Embarrassing from some of our fans in the first half. Playing it out from the back is clearly a tactic and one that they’re getting used to. They don’t need people shouting FORWARD at them every time they receive the ball.

Buendia getting loads of stick on here, didn’t think he was that bad in the ground tonight! Few things didn’t come off but thought he buzzed around and defensively was solid too (I know that isn’t his job but someone needed to be in the first half).
Poor miss by Bailey but having watched it back… not as bad as first appeared - off balance and on weaker foot. Obviously still should have scored. Great to see Watkins off the bench to pick him off the floor at the end. Let him loose on Stevenage to try and build some confidence back.
Mings and Konsa decent tonight. Impressed by Augustinsson coming on, much better than his other appearances! Our players looked shattered, hopefully they can get used to playing Sunday Wednesday though!

Got knocked out of the cup by one point as my opponent randomly had Dougie’s 11 point haul. Can’t even complain about it

Gave MOTM to Dougie because he scored and assisted and he’s my favourite player (yes I’m 32 and have a favourite player) but Boubacar was outstanding today too, great partnership growing between the two of them.
Perfect away performance and closed out expertly by Emery with the subs.
One word for Olsen too, looked assured which is in so much contrast to every other time he has played for us!
Great start to 2023.

I don't think we should underestimate the pressure that is on Liverpool here - if we score first, they'll be under huge pressure - a loss today and a loss to Leicester in a couple of days time would mean no Champions League football and no Bellingham and probably no Klopp.
They're clinging to the top four race and while there's plenty of time to go, they can't really afford to keep slipping up - if we get on to them we can make that pressure work for us.

Yeah any tickets not secured by STHs have gone back out as I managed to get my Dad one right next to me and I thought I’d have to move to watch with him. Ring the ticket office next week.

Some bizarre posts on here in the last few pages. He was thrown that doll by someone in the crowd, he didn’t stay up on the plane home from Qatar making it himself! Really want to see him back for the Liverpool game but if we don’t, we don’t. Don’t hold it against our best player who has just achieved something a Villa player hasn’t ever done before.

Get him back for these three matches then give him a week off between Wolves and Leeds - or two weeks off and go with Olsen vs Leeds. Obviously will come down to his own state of mind right now - I’d say there’s more chance we’ll see him than if they had lost.

You misunderstand. WE are not on TV, the mighty Emi Martinez is. Liverpool are only there to bend over for the entertainment of the lifelong Dibu fans watching in London and Buenos Aries.

I went to a Benfica game in 2019 and he was incredible. Hilarious link as I just don’t see it. One of the players in world football I’d most like us to sign though so I’m here for it. Also he banged in the goals for me when I signed him on Fifa for Villa

Trains will be in the wrong places on Sunday as little to no services on Friday and Saturday so will see an impact on Sunday
Yes I get that on longer distance trains but the new st-Aston/Witton trains should be ok to run

So frustrating as a fan who travels from afar! First 3 home games of the year are Wednesday 8pm, Sunday 4:30pm and Friday 8pm, cheers

I don't mind beans! I just don't want errant bean juice spreading over the plate and soggying the rest of the breakfast.
Put your beans on a low ish heat when you put the hash browns/sausages in the oven (ie. start of the cooking process). By the time they’re all done the beans will have a good amount of juice left. Of course you need to stir a lashing of Henderson’s Relish through them before serving.

Rewatching the whole thing again. Even better on 2nd viewing as I can binge it all rather than wait years in between seasons. Always pick up bits you miss first time round too. Already on S4. Recommended to all
Currently rewatching, just up to Nacho’s final scene. Still intrigued by Mike saying “do it” as he has Bolsa at gunpoint (as somebody else posted). Great to watch from the beginning over a shorter period of time as you forget less. Mike’s relationship with Nacho dates back to when Mike did security for that weedy rich guy, clearly has some respect for Nacho.

England win the World Cup in the morning and Villa win in the afternoon, what a day!

Got there early last night and ended up at my seat while the players were warming up which I don’t normally watch. Martinez kept scoring past Olsen and I feared the worst watching that. Would’ve brought on Emi instead of Mings in that triple change. As brutal as it might have looked on Olsen, the mistake was coming all match and he cost us the game. Not good enough and I presume Emery will look to offload and get a better No2. 3 appearances and 11 conceded is it?
Also the difference between Augustinsson and Digne (or Young) is night and day. He checked back at every opportunity in the first half, continually putting Chambers and Olsen under pressure.
Positives: Bailey and Buendia gave us so much impetus, Ollie buried a one on one and the away support.
That Bailey run by the way where he beat about 5 players, deserved an assist from that!

Looks like plenty haven’t been claimed. Wonder if ST holders aren’t bothering or some don’t realise they have to claim it and are planning to just turn up.
