Very poor first half but better second. 3-5-2 needs to be done with but at least we made changes at half time. Disappointed with Cash and Targett and someone needs to get into Mings’ ear to remind him of the captain’s role to lead. Buendia very poor and for me Ings/Watkins don’t work together

Sanson very disappointing so far (rusty?). Can’t remember him making a successful pass; but then as others have said we are very disjointed anyway. Decent save from Zych a few minutes ago

Read the Barrow forum, this made me laugh
My Canadian wife who knows nothing about football (only Ice Hockey) said the problem with Barrow is the goalie, as he has let in 6 goals... I'm going to put the kettle on....
My Canadian fiancée, who knows a lot about football thanks to 8 years of watching Villa thought that Chuk1 and Chuk2 were decent and the ball from JPB as previously mentioned was filthy

Interestingly I spent yesterday playing FIFA 21 Online as Villa to see if I’d come across anyone playing as a similar club. The answer?
Spurs
Liverpool
United
Liverpool
Barca
Juventus
Spurs
Liverpool
The people I was playing against are who this whole thing was aimed at. Good riddance.

Hoping against hope it’s not true but heave seen/heard rumours doing the rounds that the drink and possibly substances might be more of a problem for Jack than has been reported.
Really hope it’s not true but I can’t think of any other reason that his return keeps being delayed :(

Yes ..... has looked jaded for a few games now. Ollie Watkins minus a yard of pace is simply a lightweight, ineffective frontman. He struggled to stay with the pace tonight and I think Smith should have subbed him after 60 mins because everything was bouncing off him when we desperately needed to keep hold of it.
No.

Wikipedia reckons he’s Gareth Barry’s son? Is that correct?

Embarrassing on MOTD there. Danny Murphy really doesn’t like us does he?
Let’s keep making him miserable

A win’s a win but I’d just like us to pull the trigger a bit more often in and around the box. I know they were hard to break down but there were a few opportunities to take a shot but people (e.g. Jack, DL) would cut back and look for a pass into the box rather than having a dig.
Anyway, 3 points and positive goal difference, can’t ask for much more from the first game.

Second half drinks break summed it up. Everyone has given up

Everyone passive

Expected nothing and was handsomely rewarded.
If Jota is the answer, what is the question?

JT is part of the problem. Not the solution

Death.
Taxes.
Deeney.
Although I would love to have him (or someone like him) in the team, even though he is a nose

To emphasise the point.

I know it’s an IF, but saying it anyway. We see out the games where we’ve been leading and we are 3rd.

Strangest thing tonight which I'm hoping someone has the answer for, why did Declan Rice applaud the Holte end for a good 30 seconds? Im not confusing him for snoddy as his came over later. Is Rice a Villa fan or something? Or just trying to get fans on his side to keep his England caps up? Weird
Think I read somewhere he was due to come on loan to us at the start of last season then the deal got canned. Might have been in this month's FourFourTwo

Wasn't Andre Marriner banned from reffing Villa games for some reason?
He’s a Villa fan. I was sat a couple of rows behind him and I think his Son at the Liverpool semi final a few years ago. He enjoyed it as much as the rest of us did when we scored

Nice to see we sent GG over there with 2 tattoos on his knees. If you zoom in a lot, you can read them - they say “we paid for this knee” “...and this one”

I vaguely recall it used to be the case that one of the promoted teams used to get us at their place. Certainly Portsmouth 03/04 and Bournemouth come to mind.
So we probably will end up with something like Everton or West Ham at VP

There’s a go fund me somewhere for it. Can’t find the original link but it’s somewhere on Twitter

Re: Beaconsfield, you can also go from High Wycombe (M40 J4), some trains start there on the Chiltern Line so you’ve a much better chance of a seat. although the council have now put the car park prices up at the multi-storey by the train station to bring it in to line with the station itself. Otherwise there are residential streets around that you can park on, or Railway Place which is cheaper. There’s also The Rye which is £5 for the day and about a 15 min walk to the train station. There is also a park and ride right by the motorway junction that takes you to the station.

Very poor. Think unfortunately if we lose to Southampton, Dean’s gone. I’ll always be grateful for him getting us back into the Premier League
