As much as I dislike Burnley, how ironic would this be if this signing is what relegates Newcastle.

Really don’t like Suarez, would need him to wear a muzzle if we sign him.

They are a soulless club now, but their history pre PL isn't too shabby. They were a proper club with a team full of household names and they bounced around the divisions just like Chelsea and Manure did for a while.
That history is what makes what they've become even more sad. More soulless than Chelski and that's saying something.
That’s a very relevant and often forgotten point. I had a lot of time for City fans at the time they were relegated and dropped down to the old first division, they had a loyal fan base who followed their team week in week out regardless of which division they were in. Away games at Maine Rd were interesting to say the least especially after the game but they were a proper football club.
Nowadays they’re as soulless as a club can be, a tourist day out with half and half scarves everywhere - a light blue version of ManUre.

Been with us from the age of 6 . I think we can safely say he is a villa fan !
My son played alongside him for a couple of seasons, his dad was a glory hunter so it’s no guarantee he’s Villa.

Unsurprisingly there’s one bitter bellend wishing a serious injury in his first training session.
Classless as ever. The sooner they’re dissolved the better.Utter pointless football club.

Pretty sure bullfighting is illegal in Catalonia
It is thankfully. Just a pity the other major spanish cities haven’t banned that abhorrent tradition.

And that they’re likely going down… I doubt he’ll join a team that’s won one game all season and has Eddie Who has a manager.
This shouldn’t be forgotten, who in their right mind would choose to work with Eddie Howe rather than SG?

Hopefully his last appearance in a Villa shirt. The dive was embarrassingly shameful, I never want to see any Villa player attempting to cheat like Trez today..
He’s league 1 standard at best. Turkish league would be ideal for him.

Bloody tested positive so can’t go to the game today so will be watching on tv instead.
Predicting a comfortable away win with Ollie getting on the scoresheet.- 1

He's not. Sterling's much better.
He’s not. JG before his move was better than Sterling.
Sterling’s decision making is poor, his assists were inferior, given the choice I’d have JG over RS.

I'd take him back for the £100m in a purely hypothetical situation and he takes on the same contract he had when he left...or near enough.
Some people talk absolute waffle in this thread. You loved him. He's the best player you've ever seen in a Villa shirt.
Melts.
No, as good as we was for us he’s not at the same level as God or Sid. Both performed at a higher level for a lot longer.

I’ve always defended Westwood as I believe he received a lot of unfair stick but Doug is light years better than Westwood.

That they could throw £100 mill at JG and probably also Kane if they had their way just shows how powerful they are. They will win the league again because they have a better squad than anyone else and the best manager. JG went there for all these reasons, he wanted to be a part of what he perceives as the 'best' - so it's absolutely hilarious his performance levels are now that of a robot - he literally sold his soul.
Debatable. The media keep telling us he is, yet despite all the money spent he’s yet to win the Champions League at Ci£ey.

I stopped listening to TalkShite a long time ago as I can’t stand the majority of the presenters however I’d make an exception for Jordan. He’s head and shoulders above all the muppets on that station.
Always respectful about Villa, recognises Small Heath as being the tinpot rabble they are, his opinions generally are well thought out and backed up with facts.
Still not enough to make me switch over from Radio X though.

I don’t think Gerard would cut him as much slack as Deano did either.
He isn’t going to fully reach his potential unless he curbs his lifestyle. And I don’t think he can.

My message to cheer up and give Leeds' fans hope:
You've lost just four of the last ten, but those defeats were to Spurs, Chelsea, Man City and on form Arsenal, Chelsea games was a valiant effort, and Arsenal and Man City will beat other teams by similar scorelines never mind teams missing many of their key players.
You're still five points clear of the botttom three, yes Watford and Burnley have games in hand, but Watford have lost seven of the last nine, and I don't think games being called off will help their situation, both had a favorable run of fixtures coming up which could well have presented them with a good chance of going on a run, if those games are now to be called off and rearranged at random dates spread across the season rather than one after the other then that takes away the chance they might have had to build some momentum from those games.
Some important players to return from injury, the small squad is always going to be a problem, but should have enough to at least finish above three teams in the league this season, in fact a lower to midtable finish is still what I'd expect.
But my warning would be that need to strengthen in January and try and spend more wisely.
Is this a wind up?

Ings seem so slow moving and unfit to me. And it's not just last game. It's all season.
We seem to be playing better as team without him and I think he is just aging very badly. Similar to Rooney.
As I've said I think his better days are well past him.
Utter drivel.
I’ve been to every game this season and Ings has impressed me with his work rate and how well he presses.

Lost 1-0 against a very good team, had to endure 90 mins of a knob head sitting behind me slagging every aspect of our performance
Having got home and read this thread there’s several posters that could’ve been him….

Not ideal when Bertie is also out for a few weeks.

The Jack “stood by us when we got relegated ” line is absolute nonsense.
Not one single approach was made for him by another club when we got relegated, no one wanted him. The first approach was Spurs and he wanted to go. The next approach was UTD, and he admitted a couple of days ago that he thought that would get done. The final approach was City and he left, due to the buyout clause he insisted on.
So how was he loyal? He wanted to leave at every opportunity.
Nail on head.

Funny how he mentions coming back one day on the week we play them. **** him. Whilst he plays for another team in the UK he's fair game for slating imo. Especially tonight. Anyone thinking it's not going to affect him getting slaughtered by the VP crowd is mistaken. It will bother him.
I hope so

Would be grateful if the O2 phone network was sorted whilst at VP, no signal there whatsoever.

Caught 5 minutes of the show tonight by mistake, had the pleasure of listening to the footballing oracle that is Pete.
He really is something special isn’t he, probably a ginger 4 eyed single child that was hated at school.

Ridiculous statement. Bennett was nowhere near as bad as some made him out to be.
Another player in a long list of scapegoats.
