  1. Maybe he can drive us straight into a Champions League place?
  2. His odds are down to fore to one though. Dropped quite a fair way. He has too close links to St Andrews as well. i think him and sven are on a par But the Villa job does suit him to a tee. na i think he would be quite a rough choice I dunno. I think it would be best to at least approach him first and see what he's made of.
  3. I guess but Moyes is far more likely and fits the criteria laid out by the board. Besides, I don't remember Hitzfeld's odds crashing down this low.
  4. Cant remember but when I got my tip off I got 5-1 or 6-1 iirc Paddy Power have suspended betting on the whole market right now, though Ladbrooks remain open and still offer 3-1 What I meant was that did his odds suddenly plummet just before he was announced as manager? Kind of like how his odds plummeted of being sacked hours before he resigned.
  5. Tomorrow morning - Moyes announced as Villa manager. You heard it here first.
  6. It's gone on Paddypower. Don't they take it off around this time every day?
  7. What happened with MON's odds shortly before he came here?
  8. Wouldn't it be great if Moyes was announced as manager tomorrow and we managed to sign a couple of decent players before the close of the transfer window? You never know...
  9. You raise a good point. What's to say we can't get someone like Hitzfeld in?
  10. I'm actually really warming to the idea of Sven as well. Certainly not the worst name out there by any means.
  11. Anyone checked Sven's wikipedia page recently? Which one of you did it?
  12. Would Moyes be that good though? I'm not saying he wouldn't but I was always under the impression that he was a bit overrated.
  13. Besides the likes of Mourinho and SAF is there anyone we haven't yet mentioned?
  14. If I were a betting man I wouldn't put my money on either of those two. It's the same as the Bradley situation - if the board wanted to they would've installed either of those people as manager already by now.
  15. To be fair I think we could've counted on Bradley being ruled out for quite some time now. By the looks of it we could've got him here pretty quickly if we wanted to.
  16. "Two of the traits we believe are of crucial importance are that candidates have experience of managing in the Premier League and a strategy for building on the existing strengths in our current squad" It is if you take the above sentance from the statement as accurate. Above all I think the club are looking for the right man. If they find that right man in a foreign manager I don't see any reason why he wont be appointed. As long as said man has "experience of managing in the Premier League" it wont matter where there from they will be considered. If not they wont be, simples!! The statement didn't say that. The General didn't say that either. I've pasted the relevant bit of the statement again as you missed it the first time. Here you go "Two of the traits we believe are of crucial importance are that candidates have experience of managing in the Premier League and a strategy for building on the existing strengths in our current squad" Black and white for you Yeah, I saw it the first time. To me it looks as if Premier League experience is important but not the be all and end all. Do you really think Randy and the board wouldn't appoint someone they thought to be the right man just because he didn't have PL experience?
  17. Yeah. If we were going to appoint some underwhelming "safe" man we would've done it this time last week. Unless of course, you buy into the silly theories that the only reason it's taking so long is because Randy doesn't want to spend any money.

  20. In all fairness it could still be someone like Klinsmann. Premier League experience isn't something which is necessary for the job.
  21. I'm not ruling out anybody at the moment. There are some candidates who are more likely than others but really it could be anyone. My money would probably go on Jol or Sven though. As for the transfers - getting an actual manager in (and the right one) is far more important.
  22. Still need a new manager. Randy isn't dumb so I'm sure he can see this too. Still, credit to both the players and K Mac for the result today. UTV!
  23. Just what we needed. The players showed that they do in fact have determination. Hats off to all of them. This should be a big confidence booster.
  24. Let's just get through this game.
