irreverentad
I am going to Toronto at the middle of May to see family. I am not sure what to expect. Any tips on the city? or things I must see? Cheers
drat01
Cracking place - CN tower obviously, Niagra trip, Steam Whistle brewery :-), in May it should be warm so you can go to the "beach"
irreverentad
Thanks drat. The brewery especially sounds great! Also tempted to go to a baseball game as well. Is it "warmish" therefore jumper weather or will t-shirt and jeans be ok most of the time? Anyone else any thoughts on things to do?
choffer Posted March 31, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted March 31, 2011 Should be plenty warm enough by then. Algonquin is a must - definitely worth a day or two up there. I would say go and see a hockey game but by then the season is always over in Toronto. Do the PATH without getting lost at least 5 times. St Lawrence market is good fun, if you're into that kind of thing. Ice House winery is good too. Basically - Canadian life is all about the outdoors. They've got loads of it so go and have a nose
thetrees
Niagara Falls is a must. The Maid of the Mist still ranks as one of the greatest experiences of my lifetime.... The town's shit though
villafann
I have a friend who´s been to Toronto and liked it a lot. Never been to Canada myself, but would love to go oneday. Have a good trip!
irreverentad
Thanks for the advice. I am really looking forward to it. I will definately add The Maid of the Mist onto my 'things to do' list!
leviramsey Posted April 19, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted April 19, 2011 From a May 2006 Blue Jays game, if you're looking for an idea of the weather. (and it also demonstrates how much better "O Canada" is than "The Star Spangled Banner")
parisvilla
See a ball game and don't go to Niagra Falls would be my tips. Niagra Falls is one of the most depressing places i've ever been. If you want to see a spectacular waterfall go to Iguazu.
