form.

If it was form alone then Grealish would have more caps and Ezri, Targett and possibly Cash would’ve made squads by now.

  10. Walked past his house earlier as he lives round the corner, safe to say he’s celebrating tonight as the tunes were on full volume.

Been our best player so far this season for me.

Mentioned how flat the Newcastle game at home was despite the result… well that was the total opposite.

Unbelievable from start to finish, we even got “my old man” back.

Never felt so positive leaving after a game losing 3-0.

Proper old school villa away support that.

Echo that, superb in that away end last night.

Can't get the Bailey song out of my head.

Magnificent yesterday, as soon as we exited Earls Court tube you could sense it was going to be a good day out.

Expect more of the same at ManUre!

  12. On the way home from the game and can’t get my head around the negativity from some posters. The result doesn’t reflect the performance and the fans today were immense.

No criticism of the players or the management, the only criticism is towards the officials and the  negativity of the usual suspects on here.

He's not a useless prick. He took us to  the semi-final of a world cup and Euro-final which is a lot better than any other manager since Ramsey. He just is very defensive and didnt trust Grealish.

I beg to differ, he is a useless prick, a lucky one as well. Any half decent manager with the players available would have won the Euros.

Villa lad? I'm sure I've seen him do an interview previously where he said the one club he would never want to play for is Villa due to being a nose.

No definitely a Villa lad, as is Redmond.

I was in the Trinity Road with my Dad and I heard his leg break. Andy Gray, I think it was ran up and pushed Roberton over.

Fast forward a few years and I was selling to pubs. One week I was in Edinburgh and saw a pub called Cropley’s, I went in and framed on the wall there was a Scotland shirt, an Arsenal shirt and of course a Villa shirt. The landlord was indeed Alex himself. We had a great chat and his Mom even made us a cup of tea. A lovely man with a lovely Mom.

Yep i was in the Trinity with my dad and the sound of the break was audible.
