Formations Old and New

Who is one major manager (2nd Division or above in Europe or 1st Div elsewhere) who often uses a very traditional “old school” formation …

… and who is one who uses an exceptionally unusual or ground-breaking formation*?

Could you also say where these managers are now?

Thank you. This stuff fascinates me!

* I realize that the questions could be complicated because some managers might use an old school formation but use it in innovative or bizarre ways, and then there’s a question of how spread out or compact the formations are. So however you decide to interpret is fine with me.

Sven-Goran Eriksson never changed from 4-4-2. He actually got the system he played for all the years managing from Englishman Bob Houghton.

The 4-4-2 is still used by Swedish managers and was the one we used when we got bronze in 94'
