I used to use a company called Danycar, who were always reasonable.

A company called Auriga Crown are a Spanish national chain, again reasonable, but beware of the fact that they charge you for a full tank of fuel upfront, and you bring it back empty.

After several years f flying to Malaga, I no longer go there, so i don't have any recent experience.

Try doyouspain.com They offer discounted rentals with all the major hire companies. I am a regular traveller to Malaga and they are always the cheapest. And as someone else said please be aware that most, if not all, companies now charge for a full tank of juice and offer no refund for whatever you return.

Went with Niza cars in the end. Was decent but as Bully said above, they never said that we would have to pay above the odds for a tank of diesel. Didnt use all of it - left about a quarter of a tank. Worked out about €40 a day for the car. Expensive enough considering we were only using it to get from one hotel to another and parking up for a few days....
